Scawen has said (I believe) that the aero effects of the undertray isn't modelled nor is lift YET...

I realize there is adjustable FOV (can't get used to it... use default) and gadgets like TrackIR, but....

What if the LEFT and RIGHT views were tacked onto the sides of the virtual mirror, sized accordingly as an option.


Just a thought that might help clean things up a little bit on the track.

All fine with me.... In the old days you wouldn't have any FOV options.... did people refuse to buy racing sims because of it?

All I do with any sim these days is adjust the seat as hi as it will go, and adjust the distance from the dash to where it is comfortable (sometimes back sometimes forward) and thats it.

GTL and LFS are the first mp racing sims I've ever run on a 19" CRT, I ran GPL, GTR2002 etc on 17" or less... I don't see the problem.

Mebbe its just a "My way is the right way, and your way is wrong...."

Not everyone will be happy, but it seems the minority sure wants to be vocal +)


Usually in prime time in the US there are 10 times as many LFS servers as players (mebbe even more than that) a hardcore server would NOT reduce the number of available servers, as there are 200 other servers you can't race on because of the lack of anyone to race with!! Ya never know... you might find that the players that are online actually congregate on a HC server because they prefer it, and you might get used to it... heaven forbid.

I don't see why not....

Hell while they're at it how hard could it be to offer a choice of power plants, each with its own characteristics...

I have'nt a preferred FOV. I never touched the default in-car view FOV!
When I play LFS (rarely) I use the default in-car view.
Never touched its FOV.
Papyrus decided what FOV to use in their Hard Core Mode? ... Ok! I played it without problems!!!!
LFS Crew will decide what FOV to use in an eventual LFS Hard Core Mod? ... OK, I'll play without problems.
For me default in-car view FOV is good

Viewing a Tobacco/Cannabis/Booze/Mcdonalds advert on a skin will not make you start smoking/eating/drinking more of whatever the skin is advertising if you do not want it in the first place.

Of course someone had to take my post incorrectly, your reply should have been directed at the starter of this thread not I, as I think you and I are both on the same side of this discussion.

I have no objections to any skin someone could dream up for LFS,(well mebbe draw the line at Kelly Clarkson, or feminine hygene products...) I am also against censorship. One thing I can't get enough of though... is options +) More options make it possible to please more people, please more people, and you could theoretically lead to a larger piece of the pie....

BUT, perhaps something could be put in place in LFS or LFSW that permits the users to filter out skins they do not wish to download. Perhaps something like 'ratings'. A skin containing tobacco ads or marijuana leaves could be classed as 'M' for Mature, and users could choose to filter out (not auto download) any skin rated as 'M'.

In Anton's case its not packetloss in the sense most of us think it is. The packets are getting lost between his modem and his CPU. This is purely a USB issue, and I think swapping to an ethernet modem would solve this right away.

Anton do you know anyone with an ethernet modem you could at least test with?

I said above, cockpit view with wheel and arms off.

My only issue with the current system, is the limits placed on that head position. I'd love to be able to adjust it up just abit, I would also like to see some sideways adjustment, not much, say enough to move the view 2-3 inches to the right.

I use LHD, and in the FXO (i think) its a b#tch seeing the walls in left hand turns on SO due to the pillar.

But even with that issue, I won't stray from the cockpit view, its how I have been driving racing games on the PC forever....

Well the USB modem I think is definitely the reason, now to figure out how to solve the problem...

Now perhaps the issue doesn't surface once the game is started and then the wheel connected based on priorities given to the devices I don't know as I have never used a USB modem (and never will so long as I have a choice)

Seriously suggest you try and get a different modem if you can.... If you can't ... guess we can both try google...

Are you using a usb modem?
Could the network card be sharing an IRQ with the wheel...

Both of these would create issues only when online...
