I actually had a message typed up for your first comment but didn't post it. I understand where your coming from, but the benefits of drifting are far out weighted by the amount of grip racers produce, especially on the exit of the corner.
We've all had that perfect corner drift, were you pretty much just get really lucky and it's fast. It's rare, it's really inconsistent, it eats tires obviously, and creates more drag than it's really good for 95% of the time. Just wanted to respond to make sure no one is purposely drifting the car to be fast, because it doesn't work.
We projected 28's at the end of the run, but thanks to Niki we had damage all race that was cost us .5 or more at the end of the stints. I appreciate the apology Niki but, this isn't the first time we've had issues on track...
BTW, the 28 we put in during qualifying was actually on lap 24 of a stint.
I don't know how your reviewing this incident, or others, but you give me the impression you are looking at something that isn't a cause of the accident in the first place. First of all I didn't squeeze, he had more than 2 lanes of tarmac... Secondly, read the quote.
I still don't see what J@tko is getting at, but it doesn't really matter. Let the protest die, it's really not necessary for us to bicker about it anyways. I should have just let sleeping dogs lie, but I was a little tired and pissed off when I made the protest... It's still clearly a takeout maneuver, but it's not really important considering he didn't even finish the race.
He was on the right hand side of the track and I drafted by him. As soon as I got side by side he pulled to the left hand side of the track. I mean, do you really think he expected me to pull hard left and go right to the curb for the entry of the next corner, the second I passed his bumper? You have to fade to the entry point, not jerk it into position like a track day rookie. It's clear enough in the broadcast, but just look from the overhead...
I don't want a ruling on the matter, but I want it to be clear that it really doesn't matter if I squeezed him or not... You cannot run into someone, drive them up the track 3 lanes, into the grass, putting themselves in the perfect position for corner entry, and view that to be an "okay" move from the protest perspective. It even gave us damage, that cost us .5 of a lap or more at the end of the stint.
Pretty sure Livestream only lets you download the advertisements. One of the many ways they are trying to get people to but their product is that they don't release the .flv files for public download. At least, I can't download them...
Lap AND timecode (from posted mpr after race) of incident: Lap 1
Car(s) involved: Niki and Myself.
Your brief description of the incident: Niki crashed us clear as day. I can't believe the admins didn't give him a drive through. I mean that was a clear cut case of taking someone out because he knew he wouldn't have the pace to stick with us over the long part of the run. Typically ole Niki...
Well Youtube recomends 1280 x 720 in .avi format. They also recommed that you compress with Xvid. That would be the best for HD youtube. Feel free to render it at 4000 KB/s or more...
I've been meaning to ask this, and I should have done this before the thread dropped so far... Do you have this posted on YouTube? If not, I can host it for you with credits in the title.
I just need it on Youtube so I can use it as an embed stream.
Just becuase your computer can run games 60 FPS, doesn't mean that when you record in those settings that you won't be missing frames. It's probably computer related because my computer, so start recording with less frames.
The big difference between those two videos and this one is that they show the action in long term portions. These much shorter action shots are really more eye candy based than the "hey, check out this pass" based other two videos.
Just like every other series we run in... I understand it's tough, but there is enough data laying around out there that we have to be able to get it close. Only problem is, I think it's to late to make any changes. I mean we already have 30 people with times in the pre-qualification, and there is no telling how many others are practicing on different servers.
I really think the next time NDR or MoE run an event, that they make the XRR and FXR a tad quick than the FZR. We've seen the FZR dominance for years. Next time lets see what the XRR and FXR guys can do when their at the front.
At least it's teaching me to drive the FZR which is nice.
Shows the action great and is still pretty artistic. Goes a long great with the iTCC video. They both really show some great action, which is awesome to see people make videos of.
Been watching and tutoring this guy a lot over the past few months. I'm really happy to finally make this sign to show everyone in the community that Ken has become just as mature of a driver as anyone else out there. Really happy to make this possible.
Actually, anything we broadcast over vent, live stream, youtube, etc. is considered public domain unless it is accompanied by a copyright. I heard no copyright discloseer at the end of the race, so by law that is completely legal as long as it's not rebroadcasted... The vent messages were not rebroadcasted, thus there is no arguement here.
