Aren't there already gauges on your 1st monitor? I have to agree with Logicalx, it looks nice but I hardly see the point for a duplicate dashboard that's not where you're looking (forward, at your main monitor) and not as familiar as a regular dash like in LFS.
I want to say that most people use cockpit view and have look left/right buttons easily accessable. Like others have said, situational awareness is more than just seeing the other cars, but knowing where they were, are, and probably will end up going.
I use Cockpit view with 90° FOV (never bothered to change from default) and use mirrors often, and look left-right when mirrors aren't enough.
EQ Worry, I have a question reguarding the grid sorting. When does that occur? My guess is that it occurs when the countdown for the restart starts, is this right?
Basically I'm asking because sometimes on IHR some faster cars are put at the back even though they have it sorted by class. I'm wondering if this would be lessened if they had a shorter countdown.
The way I see it is that some racing series are strictly after seeing who is the fastest driver/team over a racing season, while others focus more on keeping the racing close.
Most leagues are the former, and unless there are actually more than one closely matched entries then it's quite easy for one guy to win by a mile every time.
iTCC is more about the spectral, more about keeping the racing close. It heavily restricts an already easy car to drive, making it even easier to drive, it has 3 sprint races instead of one long race, and it has ballast and reverse grids. No series with success ballast or reverse grids are ever fair, and go against the "may the fastest car win, even if it's a boring race" mantra that is most racing leagues (Schumacher, anyone?).
Like others said, this is what you signed up for, and this is what iTCC is about. PMD did get a kick in the face when he got max ballast and started 10th, but that reverse/ballast stuff kept NickC from winning/podiuming all three races and taking a huge lead in the championship. I feel for Diaz, but it did it's job in regard to NickC (Not that I wanted to see you end up retiring Nick, you deserved a good points haul).
For the short tracks/fast cars it's easy enough to make sense of how people are steering/braking/applying throttle. For the long tracks (especially with slower cars) it's an absolute mess of nothing but a jumble of vertical lines.
If we could sort of zoom in (timewise) on the the telemetry in the stuff it would be a lot more useful.
To give an example, it is much easier to see what I did differently at SO3 than it is at AS6. If you could zoom in AS6 to show only 5-10 seconds or even 30 second clips it would be much easier to compare telemetry.
I think XRG @ AS4 would be doable. I'm not all that fast and I'm about .75s off the current WR. That's less difference than I am off XRG @ AS3 which is less turns (and done by azza already).
