Hello again fellow TBO fans :eclipseeh Here's the signup thread for the #liveforspeed TBO round 5, week 15.
I'll be gone for the weekend so the signup list won't be updated during that time. Try to keep track yourself in the meantime to see if there's still room left (max 32)
We'll try a different host this time to see if it helps for those timeouts
The race is open for everyone to keep the number of racers above 15 (below this, and we'll try again next week). Racers will be accepted to the race in the order they've signed up in, so be quick. Sign-ups will be accepted until 17:30 UTC, race day (monday) - at this time, server and password information will be sent out in a forum PM.
The schedule for race day will be as follows: At 18:30 UTC the track is decided and practice starts.
15 min Practice
20 min Qualifying
5 min break
~20 min Race 1
5 min break
~40 min Race 2
Rules: Required 3% intake restriction for FXO, visit http://www.turbofun.tk/ for the rest of the rules, the points system and other stuff.
Was nice regardless of the bridge pileup but I can see how it didn't work for some.
Bad luck there Gener_Al and O'Brien
Then some optimistic driving which caused the first lap pileup in my opinion and other things but I guess nothing needs to be reported since all involved didn't finish anyway?
New signups will no longer be accepted after monday 18:30 UTC (an hour before the race). I will send the server password using the forum private message system at that time.
Passwords sent, I won't be reading this thread anymore. Cya on the host
This is the signup thread for the monday test race. Test is necessary to see if there's enough interest to start weekly races in a league sort of fashion. It's also for getting some feedback and to see how the server behaves.
First and foremost this is for the regular people on the #liveforspeed irc channel at irc.gamesurge.net. Edit: Signups open for everyone, accepting people in the order of the signups
The race is planned as follows:
When: Monday 2.3.09 19:30 UTC (10 minute practice starts, sharp. I guess you want to be there a bit before that ) Where: #liveforspeed (located in uk) Cars: TBO with 3% restriction for the FXO Track: To be randomized just prior to free practice out of a previously selected 'good ones' (tracklist below)
Free Practice: 10 minutes Qualifying: 20 minutes Races: 2 heats first one being a bit shorter than the second. Second heat with reversed finishing order. Whole event should be under 2 hours. Race#1 will be ~20 and Race#2 ~40 minutes. Breaks:at least 5 min after each session except practice to quali.
This post will be updated when more info comes along

Couldn't tell:
1. ChanServ
Race 'Etiquette'
1. If you have overtaken or blocked someone unfairly, do not say sorry, give the position back instead or risk being disqualified later from the points.
2. Be patient..especially in the second race. If you're in front, you will most likely be overtaken, many times. Generally you don't want to lose too much time defending your track position in such case, the rest of the field will catch up making it more difficult. And for the fast guys starting at the back, be patient also. There's good places to overtake 'safely' at, it might not be best strategy to stick your nose in at the first opportunity and risk a collision. (all IMO of course, it's up to you)
3. Don't cut on purpose
4. Don't chat during qualifying/race(s). You can fume or say you're sorry on this thread later
Yes of course, I just put 1 second there as it's commonly used 'by the experts'. Then again it's also clear that it takes longer when the situation is difficult and there's few options to choose from. Funnily enough, an amateur driver often doesn't think in this case and just slams the brakes and then turns the wheel which is exactly the right thing to do in most cases when you have ABS Yet again in some accident reviews it has been so that a driver who is considered to be skillful hasn't reacted for a very long time in any way.
Anyways, you'd have ~2 seconds to react in this case which is plenty in my opinion. (He said it isn't possible at all)
