So you have 250$ for a wheel and don't have 1/5th for the software? No, it's not worth it. Go play rTractor.

Could you re-spell that, please?

Quote from Rappa Z :I've seen it many times before, but it's always funny. Just hope it was before the race, to explain why he was slower than the Mclarens.

As you can see, that vid is at least 2 years old. He was still at McLaren then.

As was said, if it was the bike, why is the second placed ducati only 12th or so???

Jakg the problem is it's still CF. A single die card will work better in all the games no matter what. How does LFS scale with CF? And what games do you play amp, besides LFS obviously?

It's your thing what to do, but i'd REALLY go with a Core 2 Duo. ATM i'm still on a single core (Celeron 420) and i don't see any good reasons why to go with 4. Unless you render (3D or movie) a lot, then you'd get a speed burst from 2 mroe cores. And G92 any time over G80 i think. The vRAM doesn't add that much to be worthwhile. And 1 gig GTs are actually slower than 512s i think.

Quote from DHRammstein :After thinking about it for a long time, I think a 4WD LX and GT car would be great, perhaps an Audi rip-off.

Would be great but it wouldn't be an LX. Maybe if it was an LX8 but it would have to be bigger to house additional 2 (or only 1, if one was acting like 2) differentials.

Never buy a PC to have it for a few years.

I'dget an E8x00, E8400 for example. And i'd wait out for P45 boards (should be soon, Abit will have some nice boards). And i'd get an 8800 GTS since you have a 24'' LCD.

Quote from tristancliffe : Unfortunately this won't make diesels better, because petrols would kick ass. What needs to be done is ignore diesel, and get some throttleless gasoline engines out in the market so that petrol can enjoy all the benefits of diesel, reduce emmisions AND go quicker.

I was wondering what this throttleless petrol engines are before, so, what is it? Audi's FSI? (direct injection)?

saw that about 400+ in a japaneese show. It is weird since torque is more important as the top speed is about 200 kph anyway (man its hard to write on the phone

Well it was said that the 2003 (i think, or maybe older) Imperza is (was) rumored to have over 430 bhp. And the limit is supposed to be 300 (via the restrictor). 600+ is IMO very likely, yes. The 2003 scooby had 600 written in RBR.

Mmmmmmmm, Vantage GT2. But the Lola sounds awesome. Almost like a jet. Dunno about it looking the best, but it's not bad. bentley Speed 8 still wins though.

Quote from samjh :Well, Pescarolo Sport was very competitive in the 2006 and 2007 Le Mans 24 hour races. In 2006 they placed 2nd behind Audi, and in 2007 they were third behind Audi and Peugeot. Rollcentre Racing used the Pescarolo/Judd to place fourth in 2007 too.

Although Pescarolo isn't a mainstream manufacturer, they performed competitively against the diesels, especially against Peugeot.

I wish Porsche would come up with an LMP1 car and engine and challenge the Audis and Peugeot. Their RS Spyder should be a good base upon which to build up an LMP1 design. I don't know why they won't go for LMP1.

Porsche will never make an LMP1 as long as Audi is 'running' the LMP1 show for VAG. Porsche will buy an additional 20% of VAG to become the major owner. That's why the R8 has a V8 8the road car) - a V10 woul come in the Gallardo territory.

Dan are you sure about 50-60% of energy going into motion at diesels? That would make them hugely efficient and i don't see why we would still use petrol then. Honestly i kind of doubt the number is that high (although it can be higher than petrol). But on the other hand, i think it's 30% for petrol engines, if i'm not mistaken.

EDIT: yes, i have read it. But it's quite obvious for me that if you want it to be fair, give turbos to all. But it won't be fair then. Or take the turbos off for everybody. And it's not fair again (performance wise ofcourse). But it's obvious what a turbo petrol engine can do - WRC. A diesel has no place there. IIRC those engines can go up to 600 Nm of torque (is the number that high or is it lower?).

Give turbos to petrol cars too and then see who's faster.

I don't like Seats too. But BMWs are surprisingly fast compared to the specs - officialy 275 bhp and 242 Nm for the BMWs and 280 bhp and 450 Nm for the Seats.

And another great read from Tristan (and some others too):P

EDIT: oh, what help is it if the BMWs were .3 faster a lap, if they can't pass? They caught up on braking and mid-turn, then almost rammed the Seats on the apex and then the Seats flew away.

I want you to take English lessons NAO!

If we'll get it, we will. It would be very hard to make it 'safe. What will you do to prevent cutting? A gazillion tires? A barrier?

Quote from atlantian :wow, i saw a 190e in that vid! that's what my friend/teammate is getting! i am trying to convince him to get a turbo... an old luxory car isn't that competitive... against new sports cars

Dude there were so many 190es in there it's not even worth counting them. But fsck the 190e, M3 powaaaaaaaaaa. Take a look at the Artur Deutgen onboard if you don't believe me.
