Quote from JTbo :We never got even basic version of that Monaro here, but if would it would cost 70 000 or so

So it is impossible to me get one even I would have money, which luckily I don't have

I'm still running a car that is perhaps worth £100 there, 1000€ here, but it has surprised me how able it is for what it is

You definatly can have some fun in old beaters. I think that has more to do with that you don't care what happens to the car =)

Quote from LFSn00b :No! I want to try something new. How about... Ky GP Long and GTRs!

dang I missed like 3 polls =(

I would like to try out some single seaters aswell but the FXO GTR will work well too aswell as the XRG =)

For tracks I would love to AS cadet being used for the road cars and a mid size city course for the FXOGTR =)

Quote from DeKo :anybody have a decent mirror to download it from? i really like the look of it and want to give it a shot but its just impossible to download at 30 kb/s (which is the highest i get downloading it from the site)

Sorry =( I just let it download overnight.

Quote from tristancliffe :I've got an X850GT card in my Althon 4600 64 Dual Core machine, and I get horrible frame rates at Monaco too - much worse than anywhere else.

Might try turning off the forced AA/AF I use (which still gives me 160fps in LFS) and see if it helps, but I think Monaco is just very badly 'optimised'.

And the new hill climb track looks very plain and dull - I hope they add a little bit of life and tone down the textures a bit.

I don't really care for any of the other tracks in Netkar other than Monaco.

I don't use AA/AF so it could be the problem with low FPS. I get good ones here with my dual 6600's.

Quote from thisnameistaken :I tried a few laps of Monaco, got horrible FPS issues, gave up. Classic nK-Pro experience.

Sounds like you need a new video card =P

I like NKpro, but IMO it needs better online play and I won't really play the game.

I ran a PB of 1:34.872 witht e Ftarget at Monaco. What you guys running.

I love monaco, wow =)

Silverstone I am not very impressed with, is the track really that flat, i didn't think it was.

Montreal is nice, but nothing like Monaco =)

Quote from JTbo :It has only one problem, it is FWD

Sure, some like apples, some from bananas, I'm RWD/ proper AWD guy, haven't found FWD that I would been liking, even Volvo T4 with upped boost felt boring and slow, even it was everything else than slow, lot more power than srt-4.

But so it is in life, people like different things, most important is that there is car enthusiasts that do enjoy what they do and put good fight against goverments plans to kill all fun

If you haven't sign that car tax petition

Haha they had plenty on there already =)

I would rather have a RWD car but FWD fit into what I needed more.

I needed a daily driver thats good in all types of weather, that I could stack the wife and kids (yet to happen, thank god =) into the car and still have room for groceries or luggage. I get good gas milage (30mpg) and it drives like a normal car if you stay out of the turbo, (so wife can drive without me fretting TOO much when she does)

Then with the ACR I got Viper seats, adjustable tokico struts, stiffer spring rates, larger sway bar in the rear, and 16 inch BBS rims with 225's strapped on. Cost for cost I couldn't come within 15k with any other car for price practicality and performance. And because it still is basically a neon I will only pay about 300 pounds a year for insurance once I get my no claims bonuses.

Quote from JTbo :I have seen video of heavily modified srt car, he accelerated really fast from lights and other car was M3 I think that could not keep up at all, actually that srt car had lot of grip issues in 1st gear, then after he shifted 3rd gear it did broke down, can't remember if it was box or engine, hmm, I think it was this piston trough block issue that he got, but also I think that car had AWD so maybe it was not srt after all, my memory is not too good

I think he built much better engine after that, but never saw video from that.

Quite rare car that is then, no wonder we never got that here, only very few of those basic model Neons here that seem to be really low powered even engine is not so small.

I see you have there also Quaife diff, that is really nice unit, beats any other LSD solution in terms of grip (ok, electronically controlled active diff is better, but how many has one?), because more power is going to tire that has more grip, Audi has similar way working Torsen diff, best for racing those two, imo.

Yeah the quafe diff is great, although it never 'offically' locks it does keep both wheels going well.

