That 'aggressive' turn-in was also something Alonso used to do quite a bit of in his days at Renault in the wet. Seems like he stopped doing it after a few years though. Whether that was just his style or it was something the car responded well to is another question.

edit: For example, Hungary 2006.

Do the officials in NASCAR have access to the telemetry data from the cars these days? It sounds from the onboard that Johnson was on the gas pretty hard after he jumped early but he says a number of times that he was on quarter/half throttle all the way down the straight trying to give the place back.

Another set from Larkhall, shot last weekend. The weather was thankfully quite good; it started off slightly damp but was dry the rest of the day.

As always, I welcome any feedback and constructive criticism you can provide. Thanks for your time.

Quote from Bmxtwins :British people, why u no take him alive?

Both the suspects were shot and injured by the police, but they're still alive and in custody. If this happened in the US there would likely have been 20 officers firing 10 shots each at the suspects, killing them both and injuring random spectators. The armed police acted with great restraint and handled the situation as well as could be expected.

Quote from ACCAkut :Hmm, I think I hijack this thread a little ...

Back in the early nineties I remember watching some japanese live action show sometimes very early on Saturday mornings. It featured I think a policemen, and he and his car could morph (he in a supersuit, the car by lots of body panels switching on hinges, unlike Transformers) The car was white in normal form, and red-ish in superhero form, and its model was something like a AE86 or Supra Mk. II, definitely something with pop-up headlights.

There were toys available, I once found a toy version of the hero car while working in a kindergarten, but somehow didn't check it for the series name.

Any ideas? Its just a nostalgia thing

I posted on the IMDB forums on your behalf. This reply appears to correctly identify the show and includes a video of the transformation.

Quote from amp88 :Another request, this time with even vaguer information than earlier in the thread.

I (partially) remember watching this film in the early to mid '90s on TV (so it was probably released in the early '90s). It starts off with a guy waking up and getting ready to go to work. He leaves his house and jumps in a sports car (possibly a Porsche 911 variant) and I think he burns rubber when he pulls away. The guy works as some kind of bank robber turned security consultant, so I think they do the old "guy looks like he's robbing the place but in fact he's trying to find the faults in the security system". That's all I can remember. I have no idea on actors. I've spent a while looking on the Internet Movie Cars DB but there are so many films featuring Porsches (and I'm not even sure it was a Porsche) that I thought I'd ask here.

I appreciate the info above is really vague, but it's worth a shot

Quote from amp88 :Another request...

A guy who's committed a serious crime (something like armed robbery or murder) is trying to get away from the police but they have road blocks set up. So, he goes to the nearest park (national park maybe?) and joins a group of climbers to try and disguise himself. Someone (maybe a park ranger or a local policeman) figures this out and goes after the guy. I've got a feeling there's a rope bridge or small cable car type thing involved somehow, but not sure. I think it's probably from the mid '90s and it's American.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

edit: It's not Cliffhanger.

Bit of a bump for these. Last weekend I met up with a friend I hadn't seen for ~15 years and he suggested I try asking on the IMDB forums. Posted these details and got replies for both of them within a day.

The first (bank / fast car) is Fast Getaway II and the second (criminal climber) is Shoot to Kill.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Used by who? A 280 pound guy in Hawaii flirting with teenage girls?

Worst.

Design.

Ever.

More likely this was previously used as the top half of an elegant dinner suit by a cockney.

The bottom half, of course, being a lovely pair of shorts.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not it. I should have been more clear when I said it was an American film above (I meant that it was both made and set in the United States).

And another...this time for a zombie (?) apocalypse film. I put the question mark in there about zombie because I'm not exactly sure if they really are zombies or perhaps something else similar. Anyway, I think it's probably an American film from around 2000-2010, it features the main characters running out of petrol/gas and having to walk some distance. They find some kind of holiday/vacation resort complex in the middle of a desert (?) and they survive there for a while, but I think they accidentally alert some of the zombies and have to move on. I also think a beach house might feature somehow.

Not a lot to go on, but hopefully it rings a bell for someone. Thanks for any help.

Bit of a strange one this time. Trying to identify the person speaking (and, hopefully, the date it was captured) in this intro around 0:04. The "it was a good race and then, uh" quote. It sounds to me like it's something from the early career of Michael Schumacher, but I can't be sure. Thanks for any help.

Another trip to the Kames circuit near Muirkirk, this time for some sprint action run by the East Ayrshire Car Club. A wide variety of cars ran over the weekend, ranging from standard road cars through modified track cars and up to racing cars. Saturday was dry but the first part of the day on Sunday was quite wet and there was a strong wind the whole day. At least this gave me a chance to try out the Rainsleeve I got after my last weekend of wet karting. I was surprised how well the sleeve worked, although it was a bit difficult to keep it under control in the strong wind.

As always, I welcome any feedback or constructive criticism you're able to give. Thanks for looking.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Image tags won't work because they're not true links to an image file, they're to a webpage representing file.

You can directly link to images using the IMG tag, but AFAIK they have to be placed in your Dropbox/Public directory first. Then just right click -> Dropbox -> Copy Public Link. This should copy the image URL to clipboard, which you can then paste.

edit: Actually, it seems like all you need to do to be able to direct link to images is to change the www.dropbox to dl.dropbox. So, you don't need to place them in the Public folder first.
