LFSers really have no idea what oval racing is about if they haven't tried another oval sim. Until there are more tracks, LFS oval racing is just dead and skill-less. The only car in LFS that would make for a good oval race is the FZ50 and XRT, IMO.
Quite frankly, LFS is too far behind iRacing for them to catch up. Therefore, I'll just stick to iRacing for my oval fix... We really like to run in these special events though.
That, and 90% of the people improperly set up their wheel turn compensation.
It's a decent system, but I would rather it take the degrees of the wheel, like iRacing does. The LFS way is hit or miss. There is no best setting, so it's kinda unrealistic.
Just to go ahead and respond to the 123 incident...
The 123 wasn't at fault, but I never expected him to run the 3 and 1/4 line while we were 3 wide. I seldom run as high as he did when I'm 3 wide on the outside... Also note that Peterman and myself turn into the corner the same time, Peterman actually a little earlier. Kasemeir actually comes up the track as me and Peterman go down... Essentially, we can all use that tactic. It's the same thing drifters try to do when they mess up their line, they push you so wide it's ether loose the car in front, or make contact. Kinda the same thing here, but if I would have noticed he was that far off my normal line I would have lost the draft and hung back. After pit stops we ended up behind Kasemeir anyways...
After looking at the replay, I would like to ask the admins review their means of review. The car under me was in the 3rd lane, and we were 4 wide... I couldn't just run into the car on the outside. Even the broadcasters didn't point out that the initial contact was with me...
I even had 3 guys in vent telling me that the guy stayed too high and that I wouldn't be getting a penalty... Low and behold, I got one.
Making up a fantasy world really takes the interest out of it for me. Real life drivers don't play a part in this game, but many very high quality racers do. That's why doing a H2H final or just setting up an event with 2 or more guys (If they are of adequate skill) battling it out, would make for the best video atmosphere.
Once you look around you'll see there is a lot of league events that would be cool to make videos of. If I had the time to make videos like I used to, that's exactly what I would be doing.
Although I agree the cars might need to be looked into, the FZR has had it's day in the sun in about 5000 different leagues. I personally wouldn't mind it taking a back seat to the FXR and XRR for once. Also, you have to look at who ran that 31.000. I bet a majority of the XRR drivers can't make it into the 31's. I'm going to test on it and see if I'm wrong though.
I think you might have to resort to adding ballast, because you can only get it so close with restrictions.

Yes this is an open forum, but you keep making the same point over and over. I've answered the reason for why I'm responding to you, just read my last post. Bad information is contagious...
You love to see slipstreaming and going into the corner side by side, but watch the broadcast. People are bump drafting up the straight, catching up to a bigger packs, and still pulling out at the corner entrance to go side-by-side. Bump drafting allows us to have much bigger battles, which is aided by the ballast system.
As I said, we are getting opinions from people that just haven't seen the series, or understand what a fundamental part of racing bump drafting is. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing. I am, however, going to present my case as to why I agree with it.
You've been implying things, then when someone responds to you opinions you blow it off and say, "why can't you understand I have a different opinion." The problem is, you've been brought into the debate, but you have no idea how to debate it. Then the people that are actually needed for the debate come here and see your comments, which until fixed, were all theory, filled with unrealistic opinions.
This is why this should have been kept internal at iTCC, so we wouldn't have to waste time with with poeple spreading opinions around about subjects, they obviously know very little about. You're complaining about it being unrealistic, then we showed you countless videos of it happening in real life. You haven't made any other point other than this, so why are you still continuing to post about this debate?
