Quote from Neilser :I'm curious - what does DX9 offer you?

I'm curious to see if the Xbox 360 controller will have the triggers on different axes without using 3rd party drivers.

Quote from J@tko :Ted Kravitz on Twitter: "Just spoke to A Newey, post box slot is primarily for cooling: driver and other parts. He denies it gives RB8 any aero benefit. Newey also says might be exhaust controversy if someone races in Oz with a different interpretation and that he wants to stay at Red Bull.." .

Just like the Brabham fan was for engine cooling.

Quote from CSF :

Ferrari found a way to make their car even more ugly!!! Putting the number there... wow!

I honestly think it's a great use for that spot, it makes the number easily visible from the front.

Quote from Bean0 :Some links to follow the testing...

Sky Sports
F1Today.nl
Williams F1

Some more as well:

In depth timeline of all laps set:

BBC's live reporting:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/16914962

I really don't think we'll find out today or even this week if McLaren's nose is better or worse than the conventional one that most of the others have. It's early testing, most teams are simply going for shakedowns and data collecting rather than ultimate pace. Even then, whose to say who is on what fuel?

Pretty good video, but the fact that most of it was at a silly 30° angle was pretty annoying.

Could one of you guys with access quote whatever posts you're trying to point out, as you can't read their forums without logging in.

Quote from boothy :Just use WinMerge to compare the old and new .cfg files? That's what I do with the new Aonio/Airio installs.

I don't know how many versions old my cfg file is but it was missing 2 lines (the bolded ones) so I guess it's done its job. Thanks.

EQ Worry -

Any answer on an easier method of updating? Of course it's only a real issue if you bring any updates that cause changes to the cfg files, but it's still not very clean.

Quote from boothy :The admins can tell everyone that they must drive in pink skins, the drivers don't have to race if they don't like the rules or the track though...

Who wouldn't want to drive in a pink skin?

Why would money need to change hands? The cleanest way to do this is have the custom ads on the host pc (as stated in the OP), and those who choose to allow downloading of ads (in low or hi res) download it from the host, not from LFSWorld like we do for skins. Nothing about this says "Scavier need money for this".

Think about what ads are displayed now though, some are tied in with the two BMW formula cars that LFS has, that probably came from some sort of agreement. Allowing hosts to change those at a whim may go against such an agreement. Who knows.

Well I suppose what I am trying to get at is that I'm wondering if there is a better way of upgrading than unzipping to a new subfolder and copying Aonio.cfg.txt and my pb files over, something cleaner and sure not to cause issues if you add new features that require new lines in the cfg files.

Quote from ChristijaNL :A filter to hide Demo hosts on S2.

You can do this on LFSWorld right now, though it makes little sense to have it on LFSW but not in game. I would also like to be able to filter by open-layout (inclusive, exclusive, both) in LFSW and in game.

How often do you change the Aonio.cfg.txt file (adding new config lines and features)? Am I hurting anything by just copying the file between each new release of Aonio?

I think a lot of us like that LFS isn't rFactor in that everything is so fragmented. I'd rather have fewer, good quality, choices then a few thousand bad ones and a few diamonds in the rough.

Luckily for me this won't change in a long long time (if ever) for LFS.

Quote from 5laps.com admin :launch our service to include all of Europe to bring much anticipated global feel to competing.

What? Can we Americans (and that Japanese guy who asked) join or not? And what is the actual reason for having a different .exe? Someone mentioned credits to buy races, but surely that could be done on a website or something?

Quote from arco :Who takes hotlapping seriously now anyways, as long as people are allowed to use exploits like button clutch scripts and what not. Looking at most of the wr's set in the last 6 months or so sure is a sad sight. Just thought I'd mention it while we're on the subject on fixing hotlapping stuff...

Have last 6 months worth of WRs had a higher rate of exploits over the last few years? Maybe it has but that stuff has been around forever. If that's not it, what do you mean by "a sad sight"?

Yes it can be done, what you want is XBCD as mentioned in LFS's wiki manual: http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/G ... an_Xbox_360_Gamepad_in_XP

If you're using a 64bit version of windows then check out this post: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1579512#post1579512.

Quote from bunder9999 :he wanted custom cars... what i linked was the only place they're stored.

If you go to the BLs then bring up the dropdown menu for cars, all the custom cars are at the bottom of that list. Then you can see custom cars in a laptime board organization, exactly what he asked for.
