Don't try arguing, please, it's futile. Besides, this whole debate about which is more "sim" and which more "arcade" is stupid. They're both really great games, some prefer one over the other, other people like 'em both.
To each his own. Man, this "console war" is really really really really getting old.
Well if you've read the instructions, what more do you expect us to tell you? We can't tell you how long it will take or anything, so... just send the money out already.
By the way, you're paranoid about online bank accounts - that are generally pretty secure - being stolen but you're okay with sending a simple envelope with money in it to the UK? I would think it's much easier for someone to just open the envelope and take the money than it is for someone to steal or hack a bank account
Yep, that's what I was thinking, too. Still, better tyre physics is at least a step in the right direction
Aye, we had a very good turn out yesterday. I didn't really have that much close racing - mainly due to cockups on my part - but I had a great time nonetheless. My girlfriend wasn't so happy that I spent the entire evening on the computer, though, so I'll have to make up for that tonight which means I won't be racing
Oh, and I'm looking forward to a vid of the action between you and Mark, Stu
Like I've said many times before, there is almost no online racing to be found for the HistorX mod outside of organized leagues.
There are two leagues running at Raceconnect; the GT League and the TC League. You can check those out if you're interested in some organized racing. I signed up for them a while ago but I found the site and everything else to be so unclear and confusing and I couldn't make it to the server in time because I had no clue which server to look for. rFactor's buggy as **** server browser had a large part in that. I was so frustrated I immediately had my account at RaceConnect cancelled.
Like Gnomie said, someone over at Dead Men Racing runs an event on Friday evenings so we always get together then, although I must say that the turnout for the last couple of weeks hasn't really been all that. Look for the FinnglishRacing server in the server browser on Friday evenings. Or manually enter Finnglish.gotdns.com.
He was talking about the Enduracers mod
You're absolutely right, there's a shitload of fiddling that you can do to tweak a ton of things, but I gotta say that it worked for me pretty much straight out of the box. It seems that it works well straight away for some people while it doesn't work at all for others
Nothing beats LFS in the pick up and play department, that's a fact
I usually don't mess around a lot either, but I do always set the gear ratios up properly for each track, to make the most of them. Of course then you have to remember to load the right setup before each track, otherwise you're out of luck
As for racing tonight, I don't know if I can make it. Depends a bit on what my girlfriend is up to, as she can't watch the TV when I'm playing and she does usually watch TV in the evenings. I suppose I could try hooking my Xbox up to my 22" monitor but IMO console games need to be played on a TV Then again it might actually look better on my monitor as my TV isn't HD. Hell, it isn't even a flatscreen.
Well I sent multiple invites to Luke but he didn't show up
Yeah, I thought you were having issues. You kept going offline and then coming back online again and again and again...
The race at Laguna Seca was great, really close finish there For the one at Road Atlanta I had forgotten to load my setup for that track, and the gears were too short as you probably noticed on the straight. It could have been as close as Laguna Seca if I'd loaded the right setup, I think.
It's Dajmin I have had you in my list before but deleted you when I was "purging" my friends list. I ended up with 0 contacts, lol I just never play online so that explains.
