The body and paint has to be in decent shape without any rust or major dents, and the interior has to be in reasonable shape. I will NOT buy a car that has been wrecked.
I would much rather buy a cheap car with engine or transmission problems rather than a cheap running car because you know exactly why they are selling it.
Perfect example.
My 944, I paid $1000 for it because someone neglected to change the timing belt and it broke, so I had to replace 5 valves and get the head machined.
The car has 230,000 miles on it and there has never been any major work done to it until I got. The car is reliable, gets over 30mpg, and it does not need any work. Well, I guess I need to replace my air dam but that's it.
I could not give a damn about mileage. If it is a good car then it will keep on going well past 300K. Just look at the service records, if it has a very long list of things that have been replaced, FORGET IT! The list will keep growing.
all I do is raise the RPM and let the clutch out a little while holding the brake with my foot. The handbrake turns off and if you are not on a hill, you won't move when your foot is off the brake.
Well, I find this thread funny.
I know a heck of a lot of people use auto clutch and sequential shifter, less wheel rotation, assists, etc. However I see no advantage to this. I can shift up and shift down far faster than they can and my clutch will last longer too. The degrees of rotation is just a personal preference in my opinion. If they can't react fast enough to correct and need less rotation, that's their problem.
I drive so my wheel is always 1:1 with the in-game wheel, full H-shifter manual clutch (yes, I heel-toe every downshift), my brakes WILL lock if pushed too hard, and absolutely no assists in any car.
Just keep that in mind when you are racing with me and good luck.
Edit: I read some more of the posts in this thread and I guess I am one of only a couple people here that are fast without any assists.
If I had two cameras (one for my pedals and one for my shifter and wheel) I would gladly show you how it's done. Well, G25 pedals suck so it is not really heel-tow, it is more like left half of my foot half foot is on brake and the right half on the throttle.
Heh... How about a 944?
Mine gets 34mpg average.
It is far faster than 12.5 0-60
Best of all, it cost me total about $1800 after towing it home, replacing the bent valves and machine work to the head.
Hey! Nobody told me I was going to get posted on Youtube for leading everyone to a barrier.
I was the one who got plowed into the first barrier. I can spot that skin from a mile away.
Hell, He is my teammate and I was not happy! He was not even supposed to have to drive in the race.
I will agree with you that he was all over the place, he had never driven with the setup before and he is a FXR guy.
Fixed your second picture.. I was clearly hit by something as my car is quite sideways.
I am sorry but I left you the same amount of room the second time, I left the same amount of room for everyone else and yet you are the only one to have any problem. It is the same exact corner that you had issues with other drivers, that is why I brought this up in the first place.
If you want to know what I see, this screenshot should tell you why I am saying this is your fault.
Want the admins to decide, fine. I know that quite a few of us are not too happy with your *wonderful* moves.
I am talking about these. I have no idea what replay you are using.
I left you room, you went in too fast and your front end slid out into my car. At the exit you were at the outside edge of the track where I was going to be if you did not bump me.
Car #4 needs attitude adjustment.
If you watch car #4 and #14 lap 35 time right at 44min 30sec there is a prime example. Divebomb and if someone is there, there is contact. I got pushed into a wall and lost quite a bit of time due to damage.
I did not think much of it until the above post was made so I looked at my replay and found it was the same person.
Edit: On lap 36 time: 45min 15sec. Car#4 comes out of the corner and runs straight into the side of car#27. I was not looking for that in my replay, I just ran across it.
Replay time right after 1h 34min 45 seconds, Long straight. lap 75
Cars involved 14 and 03.
I (14) am holding a smooth line close to the inside, 03 is on the outside attempting to overtake comes over and hits the side of car 14.
May seem minor but it was fully avoidable absolutely no reason for it at all. Caused minor damage to my suspension and cost time. Almost caused a larger incident, lucky I did not go for a spin.
FINALLY! Someone who agrees with me .
I drive at 120 though, the first time I played LFS it was set at 120° FOV and I have never changed it.
20° makes the car feel like it is going 40mph when you are doing 120 and you can't see out of any windows or see the left mirror!
I have seen this thread floating around for a very long time and I can't take it anymore. I have my noise canceling headphones on and it is dead silent! Don't kill me
