I'd like to be there for an event. I am usually online every now and then in rFactor, and racing could be a lot better with people that know what they are doing!
I would write something here to reinforce all this, but all I'll get in return is a bunch of blind and indirect argumentative jibes to try and discount our country, the 'war', and how we react to these things. Better off not saying anything at all around here, and let you all speak into an endless circle I guess.
Next video/news comes along, new thread, same shit. I couldn't be more disgusted at both of those things to be honest. Keep exposing yourself, you won't get anywhere
Sorry if someone has mentioned it already, but have you put the Force Feedback to -100%? (errr Reverse FF) Positive 100% on all MOMO wheels will make rFactor feel really strange, and it has to be reversed to have the proper feel for some reason.
4.7 isn't so bad. Anything above 5 or 6 and you really feel it And things start to fall over .
Haven't had a big one here in a long while, but quakes around 4 or 5 every now and then. There are always little ones, but we never feel them. Waiting for the big one
Gives me new reason to watch more WTCC . If they start sucking like expected, I am not sure what to think.... continue watching? Or watch some other series?
If you flatspot a lot, two things you can do to fix it... AND conserve tire heat & wear.
1) Lower your brake power and put slightly more rear bias to the brakes.
2) Decrease your camber to something -2 or less. You may think you aren't cornering faster with lower camber, but it hardly does anything to your laptimes. As long as the outside edge of your tires aren't hotter than the middle or inside of the tires, you should be fine. The simple idea behind lowering camber is that you have more contact area on the track in order to help prevent locking up. If you have too high of camber, you have a much higher chance of locking up, especially a tire that is on the inside and unloaded under heavy braking. And even if you don't flatspot your tires, less camber will have much more even wear, and the life of the tire(s) will be much longer... so you can last much longer than normal.
Also note, most people are using R2s at the highest pressures, which also makes flatspotting easier. R2s heat up too fast now in Patch Y, so lowering the pressures of the tires really won't help for racing. But you can run lower PSI R3's easily, and your flatspotting and wear is taken care of, you'll just be about half a second slower at most.
Would be great to take that car up in the countryside to a hotel, only to wake up the next morning to the sound of woodpeckers poking holes everywhere in your car
It used to be called CART... it is America's Formula 1 so to speak. I grew up with CART, and ever since the IRL & Champ Car split, I haven't been really happy ever since. CART had great moments with Zanardi, Montoya, and many other great names. Back then in CART the champ car chassis was made for both oval and road courses and only they had to make aero changes when they came to the oval (thin little wings). But now the current Champ Car chassis is more of a road course one, and I wonder what they will do to make it drive on the oval. AND, I wonder what they will do with some of the IRL drivers, because I am sure more than half of the IRL teams will be out of a chance to drive in the new merged series.
Oh well, we'll see what happens, I am glad to hear this
