Can't believe it's been more than 7 years and we are still waiting for S3. How's sales/sponsoring for the trio over these years? Any ETA? I still am hopeful of celebrating S3 with all LFS'ers out there.

Quote from Si Mclaren :I have to disagree with you... Most good setups I got on the track, calling to other users.

I recomend the OP, to ask sets to the good drivers in the server, specially the ones who drive with the same controller than you, and store a lot of them from same track.

Every setup has a different feeling, some understeer in corner X, some oversteer, some has a good control, and there you go...

Thanks Si. I used to do it! If time allows I'd really want to pick up the old reference documents I downloaded back when I played F1 Challenge 09-22 and start where I left off!

It's been some years! Recently bought a G27 and started playing again (btw not that much better than my previous MS Sidewinder FF wheel considering the price difference!).

I remember back then (2006), LFS World hotlap chart would allow you to download directly the setup of the time setter of a certain submitted lap, but now I have absolutely no idea where to have them.

I am not lazy to set up the car myself, I am simply clueless how and where to start.

From a Chinese point of view, today's highlights have been Yang Wei winning his first ever Olympic gold in gymnastics men's all-around, Zhang Juanjuan beating the Koreans (woot^^) for the archery women's individual title, the first gold in archery for China, the women's team losing by 1 point to Ukraine in sabre team final, and Li Na beating Venus Williams in the quarters! Well probably even more, can't recall now, but the above are all thilling competitions to watch.

For the equestrian events, I gather that Germany has a dream team also. And what's with the Water Cube, even 5th placed contestants are breaking the previous world records!

Quote from tristancliffe :Great race, but disappointed the horse managed to keep him behind But I don't think 12 points is enough to clinch the championship, so hopefully it'll go down to the wire.

Why ITV can't be bothered to show the full press conference, and cut to Mark Blundell the blifering idiot who can't speak properly I don't know... But at least the irritating Team Chicken ad breaks have gone.

Istanbul friggin rocks.

It's an improvement from ITV actually, they used to cut right after the winner finishes the first question!

Quote from deggis :Maxthon is just IE "mod". So it simply sucks as much as IE sucks.

Thanks for that. I am giving it a try now, and it goes very well for the momet. (Never mind the little problem, just sorted it out)

I used Maxthon(very similar to Firefox) for a while, nothing too special really, it's all a question of habit to me. Later on I went back to the IE routine.

Quote from Becky Rose :Lol, is there room for a fuel tank !

Sorry everyone, I think I misreported the engine details. 6.5L is the size of the fuel tank, and the size of the cylinder was not mentioned. And the top speed should be corrected to 60km/h.

Their passion and spirit is appreciable, and considering they made up this car out of some crappy materials like their beds and doors, the effort and craft is mammoth.

On another note, their wives left them because they don't "work" and the families have been experiencing financial hardship.

Quite remarkable, but quite mad as well.

In LFS probably it could only outpace the UF1 and the like.
First "F1" car in China homemade

Two orphaned brothers in Tangshan, China, devoted themselves in making cars some 10 years ago. Before this "F1" model, named the Star of Brothers, they'd already built 3 other cars.

The two brothers lost their father in the devastating Tangshan earthquake in 1976, when they were still teensters. Their father used to be a driver, and once told his boys that "we Tangshanese could build the first locomotive in China, when you grow up you could build your own cars as you like."

Since then, the love for cars and making cars never stopped for the brothers. But this hobby also takes up almost all their time, and in order to make the "F1" model, they had to break their double beds and the theftproof doors to use as materials. Then, in the 20 square-meter motorbike repair shop they used to run, the first "F1" car in China was born.

They dedicate this car to their father and to the 30th anniversary of the disaster.

Manufacturer: Zhao Xiushun, Zhao Xiuguo
Car name: Star of Brothers
Dimensions: 3100mm×1250mm×1100mm
Engine: 6.5L 4 stroke air cooling
Transmission: Automatic gearbox
Top speed: 160k/h
Oil type: Petrol, Alcohol
Fuel efficiency: 2.8L/100km

I never get it why people will want to cheat like this to get pole or win a race, I mean that doesn't make you a better race does it?

And supposedly if you are much slower than what you qualified, you will be overtaken by more fellow racers who are actually better than you. Isn't that quite sad?
Is LFS on show at the US GP this weekend??

Meet Alonso and Schumacher at Indianapolis

27 June 2006

Reigning world champion Fernando Alonso and Ferrari's Michael Schumacher are just two of the Formula One stars scheduled to meet race fans at Indianapolis on Thursday. They and a host of other drivers will be participating in public Q&A and autograph sessions as part of the build-up to Sunday’s United States Grand Prix.

Other famous names due to take part are Juan Pablo Montoya, Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christijan Albers, Jenson Button, Christian Klien, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Franck Montagny, Tiago Monteiro, Takuma Sato, Ralf Schumacher and Mark Webber.

The autograph sessions will take place from 0900 to 1500 hours in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Pagoda Plaza. A separate wristband is required for entry to each driver’s session and these will be distributed in the Plaza from 0800 onwards.

Meeting the drivers will not be the only draw on Thursday. Fans will also be able to take a close look at the Formula One teams’ garages and cars, in the now traditional public pit walkabout. This takes place between 0800 and 1200 and is open to anyone holding a race-day ticket.

Other Thursday attractions will include a display of cars from the famous IMS Hall of Fame Museum, photo opportunities with the US Grand Prix’s grid girls, live music and a special Bridgestone display featuring one of Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari race cars along with two Formula One racing simulators.

Quote from Gunn :F1 is well-managed. It isn't managed by the FIA though.

By FOM who recently have a plan to do something about sites like youtube where fans share F1 vids.

It gave me total satisfaction to tick the "strongly disagree" boxes, on options like "is F1 well managed" or "do you want to see this and that on your mobile".
