The black takes up a lot of room for what I would familiarize as a Pennzoil skin... but I am a sucker for yellow skins (love them), and always like Pennzoil ones. It would be cool if you used a bit more of a golden yellow to it, because Pennzoil yellow isn't really that color. I also have rarely ever seen a Pennzoil car with white on it used in that fashion. But hey it's fictional, who am I to say .
Either way, the design looks fine now, you could just get a little more creative with curves and coloring on the front end IMO. (rear area is fine once you get decals on).
There is plenty of room for a team-mate to reconnect, that is not a problem.
At the moment we cannot think of wild solutions that are not easily feasible for us right now... Scawen doesn't exactly cater to our special needs all the time . We have to look at the issue at hand here, and hope we have some honest teams to come forward. Any possible countermeasures to these intentional disconnects are going to be hard to implement, and we have to go with rather simple solutions until we get something satisfactory.
There have been a lot of bitmap tracing applications out there since vector first came out, and I am really curious if this is any better. No matter what though, the vector result won't look exactly to proportion and shape, but better than nothing I guess.
If a bitmap logo is a few colors, I usually recreate them by hand .
Actually I got something from #low already, so I think it is ok. You gave us: 24h Driver Quotes #low-racing.doc
So far we have a few other teams that have sent us quotes and post-race reports... all very much appreciated. If any other teams want to write something up (it doesn't have to be long!!!), please send them to us as soon as possible so we can write up our articles in the next day or two.
While looking at the proposed calendar, I have some skepticism about whether or not we should start at that time.
As I said in an earlier post in this thread, March 1st is MoE's penultimate round at Blackwood, and most nation's drivers will be participating I am sure (Argentina, England, USA, Germany, etc). Surely a different time for the races to begin could be managed.
But that isn't the real reason why I post here. I am worried with some countries and their amount of sign-ups, and the progress of this league so far. Team managers and skinners will have to get working on skins, and nothing is really 'intact' or moving right now it seems. Is this league really going to happen? Rules or procedures are not established, nothing is confirmed exactly either.
Just don't want this to be another dying Nations Cup if you know what I mean. :o Granted this is probably one of the toughest leagues to conceive and manage, I still think we are running out of time even after a month of waiting, and nearly a month to go.
We've only got some feedback from T7R at the moment, if you guys want to write something up tomorrow, we can put the quotes on after the results are posted.
But it would be nice if we can get some more quotes sent to us thanks!
Seeing that this race is about to come to a close with just several hours to go, I would like to see if we can get some quotes from the participating teams and/or drivers on how they feel they performed in the race, so we can use those quotes in a final writeup article after the race is over.
Try to answer topics like these, with a good amount of detail:
How would you rate your performance in this race?
Was your finishing position better or worse than you had expected?
What was your favorite moment during the race?
What was your worst moment during the race?
Did you enjoy this event?
After the race is over you can email them to us, please do not post the quotes here in the forum. Please submit them to admins [at] mastersofendurance.eu (the usual admin email) with the subject line 24h Driver Quotes: [TEAMNAME HERE]
I think this will bring some very good reads in our final report, and allow you all to see each team's side of the story in full form.
Not all teams are required to do this, it's just something to spice up the site with some fun reads. If you want to post some quotes here feel free, but if any team managers or drivers want to submit them to the admins instead, that is fine too. I just wanted to notify everyone of this idea before the race was over, to gauge some interest
Mika said he was going to nap for 2 hours... and that was said about an hour ago as I post this. I very much doubt he will be back after a 2 hour nap... it would be so hard to come back up from such a nice rest ^^. But kudos to him for broadcasting like 16 hours of the whole race. If he comes back, that will be great .
Or maybe I misunderstood, and he will be back for the last 2 hours of the race.
It seems some here are basing any ideas/opinions of this 'unlocking' on how the current Training lessons are.
If such a testing mode of gameplay was implemented in LFS, I am sure the training would be way more concise and more fun to do. I doubt very much that it would take WEEKS for someone to pass all tests... or let alone tests for cars they really want to drive. Though, I am sure there are lots of people out there that simply cannot drive worth a damn... and the testing is something they'd have to do to safely practice OFFLINE and then be well prepared to come online.
If the testing was implemented, I am sure anyone could pass at an Amateur level, and have the car unlocked. But there could still be the 'quick' and 'pro' goals other people wish to achieve.
I bet you that it would really only take about 5-10 minutes per car for an already experienced LFS player. That said, what are you so scared about? What makes it any different that you have to go do a test to drive a car? Sure... if you go and download the game the first time say... S2 Final is released, you'd have to go test, but so what, that's a new aspect of the game. And I've always said this time and time again... I'd do anything to have some new features (especially in gameplay) for LFS. And the training/testing aspect could be SO GOOD if Scawen gave it some time -- both aesthetically and visually.
Without such an unlocking system, LFS would yet again become barred of features, and the training lessons would just be for the people that 'think' they will benefit from driving in un-challenging situations.... or better yet, people that are bored and want to do nothing better than to earn 'nothing' for trying the lessons, if that makes any sense.
And speaking of camera views, please Mika can you do more onboard cams above the roof showing the track in front or out back.
Sometimes just track cameras can get boring, so switch it up a little . If we can get to watch (and hear) some cars onboard in cockpit view with no commentary for at least a lap or two, that would be cool as well.
Or even put a Shift+U camera at a cool location (like the esses of last split) and have it sit there for a little bit, showing cars fly past.
Get creative, and show off those signs of yours But I am sure you've got this all under control, this looks like it is going to be your best streaming coverage ever!
It kinda of seems strange to me to see a modern F1 car back with smooth slicks... almost unusual... especially for how long we had to bear with grooved ones.
