I can't believe you seriously consider supporting a company that fracked over an entire modding community? Ok, so they changed their name from First to iRacing, but that doesn't fool anyone. Or does it?
And what about Nascar Heat, and especially mods for it. That sim keeps me just as busy as LFS does. And it's a heck of a lot better than anything coming from EA
Oh please continue. This is the pefect tool for a league admin. Lot's of stats in an easy to read fashion. Plus... I like that it lists what aids people are using.
I don't hate rFactor. In fact, I think the entire idea of rFactor is great. Release a working mod platform. They hoped that rFactor might just be the next Sportscar GT.
I am however very disapointed in the mod community. There are a a precious few mods for rFactor that stands out as quality, but the most is plain and utter crap.
If the modders get their act together and stop rushing out their projects and then infest the community with patches here and there, it could become so much better.
1) Formula 1 Grand Prix - My first contact with racing sims ever.
2) Sportscar GT - The "Wow" feeling was incredible.
3) Nascar Heat - The most underestimated sim ever.

I know how it should work but it doesn't. It keeps giving me error messages, no matter what. And yes, I've deleted and redownloaded (several times) to rule out the possibility of a corrup download. And yes, I did empty the temporary internet files folder. Still, I get the same error message. The same I've gotten with every 7-Zip archive I've downloaded from here. It just doesn't work on my system.
I like the idea but...
It's slow as heck. 8FPS on an Dual Core AMD 5200+ with 2Gb RAM and a GeForce 7900, with the default settings (medium everything). That's to slow. It's not even funny. For this to sell, I'd say it needs to look as good as LFS and run as smooth.
So I give it A for originality but F for quality. If you get the FPS up along with much better image quality, and perhaps get a few roadcourse races (Grand-Am anyone?) in there, I'd say it's a winner.
As many others I use fraps to capture video from LFS and then import it into Moviemaker. With my old AMD 2400+, this worked like a charm, but with my new AMD Dual Core 5200+ it hangs and stops responding. Same version fraps, same version WindowsXP and same resolution.
Anyone has any idea what causes this? Is there another (free) tool to turn videos captured with fraps into useable size and formats?
Back on topic.
Both knees ache after 20 minutes and my neck stiffens and starts to hurt after about 40 minutes. And if I'm not carefull, I get aching wrists as well after a while. Dangerous stuff being a sim racer
hmm... could someone please pack up the files as a normal .ZIP or .RAR archive for me? This 7-zip exe doesn't work for me. I get a "is not supported archive" message when I try to run it
Oh don't worry... One of these years now, the Swedish group "After Dark" will finally win and repressent Sweden in ESC. Then you will see an entire stage full of drag queens over 45 years old
I think that's a great idea.
I use a countdown timer to the next race on SCORE just ot make sure poeople from different timezones doesn't calculate wrong. Works like a charm, even for those leaving/entering DST.
