To be brutally honest: Apart from the greyscale image I don't see any trace of Photoshop being used. There could be very subtle adjustments to contrast or colour balance but without starting LFS.exe myself I couldn't tell the difference, because all of these have the same look.
Also a couple of FZR textures didn't load properly (radiator grilles) and your car shine value looks unnaturally low (very distinctive on the windows).
Wow, that runs like a charm, clearly it would happily make another 500 rpm in the top end. Also the sped up bit had me LOL, as the sound of a liter bike evolved from the helium giggles.
Different engines come with different gearboxes+clutches
Agreed! Modern family cars usually have unresponsive gas/engine characteristics, very sensitive brakes, an overly damped clutch or a combination of these. And yes, you can adjust to that but I still find it more stressful than driving old cars. Also modern gear boxes feel doughy which annoys me aswell.
Try an 80s-90s manual to find out yourself, you'll love it.
That is another problem with this class, they don't necessarily have to be hatchbacks. UFR and XFR have rather high centers of gravity. The way tracks like Blackwood, Fern Bay or even Aston are designed force you to exploit curb cutting to be among the fastest, but that also means you will flick the car over in many occasions. I also think it's got something to do with the way suspensions and diff slip/lock are set up with FWD cars.
Obviously the tyres are extremely wide compared to the FWD GTRs so even with the least possible downforce setting they would get greater cornering speeds and especially the braking performance would be ridiculous.
A proper n/a FR layout car with slicks would be desired, it could feature an I5 or V6 to spice things up a bit. :]
You may want to look up technical specifications of a 2002 996 Carrera to find out, how unique of a design the FZ5 really is. This is one of the reasons why your envisioned FZ6 would in no way work out.
I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly, but have you tried adjusting the braking force in the car's setup? For instance the FXR can be set for up to 3287 Nm per wheel and when I set it to 2500 Nm and 73% front bias it still easily locks up all four wheels (R2 tyres at ~90°C) at speed.
So it should be possible to set the brakes up sensitive enough for them to lock the wheels at even half-way pedal use.
I looked through my LFS .psd files and figured some of them look cool when you leave out cars or backgrounds. I didn't really change anything to the layers, just left out some or did slight alterations to order or opacity. My favorite is the RAC.
The same could be said about the parallel view side-by-side option. If half of your screen width is bigger than the distance between your pupils (which is almost certainly the case with say a 17" screen or bigger) you would actually need to point your eyes slightly outwards (Exotropia).
I for one am not able to do that - and believe me I tried hard!
I appreciate your concerns and indeed some people are having issues when trying to view cross-eye-stereo images. However I am perfectly fine with that, I've watched and made stereo images for years, even videos!
I just thought it would have been a nice idea to play around with. The basics (side-by-side display) are already there and I assumed all you would need to do is write a few lines of code to have that option of swapping displays. If it's too complicated for implementation I didn't want to bother you.
Scawen, would it be possible for the next update to have another option for 3D display? I'm talking specifically about the side-by-side mode.
There should be an option to switch the left and right image, so that it can be seen either in parallel view or cross-eyed view. Currently only parallel view is available.
But seriously, great effort all in all! Finally someone who gives a crap about editing. :thumb3d:
By the way on that last picture, you don't need to blur/distort these reflections. If the car just sits there and nobody jumps into those puddles they should look like a glass surface. Or maybe there's heavy storm going on, I don't know.^^
Great news here! I want to second all the applause to Scawen and Eric. It's nice to see that they worry about details like modeling and connecting the accomodation ways, I can see a lot of layout builders will have fun with that.
It's just a shame that Tweak or NTO are not compatible with this update.
I don't know about how they were designed for that car specifically, but I just read it up and I just thought :wtf2:
They were introduced in '75!
In my mind though they were the defining 90s cheap aftermarket wheels. My brother started to buy these Tuning magazines and pretty much everything that wasn't equipped with ATS Classics had ATS Cups instead. These cars were either boring or past a certain level straight out trash!
I still find their design too roundish for those 70s angular lines, but I already commented on that when you bought them for you Rabbit. :P
I L_O_V_E that interior btw, I'm a sucker for red, brown or green seats, dashboards and carpets. Shame about those door panels though and be very easy on those window winders!
