Great video
A little too jerky in places for my taste, but really show off a good piece of the action

There should be 6 hours difference between the two races. To avoid confusion about all this, the times listed on SCORE are GMT (Zulu) times which never changes. There is also a countdown clock on the site for both the divisions, and one can clearly count 6 hours apart on them

This means that when it's 20:00 GMT (Zulu) it's 22:00 in most of Central Europe and 4pm in New York (Why most Americans only have 12 hours on their clock I'll never know ). Six hours later (GMT 02.00), it's 10pm in New York, 9pm in Chicago, and 7pm in Vancouver and the North American division is about to race, having done the warmup and qualifying.

Trust in GMT. GMT is good and wise to use since it doesn't care for Daylight Saving Time or any such stuff. Just keep track of GMT and you will find your race time.

And with that signup, the European division is full, thanks a lot
And it is also my pleasure to announce that more than half the seats are taken in the North American division. No more races with just half a dozen drivers there

See you on the grid

I'm hoping that more will sign up for the North American division during the week. I know that there are at least a few FXR drivers in the LOTF team who probably could find this fun

After the last update, I'm pretty pleased with LFS, and think the devs really could use a break. But when they come back to work I would like to se a much evolved automatic penalty system (possible connected to an evolved flag system), that makes it easier to admin leagues. Sort of save the admin the trouble it means to hand out penalties after a race.

Despite all troubles with emails and the fact that for some reason my own server lagged as hell, the race was run almost on time. Big thanks to the ITEK guys for setting up the server so quickly.

We do have troubles with emails it seems. I sent an email to everyone who had signed up, but for some reason a few of them never came trough. Since none of the emails has bounced back, I can only imagine that the spam filter ate them for supper.

18 started in Europe, 13 finished. Any and all complaints (should there be any) may be emailed to me as soon as possible. If I hear no complaints within 24 hours from end of the race, I will post the results as official on SCORE.

See you all on Fern Bay Green I hope

But you can change some setups while on track and then stop in the pits for them to take effect. I find this very usefull when trying to set the best camber angle for a track/car combo.

The idea of the AI following real life drivers is good and is used by (as I've said before) Nascar Heat. It works by creating a hotlap for the AI as "guide" for them. They still have to make some desisions on their own though, like where to do a takeover and when to pit for fuel and repairs.
Over all this system works pretty good, and I think it's one of the best ways to create AI ever seen. But if it's possible for LFS I don't know.

One drawback is that in Nascar Heat, everyone has to have the same hotlap as guide if you go online, or else cars will warp and behave very odd. Other than that, the system is pretty flawless.

--- Edit ---
Just thought about it for a while. A Hotlap guided AI together with the current learning system might just prove to be awesome

By email about one hour before European start

No, not really. Even if we move it a little it wont help. There's a six hour difference now, and still some of the wescoast guys just barely can make it home from work and eat a little something before they sit down and race.
And on this side, I can't go much later cause of my work (always work nights) and a lot of other guys need their beauty sleep. I'm affraid it has to e this way, and we can only hope that more North Americans sign up as time goes.

Plenty of room BlueSkunk
I got bandwidth enough for 20 drivers including me, and there's only 13, possibly 14 signed up for the European division. Éven more room in the North American division, so anyone who wold like to run should be able to

Got agree about a LMP car. We got all kinds of racing possibilities in LFS now, but we're missing those LMP900 and LMP675 cars. Imagine a field with mixed class racing running LMP's, big GTR's and small GTR's
But we should probably ask Scawen very nicely if he could increase the number of possible cars on track at once before such a race

Doing pretty stable mid to low 43's here. I count on being left behind after a few corners and will try to beat the competition by being consistant and don't crash into anything

Yeah, where are they? I know of at least one more Canadian probably signing up. That would make it 3 to 1 on track for Canada against USA. Can't have that now can we?

Indeed it is, and the previous plate has been replaced with this one. Thanks

Indeed it will be interesting. And since the signups are starting to drop in, it might be crowded in turn 1
North American division could use a few more drivers though. Plenty of time to sign up and start practicing

I've tested a bit and the race length will be around 40 minutes (give or take a couple here or there) which means that for the Eastcoast, the race will end around 10:40pm. I know this is a little late for some, but since we should give the Westcoast guys a chance to come home and have something to eat after work, it's actually the best we can offer.