Modified SRT's have major traction issues because they are FWD. The other thing that might cause traction problems is that people can pump out over 800 brake HP out of these engine blocks.

Stock for Stock you cannot find a better car for the money. I paid something like 13k pounds for the car that has a 7 year bumper to bumper warrenty.

It won't keep up with the new 911's but it will keep up with the Carrera's and boxters.

It was also faster than the old STi but the new 06 STi is a beast =) Same with the EVO. 05 and earlier it could keep up but with the new evo I wouldn't stand much of a chance.

For me thats not the point the point is he defecated on something that over 15k people come to visit. It doesn't matter he didn't do anything serious. He attacked LFS and the LFS community no matter how much wrapping paper and nice little bows you attach he did something that should not be done.

Quote from Davo :Wouldn't it work out better just to buy one when you moved? The shipping probably costs a heap and not to mention its left hand drive.

Normally yeah. My car is a 2005 dodge SRT-4 ACR. Only 1175 were ever built of the ACR's and only 424 were Black like mine.

Haha I don't take anything too seriously, but I do try to give out correct information...

For the V8 boys out there this is the closest 4 banger you will get that puts out power figures like a V8. Pulls like a V8 thats for sure, I am myself a fan of big displacement engines (IE viper) and this engine they put in the SRT-4's rock.

Porshe's will be begging for mercy =) well maybe not an S4 but definatly a Carrera.

Not sure really, but I would guess something in the 14's And as you know I have my car running 13.7's =) Gotta love Dodge and their factory equipment =)

Wow those tires were bad. What was the tire size, profile, and speed rating.

Mine are 225/45/R16 W rated BFgoodrich KDW2 TA's and I don't have a problem. I definatly dont hit my factory BBS's on the ground during a corner, even at 35PSI, I do scrub off the little arrows on the tire though.

Well my prouf is that nobody in their right mind would run 30PSI in their street tires on a track. try it and see what happens. I can almost gaurentee that those tires will be toast within a few laps and will roll over easier than anything I have ever seen.

Soory I don't have any graphs depicting this, I wouldn't know where to start in the first place. I am going off of personal experience with a car thats equivelent to an FXO, well faster actually, and runs performance street tires

Quote from dynofiend :because when using 'trackday' type tyres or even full slicks, the massive amount of extra grip they provide requires the entire suspension setup to be revised, often needing spring rates to be increased 2 or 3 times over standard, as well as damping rates. Most people cant afford this, or simply dont want to have a car with such stiff suspension for the times it isnt being used on track.

Gimpster is trying to say that the road tires give over too easy this has nothing to do with revised susupensions. Gimpster has a car and has taken it onto autocross tracks and he is saying that the street tires in LFS flex too much to compair with their RL counterparts.

I think he is partly right. They do flex too much in LFS but I think that has to do with the low pressures that are used with the road tires. In RL you run performance street tires at 50PSI or so on a track to prevent the sidewall from leaning over too far and damaging the sidewall which you don't have to worry about in LFS so everyone runs 25 pounds or so because thats where optimum grip is, even for performance street tires.

You don't put 50 PSI in steet tires in RL because thats where optimum grip is, you do it purely to prevent the sidewalls from giving out is what I am trying to say. IF RL sidewalls didn't give out and breakdown then everyone would be running 30PSI or so...even on the track like LFS.

Quote from JTbo :Yes and also they surely use lot more pressure than any LFS setup. Twice at least.

Maybe for drifting, but in LFS the race tires, for the GTR's are not that far off for pressures, it's the road tires I think have the issue when you can run 25 PSI and not have sidewall issues.

Well you are right in a way but it would take something like 3000 races in bronze server then another 4000 or so or more depending on what car you use so it could take you as many as 7000 races or more. I don't know the exact figures for attaining a new license though so I cannot be exact.

Quote from Breizh :Specifically?

He means get some better tires =P in RL the tires would not flex this easy if they were performance tires. I don't know honestly. I think they flex about right, it's the problem that everyone runs such low tire pressures bcause the sidewalls don't damage themselves. In RL you would be using street tires at almost 50PSI not 20-25 for sprint sets used in LFS
