And Richard - Thanks for putting up a link to our website. Our links and contact page is still under development but I'll make sure a dba link comes on it as soon as it's finished.
A stupid small movie clip I once made as an extra for after a team movie we were making at the time... but... the actual movie was never finished, and these skins are now obsolete, so I thought I'd put it to use here now as a stand-alone version
In the clip you can see us as we try to line up before the last turn in order to create a nice shot for the team video...
Just a small note regarding registering on our website:
If you already had an account on our old forum, you don't need to create a new account. We've been able to use the data tables of the old forum for the login system of our website
So just try to login with your old account (if you think you have one) and/or look in the members table here: http://www.1stracing.nl/v2/memberlist.php
before creating a new account.
Great to see many people registering though! We're working hard to get the extra registered-members-functionality online soon
As from the first of april 2007, 1ST » Racing is 2 years old!
We've also chosen that big day to introduce a new and more professional look for the team. This new look is a drastic change from the initial red/black/white look of the team. It includes a new set of skins with completely new color settings and a brand new website that's adapted accordingly.
The skins have been made by our very own skinning master Teemu 'Teaz-R' Vedenoja. We've specifically chosen for a very clean design which results in a more professional look. The new design is also focussed on an optimal display of the sponsor names. We're very happy with the new looks and hope you like it too!
The new website design was developed in-house, by Casper 'Kaspur' Roescher and myself. Apart from a news page and forum, it features a very nice login system with a lot of extra's for people that register on our website. You can choose your own avatar, post in our shoutbox and forum, and use the private messaging system. Future planned features are an online laptime competition for our registered members, stats comparison, and many more.
The member page has been updated too, with photo's, extended car and track statistics and other info about our drivers. In the mean time we're still working on a lot of other features for the website, but after two weeks of small scale public alpha testing (:razz we think the website's now ready to be shown to the big public. So if you're interested, come and have a look:
On our news page you can also find a nice article written by Albert 'Appie' Terrahe with an overview of what's happened with regards to team members, league participation and our achievements of this past year.
So we're looking forward to seeing you as a registered member on our website, or otherwise: see you on the track for our third year of LFS racing!
Thanks, René
PS The website is optimized for IE7 and FF, feel free to let us know when you find any bugs
PPS Finally I'd like to thank our sponsors Virtual Dynamix (website hosting) and Gservers (race- and TS server hosting) for their continuous support!
Just found a strange name bug which I haven't seen mentioned before. The screenshot should tell the story... FiredUp and 15 - R.Blauwhoff are the same person yet he's mentioned with those two different names. (FiredUp in chat and connection list, 15 - R.Blauwhoff over the car and in the standings list)
I think this is a wrong conclusion... there's only a few of those "second-life" servers and there are a hundreds of normal race servers. For a valid comparison of racing versus "cruising" you should compare the total popularity of allrace-orientated and allcruise-orientated servers.
Think of it this way: if there were only 3 race-orientated servers running, those would be packed all day too...
The story line seemed a bit random to me, but sweet mother of Jesus.... the editing is superb, the synchronisation excellent, effects amazing.. I don't even want to know how long it took to make this...
I've noticed this in a league race last night... I decided to do a late pitstop and changed my settings from R3's to R2's to be able to push in the last couple of laps.
When I came in for the pitstop it changed tyres, but in the end I also had to wait for "Setup Changes".
I think this is not realistic, because the tyres had already been mounted. I can understand when changing wing settings or camber settings lengthens the pitstop time, but in my opinion whether the imaginary pit crew mounts R3's, R2's or R4's, it shouldn't make a difference for pitstop duration.
