I would rather have a RWD car but FWD fit into what I needed more.
I needed a daily driver thats good in all types of weather, that I could stack the wife and kids (yet to happen, thank god =) into the car and still have room for groceries or luggage. I get good gas milage (30mpg) and it drives like a normal car if you stay out of the turbo, (so wife can drive without me fretting TOO much when she does)
Then with the ACR I got Viper seats, adjustable tokico struts, stiffer spring rates, larger sway bar in the rear, and 16 inch BBS rims with 225's strapped on. Cost for cost I couldn't come within 15k with any other car for price practicality and performance. And because it still is basically a neon I will only pay about 300 pounds a year for insurance once I get my no claims bonuses.
Yeah the quafe diff is great, although it never 'offically' locks it does keep both wheels going well.
Modified SRT's have major traction issues because they are FWD. The other thing that might cause traction problems is that people can pump out over 800 brake HP out of these engine blocks.
Stock for Stock you cannot find a better car for the money. I paid something like 13k pounds for the car that has a 7 year bumper to bumper warrenty.
It won't keep up with the new 911's but it will keep up with the Carrera's and boxters.
It was also faster than the old STi but the new 06 STi is a beast =) Same with the EVO. 05 and earlier it could keep up but with the new evo I wouldn't stand much of a chance.
For me thats not the point the point is he defecated on something that over 15k people come to visit. It doesn't matter he didn't do anything serious. He attacked LFS and the LFS community no matter how much wrapping paper and nice little bows you attach he did something that should not be done.
Normally yeah. My car is a 2005 dodge SRT-4 ACR. Only 1175 were ever built of the ACR's and only 424 were Black like mine.
Haha I don't take anything too seriously, but I do try to give out correct information...
For the V8 boys out there this is the closest 4 banger you will get that puts out power figures like a V8. Pulls like a V8 thats for sure, I am myself a fan of big displacement engines (IE viper) and this engine they put in the SRT-4's rock.
Porshe's will be begging for mercy =) well maybe not an S4 but definatly a Carrera.
Well I am finally shipping my car. Working out the details ATM but it's looking like I will be driving my SRT-4 in the UK by the second week in April. Just in time for some trackdays and a bit of drag racing =) I can't wait :cheer:
Not sure really, but I would guess something in the 14's And as you know I have my car running 13.7's =) Gotta love Dodge and their factory equipment =)
Wow those tires were bad. What was the tire size, profile, and speed rating.
Mine are 225/45/R16 W rated BFgoodrich KDW2 TA's and I don't have a problem. I definatly dont hit my factory BBS's on the ground during a corner, even at 35PSI, I do scrub off the little arrows on the tire though.
Well my prouf is that nobody in their right mind would run 30PSI in their street tires on a track. try it and see what happens. I can almost gaurentee that those tires will be toast within a few laps and will roll over easier than anything I have ever seen.
Soory I don't have any graphs depicting this, I wouldn't know where to start in the first place. I am going off of personal experience with a car thats equivelent to an FXO, well faster actually, and runs performance street tires
Gimpster is trying to say that the road tires give over too easy this has nothing to do with revised susupensions. Gimpster has a car and has taken it onto autocross tracks and he is saying that the street tires in LFS flex too much to compair with their RL counterparts.
I think he is partly right. They do flex too much in LFS but I think that has to do with the low pressures that are used with the road tires. In RL you run performance street tires at 50PSI or so on a track to prevent the sidewall from leaning over too far and damaging the sidewall which you don't have to worry about in LFS so everyone runs 25 pounds or so because thats where optimum grip is, even for performance street tires.
You don't put 50 PSI in steet tires in RL because thats where optimum grip is, you do it purely to prevent the sidewalls from giving out is what I am trying to say. IF RL sidewalls didn't give out and breakdown then everyone would be running 30PSI or so...even on the track like LFS.
Maybe for drifting, but in LFS the race tires, for the GTR's are not that far off for pressures, it's the road tires I think have the issue when you can run 25 PSI and not have sidewall issues.
Well you are right in a way but it would take something like 3000 races in bronze server then another 4000 or so or more depending on what car you use so it could take you as many as 7000 races or more. I don't know the exact figures for attaining a new license though so I cannot be exact.
He means get some better tires =P in RL the tires would not flex this easy if they were performance tires. I don't know honestly. I think they flex about right, it's the problem that everyone runs such low tire pressures bcause the sidewalls don't damage themselves. In RL you would be using street tires at almost 50PSI not 20-25 for sprint sets used in LFS
