im in league 17,I was not doin so good, then i saw a guy pwning me with Tristan's TOMeh 05 and I was like...OH YEAH??!. I just baught the 06a. going to wait and see..
After reading through this entire argument - - I decided to share my opinion.
Wheels first when talking about braking I believe. I also believe that not only doesn't the engine cause the vehicle to "brake ( slow down )", Its the other way around, but im just brain storming.
first gear has a limit to the speed it can reach before redline, all gears have different maximums. If one were to be driving in 4th gear at say...1200 revs before redline gearing down would cause the engine to be pushed forward, causing over revving and (depending on the gear ratio or given road forces to stabalise or otherwise the given car) wheel lock up. <- theory
hmm, can't i use this in racing?.
why not?
Applying the brakes while approaching a high speed corner (without the clutch) would cause the engine to slow down due to tyre friction > drive axles > differential > driveshaft etc...
the speed at which the engine decelerates would differ depending on masses of working parts i believe which may be greater or less affected by the tyres friction on the road surface (greater mass of working engine parts would mean less rpm loss and possible wheel lockup).
So I thought to myself, " what would happen if I were to add these two simple equations together to aid my digital brake (keyboard for now)" the differences (given gear + max/minumum speeds of said gears) plus the friction variables while the clutch is engaged.
Result severely cut braking distances. works for me in Live For Speed, Makes sence to me therefore I don't see why it shouldn't work in real life.
that guage is the most useless piece of....what ever i've ever seen in a game. What does it guage?,Why is this nessesary?, this isn't need for speed, shifting actually plays a role here, when it takes more than one person to restart a 4 person race.
Game keeps crashing...so im scared to even go play it ATM...LFS definatly is the only way to go for me and this pc. Sucks having no choice other than numpad for laptop test usage...
He already uses the feint/inertia technique as he stated above. I personally just use weight "repositioning", to relieve weight from the rear, or from any particular wheel of the cars ad enable it to glide or lose traction. My favourite thing to do is watch the drift bible in parts over and over, try each technique in lfs rince and repeat.
*my special secret thats not so special* - after revising all the techniques shown in the drift bible moved on to using all of them, mixing them up to see which ones I preferred, and then I created my own.
by the way, do you plan to move on to supers eventually or will you do as the croud did and hit the easy button?
There are alot of people on these forums from the UK, im wondering why I don't see any of you here for the events get here in 5 days and you will be a bit early, but you won't miss the events, some new stuff coming into the island, some space framed RX-7's, some turbo RX-7's, the old rx-7 that got owned earlier this year... i can't wait.
first time i accidently got burned by peppers, was when my grand mother had been cutting them by the sing and a glass was there....remedy: tablespoon of sugar to rest on the tongue. works wonders.
Take your time man, It only came out today, I personally think that this game is something special, but hey, i thought the same about Colin McRae rally 4 until i tried the Richard Burns Rally demo.
tell him to try unplugging the modem for 3 minutes then plug it back in and wait a while, it should show a message (can't remember at the momeny but it gives instructions to click the repair button)
i tried creating AI drift setups, but after one lap the AI would just drive the car to the limits of it's tyres grip and stay there. My AI learns too quickly.
