This is just awesome!! I had tried out Aonio before but didn't explore it much until today. I like the feature of storing PBs etc locally. Always wanted this when I do hotlaps.
Can you tell me what are the different columns in Times.txt? because I would like to manually add my LFSW PB (Hotlapping or online) into that file when I am hotlapping, so that it compares with my PB. The ideal thing would be someway to import LFSW PBs and/or hotlaps into that Times.txt but for now I would like to add a row to denote my PB corresponding to the current hotlapping combo into that Times.txt file.
Edit: It is ok I found out, I will just add a line like
[tab] KY1 FXR 1 1398 0 0 3971
Just playing my hotlap replay add the times into the file! awesome !
Is it possible that some obsolete dds files of the same name are already present in the skins_dds folder? Can you check if you have XFG_TRAFFIC.dds etc already present in skins_dds folder, if so delete it and then try again? so that a fresh dds is created again?
1. If you have downloaded some skins from some of the stalwarts like bean0, life4pixel etc, they are already uploaded to LFSW, so you need not do anything.
2. Changing of rims, lights etc are local changes, they are not part of skins, so others racers will see the rims, lights that they have, not the one you have modified. Also it is possible that you have seen the rims from the 3D renders, they are not part of LFS screenshot. You won't get those rims and lights when you download their skin. You get only the body decals.
3. Changing lights, interiors etc are harmless dds mods. You can browse through the unofficial addons section. Especially try Lynce's revolution pack
4. Changing rims is vob mods IIRC, and it might prevent you from joining servers with OOS error etc.
Hey, weird thing happened, I clicked on Details against the Qualifying mpr and accidentally clicked "Remove" and it got removed. It is not there even if I logout. Can you check if Qualifying mpr is available for you? else you may need to re-upload it. Sorry about that
I hope your work won't be redundant from a community perpective. So try to make it unique by giving it your own spin on it, when you release. But that said, of course one should continue to learn and explore by themselves anyways So good luck
But Bluebird B B has a point, if skins are using manufacturers' logos, then I don't know if one is allowed to claim proprietary on the skin. May be the use of logos are copyrighted by the manufactures and may be it is not allowed to use them.
For example the games companies has to get license to use the manufacturers' logo. So does n't apply to users creating skins too? In that case I don't think users who re-use logos(copyrighted images) etc can claim copyright on their skin. But then again, I think user creating skins is a non-commerical purpose, so not sure about the licensing and copyrights etc.
But the underlying thing is, not all user creates skins are created from scratch. Some are created from scratch, some are not, some are adaptations. Even the OP's skin has Lotus logo. Probably only the carbon-fibre texture is made by the skinner. I am not saying that making a skin with logos is easy. It is still hard work. But it is very difficult draw a line between original and adapted, and even if we manage to draw a line, it is difficult to implement complicated mechanisms to protect skins. Only thing we can hope is, users respecting the work of another user, and asking permission to use them/modify them.
