Thx for last years. I've joined this one for fun. I am glad I got Lewis' cap as a prize, but it looks awful to wear ... so I hang it near my desk at work. I don't browse this forum much anymore at all; only in cases like these I will search and post, so cya till the end of the season
I've also signed up for a paid competition on GPupdate.net... seems a little trickier but it'll keep me busy this F1 season.
If a debit card is the same thing that we have over here, I can say I safely used mine just fine.
One of the primary reasons they want the CC or any other form of 'card' purchase is because they want to know the name you have on the account.... That NAME is what you have while ingame, and everyone is using their real names. It's all pretty professional, and iRacing takes things seriously.
It is well worth the money if you are looking for something that tops all sims right now. And the last thing you'll want to read about iRacing in this forum is where people are complaining of the "colors" of the sim or something stupid like that . Play the sim, buy extra content, and realize just how bright of a future iRacing has right now. It's stupid not to try it. Papyrus-bred sims have always been the best, and always will be, no matter how bad the criticism. I understand people may not be able to afford it. But whether you have a job or not, save some bloody cash for crying out loud.
RSC is focused on GTR, rFactor, LFS (well a little), and so many other sims... I've nearly thrown out all of those sims just to play iRacing from now on. Old junk. Community elsewhere. Catchya later
EDIT: Oh and both Mazda and Radical are good. Radical is a handful on bumpy tracks too .
There is no point in having a FF brake, it wouldn't improve your driving one bit for a simulation... let alone if simulations output such data anyways. Good luck.
To be honest I think it is because they sold so many of their Prius in the last few years, the "loss" is being compared to how great their sales where in those previous quarters.
If I drive home late at night, I guarantee you that if I were to see 20 cars on the highway, 75% of them will be a Prius. Damn Prius....
As for F1, 09 is really starting to look as if it is headed into a very dark hole.
Alonso complaining about a car not having traction control, LMAO!!! He was an aids whore!!! (lol)
However, I do agree that many decisions made for F1's future is ruining the sport. I fear very few teams will be participating for next season. Cost of development, all these companies trying to save money, blah blah. F1 isn't ready for change at this point in time, it will just cost way too much... and be even MORE less-interesting that I may only watch it just to see if any teams can contest with Ferrari and McLaren.
So what do we have in store for 2009?
7 teams to race
Honda team for sale
Torro Rosso converting to shittier drivers
"Green"
Toyota is pessimistic more than ever
Hopefully Prodrive will enter as a team
Horrible looking aero packages
Slick tires
Force India backed by McLaren-Mercedes
Williams not doing jack shit
New Abu Dhabi track
Suzuka is back
German GP may be cancelled
KERS system that nobody gives a damn about
A budget cap
Driver adjustable bodywork/aero
BBC instead of ITV
Magny Cours cut from calendar
Alonso will have bigger eyebrows
Someone in Spain will punch Hamilton
I was browsing some F1 news today and came across an article about Hamilton explaining what parts of real-world tracks his ideal "dream" track would be comprised of.
He explains 10 of some of his favorite corners from a variety of circuits, but... it had me thinking... how do they all connect? As a fun experiment I decided to connect them all together as described.
I wonder if Hamilton has thought this through, or is this just a list of corners he loves? Still pretty funny. Especially the fact that he loves high G corners like the first 2... because we all know it takes a man like Lewis Hamilton to handle these extreme stresses on the driver.
Here is what I came up with:
(The missing track is a bit gray )
Statham's narrating is laughable, but otherwise it looks worthy of a DVD release soon, and I want it. So far there are only screenings across the globe... and it is winning some film festival awards.

This reminds me a lot of Speed Tribe, but that sucked.
LFS is only a small blip on the radar, always has been, always will be. And if you really think about it, what is so influential about it that it deserves a spot in this article?
This article is more about the progression of simulations. LFS was right in the middle of an era that has already passed, and is hard to recognize with the famous modding debacles that got loads more attention and return on producing new sims for the market (e.g. GTR). iRacing is starting a new era --- it's like GPL with a cherry on top.
I couldn't be any more obvious that Raikkonen had slowed down a few tenths each lap at the end there to give Massa a better points chance for the last race.... so stupid.
