You can rev any engine to 9000 for a second or two, then it wont rev again period..

Dude your way too young to have "i fear change" mentality.

Actually i dont use either ,and i still dont want you to push whats right or wrong . Your a guy that sits at a little wheel clamped to a little desk the same as myself...

I beleive a Scawen and Co have a way better idea of what they want than you, me or the rest of us, and thats what i have been saying all along.

Now pull your head in...

I really am not concerned what diff people use, and nobody else should be either.

Scawen has made the option available it will be up to him if stays or goes, really does locked diff hurt anyone but the user?

Please please stop these threads, and can we stop pushing opinions .

If i want i will ask for it.

To quote a famous Australian , Drifting is when your boat runs out of fuel...

I beleive if it doesnt burn fuel its not sport, drifting has proven me wrong.I am now aware that burning fuel can result in dancing as well.

Each to there own but end of story its a racing sim, pure and simple the fact that its so adaptable is a result of good programming not the desire to promote drift and cruising as an alternative life style..

Isnt drifting driving around and yelling "OMG mate i am boosting with my front mount and its fully sick bro!"

Seriously i dont mind drifting as its a bit of fun but its the brain dead riced out dorifto fools that make everyone steer clear of drifting.

Some of Australia's best drifters used to come into my old work and they were total knobs, its the people not the sport/dancing that piss people off.

  1. S4 to be released at the same time as i get my new hovercar
  2. When Tristan thinks Drifting has a important place in motorsport
  3. When i can play guitar properly, actually that will probably take longer than all of the above.

I know a few guys that were running suzuki GTI swifts and the first thing they did is weld the diff up,and a alot of guys run locked diffs in the cheaper production car racing we have at club level.

The GTI's guys had to use go-jacks to get the cars back into there pit area but they said it was the norm for there class of racing to weld the diff centers up.

So probably no need to get rid of it yet.

Be nice to have Rfactors shine with LFS's polish.

Still i dream of the bastard child of GTL and LFS, a dream that will be cry in silence..

One day i will have to have a real hard play with Rfactor , alot of guys say its a good thing so i guess they all cant be wrong?

But so far you seem to have to know alot of arcane ini settings to get the best out of it,take quite some time getting used to the FF ( am i the only one that finds the wheel just shudders constantly if you have the FF dialed up high?)and as yet i havent had alot of luck getting online to have a race.

I have tried the Real Feel patch but it still fills really odd , maybe i have lousy sets but its either heaps of washed out front end push or snap i,m now backwards oversteer.

Some of the mods are really sweet though the V8 Supercabs is a really nice mod the sound is awesome and its nice to look at.

Menus are lousy though, they could take a page from LFS on that one.

I dont want to run down Rfactor or say LFS is better, its just my thoughts on it .As i said all the guys that like it cant be wrong..

And now having played with it , it has merit in so much as the not so quick amongst us have a bit better idea where to place the car.

Which can only be a good thing, maybe just maybe slow up T1 smashes.

Yep!

I have a G25 at home so i,m used to lifting off anyways, joypad at work makes it a bit harder but still well and truly usable.

Yes LFS at work!!! i own my own business so i can have a small amount of playtime..

The wee bimmer is a sweet little unit,so drivable yet unforgiving when you over cook it.

Well done Scavier, dudes n dudettes

Quote from trackah123 :Great work.. I like that ideal-racing line.. Thats the same thing as they have in Forza motorsport and nfs pro street right?

Good for learning the tracks Can you enable disable that in all tracks?

also curious about the physics.. those UFR's at the end of the movie seemed to look more realistic when it comes to suspension bouncing.

God i hope that race line stuff is in offline play only (even then it lowers the credibility of LFS)

Good aid for new users and could be used solely for training purposes ?

I sold auto parts for close to twenty years, when a normal car clutch is abused it tends to glaze the clutch plate which makes the two surfaces slip or produce hotspots on the pressure plate that cause shudder.

When there really abused i have seen the springs broken in the clutch plate and the fingers busted off the pressure plate.

Not to mention the thrust bearing can collapse or the pilot bearing in the flywheel can seize through heat.

Brass button style clutches offer minimal slippage but are utter pigs to get of the line, because there is next to no slip in them.

The clutch plate can also glaze up because it wasn't bedded in properly , very similar to brake pads doing the same thing.

I,m hoping this patch brings more reality into clutches and shifting , and that horrible sound of flats shifting is a thing of the past.

One last thing we got to play with a clutch setup out of an F1 car that Daikan made , there really small but have a heap of little carbon type clutch plates, very small diameter but a fairly long unit and really light.

Quote from Bob Smith :This is entirely up to goop, but I'd suggest that a key point to explain would be why you haven't gone out and bought it already, like the rest of us. Particularly in rich countries where money is unlikely to be the issue.

17 Yr old Apprentice makes about $18.00 more than what you get on the Dole a week , its not all roses (even if Australia is the best place to live in the world, no Universe!!!!! said with mad scientist type voice for effect)

Good on you Goop for being a good bloke.

If that aren't signs of impatience, I don't know what is...

Bottom line is: if you want things speeded up, you're everything but patient...

At least richo is honest enough to admit his impatience...

I,m a patient guy, i have three kids 5-8-15.

Man those monsters will teach you infinite patience.

Just off topic , i dont think "X" sim or "y" sim coming out will make a bit of difference to how LFS is developed.

But theres nothing wrong with healthy competition

I,m sticking with my opinion ,and standing by it .

I have a different take on this , nothing more nothing less

Just makes me laugh at the old "red is a better colour than blue" and then having a bunch of posts after that dissecting what's been said to prove that statement is wrong and the person who said it is a fool, when its nothing more than a difference of opinion.
