Great job with this new patch Scawen I ran through everything I could not get any of the bugs reported. I noticed that the MPR replays are a lot smoother when Fast Forwarding them.
I am running LFS on:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual core processor.
nvidia 7900GTX
Windows XP with SP2.

I always use ALL mirrors. I do this because the "real" rear view mirror is way too small. I installed U27 and first thing I did on-line was cause a major pileup.
If you MUST have one or the other, add an option to enlarge the Real mirror.

Hmm,
U27 was installed for about 5 minutes (mirrors are very bad)
U25 was installed for about 8 minutes (would not let me downshift fast)
U22 was installed for about 2 minutes. Here the Sound was horrible, I had random black bars running across my screen (only happened in LFS) and my sound card said F**K this and I had to re-boot my system to get sound back.
U20 Installed since the day it came out and I am still running it.

I am waiting for U28 or U29 for those mirrors to be fixed. :Kick_Can_

lol, a friend and I have fun with this bug. He parks where I come out of the pits and when I spawn into the pits we are 2 cars in one . Then we carefully drive to a straight and have an ultimate drag race (Slower dude gets launched back and faster dude gets launched forward. Quite fun

Hahhaha, a little late for me here. I just bought a second S2 lisence for the full 24.

All he has to do is switch back to Demo mode and the buyer can change all the passwords.
Guess what, everything is fine. Lisence only on one computer illepall

Quote from Mc21 :Can anyone make a FZ5 soundset?

Please

I am working on one but I am still getting a huge jump in frequency at about 9000RPM .

Quote from DaveWS :To get smooth looping:

Open the sound file in a digital audio editor.

Select all of the sound, and copy and paste it.

You should now have the sound sample repeated twice.

While the copied sound is highlighted, reverse it.

This will smooth the sound properly.

Thanks, I did not think of that . I was trying it every hard way on the planet.

Quote from michaelnyden :how can you emulate vtec changeover sounds when csr overlaps the sounds between mid and high range sound files a lot so you can't get that immediate change in frequency...

Nope you can't, But you can sure get the change with the FZ5 at about 9000 RPM illepall . Just a slight problem.

I can't get my damn looping to be smooth. I made a recording, sliced the clip, and failed miserably at looping smoothly. Any tips on a good program? I am usuing Audacity but I don't think it is the app for the job.
LOL, I did it from UG2 also

Edit: Just went to edit the GTO sounds and it knocked the mug off my desk. My Yamaha subwoofer that was only cranked up to 1/3. I opened it with my editing program and played it. What I got was NOT a GTO sound but some wierd Low pitch deep rumble that goes in different tones for a few minutes. I will post a short example of what I got if nobody has the same problem.

Quote from Gunn :I just installed a utility from AMD called the AMD Dual Core Optimizer. I'm running a dual core AMD Athlon, the utility claims to potentially improve game performance in some games so naturally I'm all keen for that. But having limited knowledge of programming, I'm not sure which games might benefit from this. Here's the blurb from AMD:

I would have posted this in the off topic section but for two reasons: Firstly it might not end up being off topic, depending on the responses, and secondly; I want answers from people who know - not guesses from well-meaning people who aren't sure.

Q1: Does this issue effect LFS currently?
Q2: How common would this problem be for games made in the last five years or so?
Q3: Does this utility seem like a good solution to the apparent problem?

I need that program, Do you know where I could get it? I got my AMD 4200 Dual core and I can't do anything but play LFS. :Kick_Can_

Quote from csurdongulos :how would that be possible without wings attached generating downforce?

Ok, It would be an interesting race. LX8 faster on the straights and the FO8 faster in the turns.

Quote from VALE 46 :Nothing special, but this tire deformation is just crazy

LOL, NICE I Have never seen a tire do that in LFS before.
You are lucky that the tires don't seperate from the rims in this LFS

Well, I am experimenting with creating sound samples from complete audio clips. I took high quality Audio from a dyno run cut it up and now I am making a sounds sample.
Now the problem is what am I going to do with a Cadilac V8 Sound clip?

P.S Any tips on how to make good sound clips would be helpful

Quote from DaveWS :Again, some of the samples are really good. However the pitch (offset and range - see my previous post for tips)

And, again the sounds don't always match the car, for example, the LX6 you made sounds like a castrated screaming dodge viper. E.g. a high pitch V10 engine rather than an Inline 6.

P.S. That RAC sounds like the original BF1 V10 sounds lowered???

GOOD GAWD!!!!:jawdrop: You guessed it 100% correct. Congrats:thumbsup3
I am still working on them.
I know My sound samples suck. I am trying to make some. Searching for in-line 4 and 6 Cylinder engine sounds. Next is Flat 4 and 6.

P.S. What is up with NO V design engines They are all in-line or flat

Edit: Can you guess what the other ones are from?

yeah, when I join I start at the back and usually end up in the gravel or get wrecked. It takes me a while to get up to the top 3-5 spots, then I get a good race.
I have not found any of those T1 wrecks my fault. I guess there could have been that one where the guy slid onto the grass and hit a few people. I moved over a little too much for another car and only left him about a half meter of spare room I have worked with far less.

Well, The way I do the turn is brake a little early and enter the turn about 20- 30km/h slower than normal to avoid hitting cars infront of me. I don't think it is my fault that people behind me try to do it at full racing speed and either spin, slide into the gravel, or nail another driver

That server is fun
I doubt you saw it but From the instant I got hit to the point where both Vic's car and my car were off the track belly up took about 2 seconds. Sadly we did not get a re-start off of it

The first two shows what might happen if you take that part wrong. In the first pic, I made it out, The second one I crashed and burned.

The other ones just show what happens in the T1 wrecking. But you don't usually see 2 cars sliding off the track belly up (I was the #10 car). It was a fairly large wreck compared to the usual wreck. (just look in the rear-view mirror of the in-car screenie) A few wrecked avoiding it too. About 11 people wrecked there.

Quote from Boris Lozac :I gotta say, this sounds really bad.. nothing like caterhams.. It just screams a lot, and there is some very high pitched noise, very disturbing..

Well, that is why I posted.
I was just wondering what people thought of my work so far. It is not done yet.

I need some more sound samples. I am having problems finding any.
To me, None of the sounds I just did sound right.

There are many cars with NO true competition. The BF1, FOX, FO8, MRT, UF1... I think the LX8 would be a good competition for the FO8 if it has a true V8 with about 400-450BHP.

Hate to say this but the ONLY front wheel drive car I can drive is the UFR and I am still scared S***LESS!!! In my opinion, I don't think driving the LX8 would be any worse to drive than the UFR or the XFR.
I can sure as heck drive the LX6 better than I can the Front wheel drive cars.illepall
