I suggest you start asking your parents or neighbors for work to do. You see, this is how the world works. If you want something, you need to work for it. Kinda sad we need to tell you this, and not your parents

First off, gratz on making it a whole year!

I got a msg from Dru asking if I was still looking for a team, and I am. So I thought I'd stop by and introduce myself.

I'm 27 years old, I live in Florida state, US. Timezone isn't much of an issue for me to attend races, I'm flexible. I've been racing since early 2004, am comfortable with most cars in the game, except maybe the XRT, which I'm making myself learn recently and the BF1, which I just haven't raced much. I also know the tracks all very well. My main reason for wanting to be involved in a team is to escape some of the chaos of the public servers, while at the same time getting to know some people who I can consistently race against.

I already know Moose since I spend a great deal of time racing on the CTRA servers, and I believe I've raced with Dru before. Other than that, I'm not too familiar with your crew, but you guys have a great reputation from what I've heard. I would love to be a part of that. If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask! Thanks for your time and consideration

Boy, you're asking for a lot. Be prepared to have everyone insist that their wheel is the best

IMO, if you have a chance to try either, do so before buying. I wont tell you what's best for you. Plenty of people own the Momo (majority of LFS racers?) and a lot own the DFP as well. You wont be at any disadvantage owning either, IMO. So, if realism is your thing, I'd suggest the DFP, if you don't mind having a smaller turn radius, go for the Momo.

(Watches his watch and counts the minutes till people insist that you should buy what they have :razz

The problem with community submissions is, everyone wants to submit something. It might suck, it might not, but you're at a point where the Devs have to turn away content. This doesn't sit well with some people, as they take it as a slap in the face.

As is, the current process guarantees one thing. Lack of argument. Although the process is slower, it leaves less people upset due to having content turned away.

Sure, I'd love to see more OFFICIAL devs working on tracks and cars, but I don't think turning to the community would be the proper way to do this.

Quote :i really hate when u press the spacebar the car repairs i dont se the point becouse u crash and u cant easly continue using the space bar and in blackwood u can continue thorguht the bariers and then press space and contiune i hate it

You should stop racing on that server and join a server that has reset disabled

You get 2 unlocks each friday (assuming you have no unlocks come Firday).

So, if you're out of unlocks, you can msg the devs with your story and hope they give you another, or, you can wait till Friday for 2 more. Mind you, you only get 2 unlocks if you've used 2 unlocks. They don't accumulate over time. 2 is the max you'll ever have per week.

If you have to msg the devs for more unlocks, please be more careful about how you use them.

At the risk of sounding completely nubbish (yes, I poked through LFS Manual...), how do I figure out the Locking/Coast percentages? By default, I think they're set for 80% on both braking and coast, and I understand what braking and coast are (duh), but what I can't seem to figure out is what the percentages mean.

If someone could simply explain that, I think I could get it all figured out with the help of Android's 'english version of how preload works'. Thanks!

Quote :I just think it would be good to have an easily accessible all-in-one pack with all official textures, rather than random look-a-likes.

I can agree with that.

Quote :Perhaps this is not an immediate priority, but I reckon this should be done before S2 Beta then full, which is when the reviewers will step in!!

This sim has actually been reviewed many times, and those reviewers didn't much seem to mind the DX8 graphics. Granted, more high-end game review sites might nit-pick about this.

Overall, it's not a bad idea to implement higher-res textures into the game, as long as it does stay, as noted, 'low priority'

I'm not familiar with actual color codes, though if you hit up Google, you will find all sorts of websites that offer code references to colors based on whatever application you may need (HTML, HEX, ETC).

Sorry I can't be of more help than that.

This has been brought up recently by people who run Cruise servers.

Hope that helps. You're not the first to suggest it

A very sharp blue color should work fine for your purposes

(Close to baby blue, if I'm not mistaken)

First, try a fresh install of LFS. If this does not work, make sure your firewall is allowing ALL TRAFFIC for lfs.exe.

If neither of these work, try the good old ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew under the command prompt. It seems to work wonders some times. If THAT doesn't work, give your comp a reboot.

I say this because at first I couldn't connect to master server, but I re-added lfs.exe to my firewall and everything was smooth after that. I wish you luck!

I voted no simply because 3rd parties have developed high-res packs for LFS (sure, not all textures, but getting there)

I'd rather have the devs put their time into new tracks, new cars, physics improvements, etc, than something to do with graphics. I know the new comps can handle a bunch of eyecandy, but that's not what makes this a successful simulation.

At the same time, I agree with the notion that this sim could look a lot better, but again, I wouldn't want the devs distracted with that 'issue'.

I think I found a bug. Everyone keeps losing control into Turn 1 and no one seems to know why!!! Even though everyone seems to know the track they are on, it's as if T1 keeps moving and keeping people off guard, and this causes wrecks all over the place!!!

Please, fix T1 on all tracks to a straight line, no more T1s!!!

(Yes, I know I'm off topic, but I'm pissed off at the quality of racing after this patch, I'm sorry...)

No offense meant, but this is a RACE sim, not a cruise sim.

The changes made to reset seem perfectly fine for racing conditions, at least IMO.

Thanks for making LFS so much better than any other simulation and arcade racers out there!

Physics weren't changed. Check to see what type of diff you're using, cause the LSD was changed a bit this patch. If you're running a LSD Clutchpack, it could be due to that.

Other than that, nothing else was changed to make your car loose control like that.
