-1.

It was almost impossible to see out of the Yaris in the driving school (had to move the head all the way to the side window or to the centre of the car). It's not as bad but still quite bad in the Punto (1st gen) i drive today.

THa's cause you're 14. I drive with my heel under the brake pedal with the toes pressing on the gas pedal. And then just turn the foot over to the brake. Not with my MOMO though, i do that in the Punto :P

Anywho, i still haven't recieved the wheel. Everybody else got it?

Wouldn't really be good. THe V8 is TOTAL overkill. Even the Clio wasn't that good. THe V8 is too powerful and too heavy for such a small car. A car with lots of power is fast. And for that you need a bigger car - a longer wheelbase at least. SHort car would be VEEEEEEEEEERYYYYYYYYYYYYY nervous at high speeds. This would never work in a GTR IMO. Road car maybe, just maybe, but not in a GTR...

Quote from pedrotski :Real cars. Put every car they can in the game since this will be the last release. Just name them incorrectly like GTA did if licencing is an issue.

Where did you get that 'this' is the last release????

YOu are wrong. It's a well known fact that making a solar pannel is such a dirty job it reeks havoc on the enviroment a lot mroe than you get from the pannel itself. It's not just silicon and copper but loads of heavy metals, mercury for example being one.

I'd say the MOMO is more suited for RBR since it doesn't have an H-shifter and 900° of steering. It has 270, which is a bit too little - 540 would prolly be ideal for rallying.

For PS2 (3), yeah. But you can set the wheel rotation per degree in the logitech drivers on a PC.

Same here. THe buttons. Maybe there are 8 on the wheel? The silver rocker-like thingies... Will see. It does have 'paddles' - buttons on the back side, simmilar to Mercedes steering wheels and semi-auto transimisons. Don't really like the wireless that much ATM... Will also see what it will be like. There will definetly be less clutter on the table. Counting down to the next week. Good timing too. Just after the 4th LFS GT race and a month (or half a month) before the next race. SO i'll be able to freely use the 911 wheel and get used back to this crappy MOMO in time for the race. Jakg where will you test it? LFS, RBR and TDU are assured here, prolly GTR2 also (with NAPP mod i presume).

Nissan GTR. SUre, it's a big V6. And sure, it has 2 turbos. But still :P Don't really see the TBOs as rally cars for the road, they seem more as a basis for touring cars. But then again, those should be 2.0 N/A or something...

Hope to get the thing as soon as possible. It'd be nice to get a G25 too to make a comparison test. I'm on a dying MOMO ATM...

Hm... I'd prefer a V6 in the RB4. A big V6 powered FWD car just seems so weird for racing. Even Audi used Quattro. I wouldn't like it TBH...

Tristan i suspect you mean the rice kiddies aero tuning? Proper aerodynamics developed for racing cars surely increaase performance overall. They usually lower the top speed (comparing a GT(R) to it's road counterpart) but corners can be taken a lot faster...

If you mean the F1 car, same as any F1 car, i'd prefer the BMW Turbo then, with a rumoured 1400 bhp out of a 1,4 engine for qualification.

If you mean the McLaren F1 road car, that didn't have any turbos...

Quote from March Hare :Besides, we just got a real car added to LFS. The second one I might add.

Actually, the fourth, besides the Sauber, Raceabout and the MRT.

If nothing else all those abreviations (GT, Turbo, GTR, etc.) will make a havoc with people. We are acustomed to that, but think of the new users. They will need a dictionary just to choose the car they want.

Driving school Yaris (current gen.) had that, 1st gen Punto doesn't have it.

No no no, not another XR... They are quite nice but no, we already have 3. That's way too much IMO. A completely new car would be a better idea IMO.

Any good reasons for having real cars other than the ability to say 'I can drive the 'xxx' in LFS.'?

Lack of grip is not associated with lack of tread but because the tire is too hot and the rubber doesn't act optimally there. DOn't exactly know what happens to road tires, but racing tires start to blister and actually melt. I guess it's the same here. Less tread (when you just use it all up on the whole tire, uniformly) will even give you more grip - more surface area...

And learn to write in english dammit, your official language is not engrish.

AM i the only one that just hopes to see a post like this from Tristan? I don't know are you all to prod of yourselves to actually read but this guy knows stuff. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOADS of stuff. So i cherish every post that is filled with information. I found out a lot of new stuff from this thread. Didn't read the whole thread (only 3/$ of the first page, then the piss stuff started). I have actually learned a few things from the rare posts from Tristan i've read (don't read him that much, sadly, where can i catch you Tristan? ), which will hopefully come to use in the future (aiming for a Facutly of mechanical Engineering...).

GT1 style prototypes, an AWD FZ50 GTR Turbo to go along with them and also an RWD competitor to the UFR/XFR. Some say we have too much tintops and not enough single seaters. Not true. Ingleseaters are very alike and we have 4 different and on the other hand quite simmilar. THe thing is you can hardly make 2 different cars and make them competetive. And that's the thing. With tintops you can have an N/A engine, FR/MR/RR, FWD, AWD and so on, racing versions of them (there are no single seaters for the road). SOmeone said we need more open cars. What for? They are aerodynamically and constructionally inferior to tin tops - they have more drag and more chassis flex (which is not calculated). The only open cars could be some prototypes. But depending on the calss, the LMP1s will have to be (prolly) closed up in a few years. LMP2 is left though.

Quote from ghost racer :Replace the Rac's motor with a inline 6?? Give it alittle bit more weight to keep it planted... Although it's good now

RAC is a real car, made by students from the Helsinki university.

AFAIK racing slicks are far harder than road tires...

There wouldn't be any increase since they get the nitrogen from the air...

Tristan does that have anything to do with cooling the tires down? Or something like that...
