Yo dawg, I herd you like trucks, so we put a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck, so you can on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck on a truck...
Thank you. :] It may be precise but it takes me dozens of attempts. In a real life event I'd probably knock over half the obstacles and break my gearbox in the meantime. Those Autotest Videos you linked are amazing to watch, I'm still baffled everytime I see them.
One of them is not "russian", he's got a Lithuanian flag next to his name. Maybe you know some details that I lack of.
However why would you ban them? Report their posts and that's it. Them posting a screenshot is not proof of using a crack. (Although we both know that's BS)...
Besides, even if you ban them, so what? It's not going to keep them from using their cracked version and it's not going to keep them from creating another account.
Anyways more pictures please! There were some decent ones last page.
Good skin, but you should sort out the stretching issues. Also the most significant lettering ("TEXACO") is in a generic font, not the original one. Your skin is not as detailed as you probably think.
Also you could add an optional version without the Sierra mask (and possibly without Ford emblems), although it does fit the XRT better than most other fronst masks do in LFS.
As with many things, there's many different shades of grey in between. LFS is not dead, but it is hardly alive. LFS can hardly breathe and is slipping into coma. Of course there are still some visitors stopping by every now and then. Despite the doctors' numerous attempts of treatment, LFS' condition seems to worsen with every month and close ones don't have the energy to maintain hopeful.
"Doesn't take much of an intellect to work [...] out" that phrases like these are being looked at with great care or even some bitterness by today's gaming communities. We've heard it all before, so don't be disillusioned about how many people won't believe anything developers (or even worse: publishers) say, until proven otherwise.
However I'm glad Scawen views things the way he does. He doesn't enforce that everything works as intended and issues will be fixed soon™. And I'm pretty sure if nothing else, money income will be the deciding factor if there is a lack of motivation. So we have a steady development in a pace ScaViEr feel comfortable with to look forward to.
Anyways I hope they have taken a break by now, merry Christmas!
The BP idea is pretty cool actually but be sure to get permission by the original creator. Weird though that he didn't place his own name in the skin file.
Despite that, Scawen has explained the DirectX stuff numerous times. He made it clear that the switch to DX9 opened a lot of doors and that he doesn't plan on converting (hue) to the newer versions.
NTO (NewTweakOrder) is another tweaking program, with a lot of options for all the non-Demo cars, but one or two drawbacks. That's why I use both programs at the same time.
I have a seperate 0.6E installation as that's what these program run with. If you have 0.6F you can simply swap the lfs.exe with the 0.6E version (Scawen attached it to a post some time ago), however with 0.6G this is not possible anymore.
The Server I usually join to fiddle with tweaks is 42D MultiMod. Most of the time it's populated by drifters and drag racers and half the time there's an open config track on, so racers have to be lucky.
That insurance policy is just bollocks. Novice drivers are more likely to damage their cars in general, can we agree on that? So wouldn't it be better if it were a cheap car, so the insurance doesn't have to pay as much for repairs/replacement? Novice drivers (mostly young folks) want cheap cars and that, amongst other things, means they will most likely choose a reliable car with reasonably priced spare parts available.
Also modern cars IMHO generally have less responsive gas pedals, gear boxes, their brakes and clutches require less effort to actuate, the steering is lighter and feels less responsive. I mean it's "easier" to drive fast, modern cars also have better acoustic insulation so you don't quite hear as much going on with your car.
Additionally the visibility has become worse and worse over the years, while affordable cars usually don't have radar sensors, so parking accidents are more likely to happen in modern cars as well.
I couldn't find any data sheets for 90's BTCC cars but modified the FXO with NTO and LFS-Tweak.
965kg
2.0L R4 (sounds better :P)
298 PS @ 8100 rpm, rev limit is 9000
6-speed box, 1st usable to 110 km/h, top speed ~260 km/h
slick tyres
Only thing I can't have tweaked is aerodynamics (downforce) and suspension type/travel (I want 19" wheels that hide under the fenders *_*). Anyways it's a very enjoyable car to drive, nothing quite like the XFR though - in a positive way! Oh and it makes a nasty sound.
Not realistic in any way. Nobody builds 3,6L V8 with 500hp for a street car, also these kind of cars weigh in at 1,4 tonnes minimum. The slicks make no sense because nobody would use the street tyres. Also the wing is far too big for a street (legal) car, yet the diffuser is only 30cm long and ground clearance is only surpassed by Offroaders, so it's not a race car either.
You can't just merge a race and street car into one, not without serious compromises.
I've made a 4-door FXO myself, you shouldn't stretch the wheelbase, not by half a metre anyways! 2/3 and 4/5 door variants mostly have the same basic shape, just that the 2/3 door version has longer doors (so that rear passengers can get in more easily). And if it has to be Diesel fueled, why not call it FXD?
Edit: Just finished something I had lying around. Screwed up the O.Z. wheels' brakes at some point, CBA to correct that.
Dunno what it says underneath, but that image is mirrored.
Done that in the past, if I ride at a decent pace I will deepfreeze my hands, knees and face while overheating underneath everything covered in clothes.
Well all of them are FWD though. :P Not that I would mind such cars either, the XFR already has most of the necessary ingredients except for dimensions (wheelbase too short, COG too high).
Anyways I remember "back in the day" when a second car for S3 was announced the Photomode Competition's theme revolved around what car that could be. Feel free to speculate about RAC or RB4 GTRs, MRT6, LX8 or the next dozen of XR variants, I just hope it's going to be something original once more (and not a Formula car^^).
Sometimes? From what us users can see content has been put on hold for half a decade with small interruptions. Content (Eric's efforts), in the presence of tweaks more significantly tracks, are what LFS needs most at this point apart from tyre physics (Scawen's work).
And I'm not bashing this current graphics engine change as it aids a content update, but that quote sounds a bit out of perspective to me.
Anyways, really happy about the progress reports and very much looking forward to the Westhill test patches! Keep at it devs.
