I think they are a good thing. It's inevitable some mods will be poor, but their existence is not really a problem for me...just ignore them.
My biggest disappointment with mods is the lack of use of them online. There really are some truly great mods already that would make great race servers, but no one seems to run them or be interested in joining them.
I guess I should not be surprised though as it was similar in Assetto Corsa; plenty of triple A quality mods, but they never get used online. People rather stick to official content.
Nice mod idea and this has potential, already quite fun. But please adjust the engine sound to reduce the clipping, it's terrible at the moment (and a complete distorted mess starting on a grid with a few cars).
This is an easy fix. Like I said, all the hard stuff is looking good and has a lot of potential...please keep at it!
There is one version. But trust me...avoid. The track is about twice as wide as it should be and just looses everything that is great about this circuit.
There is some one working a scratch version, so hopefully we can get that in a few months.
If want some good V8 tracks, try Barbagallo/Clipsal/Pukehoe- they are good fun. Think they are all on Race Department.
Ahh yeah, sorry guys. Combo only lasts for a week (Wed to Wed)then we change. We are on MX5 @ Brigdehampton now. But still, give that Nissan (The S2 version) a go offline, it's great fun! Well worth having in your collection of mod cars.
We would be very pleased if you would try out the current combo too. Again, it is very nice, suits the Miata very well. It's been pretty dead on the server this week, not many times up. Tomorrow at about 20:00 BST is when the server will be most likely to be populated.
Hey, thanks again for stopping by! Tomorrow (Monday) is when we normally have most racers on the server, at around 20:00. So if your around and feel like popping in, that would be cool.
And please come on to Dead Men Racing Assetto Server (search DMR in the lobby) to have some races / set a lap time http://77.108.135.2:42223/lapstat Server is most likely to be populated around 20:00.
This car really reminds of the XRT (with a bit more power obviously) and it's a blast at Donignton, who wouldn't want to race an XRT around there? Also, I don't use crap mods with bad physics etc, I have a pretty high standard. So give it a try, you won't be wasting your time, I promise.
Are the physics any good? I wish the guys who did V8 factor mod for Rfactor would work on a AC V8 version. I thought the V8 factor in Rfactor nailed the physics, grip/power/oversteer/sound/etc, they were so fun to drive.
I think most of us know how bad AC is compared to LFS when it comes to MP and hosting/running a server. A lot of people don't seem to realise how good it could be (they have never played LFS ).
The more Kunos see people are interested in them improving this area of the game the more likely they will be to do something about it.
Feel free to leave any of your own (reasonable) suggestions. Or rate the thread / give me a "like". This is for us, not just me. Of course, keep it civilised and constructive !
Do they really think we will believe it was a accident or over sight? lol
Andy Wilman needs to go if you ask me. I think he is the cause of everything wrong with top gear from the silly scripted events to the silly provocative things they do to cause controversy. All the presenters are top notch.
I really like hi-res textures and I can easily notice the difference on track while racing and while parked in the pits or spectating, for example. The difference between Standard textures and the Hires pack for FernBay for example is pretty big and easily noticeable (especially when you use high Anisotropic filtering). As is the difference with the hi res Texture pack for the Rally tracks. They look far, far better. I don't know how the difference could not be noticed while racing, unless you had texture filtering too low or where running a very low screen res. :? .
The only "negative" for me with Hi res textures is the longer load time, which honestly I don't care about. My FPS are unaffected.
I would like to add though, that I do now appreciate LFS's minimalist approach to hardware usage, especially now I have Assetto Corsa. I'm happy for LFS to stay as the ultra smooth and fluid online racer with clean, clear, sharp graphics. While Assetto is my full fat eye candy machine for racing.
