Don't you actually fear rolling over because the downforce will lack so daim much on the exhausts side?

I'm being a bit late here obviously but still this is a very nice effort, just found out about it because of a skin by »delis«.

It's just very light and you didn't try to create a new design like with the FXR template so thank you very much I'll use it if I ever do a skin again.

Quote from delis :Sorry for double post, but skin is ready!

You can find it here - http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1553249#post1553249

Mind you telling me which template you used there because I think it's really good! Oh and nice job by the way. :thumb3d:

I'm surprised because I thought STIs would have neither cockpit ventilating nor a radio.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Tyre stuff

As I wrote I also read about that. What I don't understand is how they can work in the rain and why they don't just make tyres for both front and rear with the correct profile.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :If they're indeed designed to be mounted in that way, I'm fairly sure it's been tested in all sorts of weather conditions.

Metzler are basically Pirelli and it's not every day you hear of them cocking up.

Then again, a light rear is not impossible to control but as long as you're not doing a wheelie front tyre grip is nothing you want to loose on a bike I can imagine... So in some way it has to work out but I just can't imagine how it should.

Quote from Forbin :FWIW, I've seen tires where that's the intended direction of the tread.

Metzeler Lasertecs:

That's pretty interesting. I've just read something about Metzelers tyres. In order for the tyres not to rip into pieces the same tyre has to be mounted in different directions for front and rear wheels because at the front the main stress comes from braking, at the rear wheels the main stress is acceleration.

I know a bike is usually not something you'll choose to go by in the rain but even for an unexpected weather change I wouldn't risk riding those rubbers. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out they won't drain the tyre but instead 'collect' it thus forcing aquaplaning at low speeds.

Quote from sil3ntwar :My new bike

Mechanics gave it a look over today and gave it the all clear. Just a crack on the left fairing in front of the pillion peg.

Your front tyre is mounted the wrong way... where do those "mechanics" work at?

Quote from G!NhO :The 320 E21 had 4 cylinders, but all 320's after that have straight 6's.

That's not true. Until 1978 there were E21 320 carburetor engines with either four and six cylinders.

Quote from morpha :Oh crap you're putting a more disastrous thought into my head... the oil's straightest way to the exhaust would be through the turbos, and those are freakishly expensive...

Uploading a video so you can judge for yourself. Must say now after re-examining it, it does have a slight blue tint to it.

Oh btw it's a 2JZ-GTE

I can tell you a friend of mine who had a job in agriculture once had a turbo failure with a tractor he was driving and he told me the whole street behind him was covered in thick white smoke because the engine burned the oil leaking from the turbine. Then again these are Diesels with lower exhaust temperatures. Maybe you have white smoke that turns blue when the engine is warm and/or under load?

Quote from GAVD999 :I don't see him claiming it to be his creation ... Seeing as it came from a request to replicate the BMW art car. Request thread

I don't see me saying he is claiming anything either...

I knew someone might get it in to the wrong end. :ashamed:
Also you don't have to tell me it was a request because I haven't forgotten about it from back June.

I just assumed everybody thought it was his design because usually people judge by looks and not by efforts put into it. They would have to be skinners as well if they did.
