The only thing that I can figure is that they are trying to promote Fox Sports 1 and NBC Sports Network (for NBC). I don't really think it's going to help anything. I'll only watch during a race just the same as if it was on FOX. I understand for the Nationwide and Truck races, but with Cup the only thing that's going to happen is less people watching.
The difference in ratings from FOX to TNT or ESPN is pretty sharp really.
While not directly, there most certainly is competition. Many times drivers will only race in one league race per weekend. Whenever there are two races on the same weekend typically both events suffer, or am I wrong?
There have been plenty of GT leagues, there's been 3 TBO leagues if you count Live For Slicks and with each one attendance has seemed to drop. The 2012 WTBOCS averaged over 20 competitors a round. I'm not sure about Live For Slicks, but even GenR isn't pulling what we did in the WTBOCS in 2012 now. This from a more reputable organization rather than Worldwide Racing.
Not directly is there competition. I, as a director, wish to see all grids in all leagues and events full. Even if that means not having my own events and helping with anothers. If there were only 10 league races a year, would we have full grids in all of them, or would they be laregly the same? This is my question. .
I feel like, even though we all wish each other the best, we still pull from the same audience, and as such compete with one another.
I did this for my top level leagues in hopes that it could replace the data lost with the SPDO Database. Nothing really ever will though I'm afraid. That was a huge drive for many drivers.
All in all, I think many people on here are rather closed minded. They want this type of car or that type of track or this rule or that. Instead, look at a league with an open mind and embrase each league's rule and try to work with them and use them to your advantage. I changed my organization's name to Worldwide Racing from Realistic NASCAR to emphesise the fact that our racing product is often very different from what our old name might make many of you think. I see a lot of people who will say "oh, this is that car," or "oh, we're going to that track," or "oh, that rule is stupid," and then seem to just instantly lose interest in the series or event. Oval racing on LFS isn't just crashing. Fern Bay isn't always a flip and crash filled affair. Shorter tracks are able to hold events with fast cars (within reason). Why not give something different a try?
The Rallycross Shootout Series averaged in 3 rounds 3 drivers . Rallycross Leagues are rarely seen on LFS, but even something that hardly ever happens and gives different drivers a chance is ignored. The RNCS saw small grids starting with R2, but there were 4 different winners in 6 rounds. That defys the somebody runs away with it and makes be feel bad theory of low league race attendance.
I'm trying to put on an FZ5 forced cockpit view race on Monday, it's been announced for almost a week, and not 1 comment or registration has been filed.
If there was less competition between the separate leagues do we as a community beleive that league racing would become more interesting once again?

Worldwide Racing presents the 200 Kilometers of Kyoto Grand Touring (K32, but in the reverse direction). This race will be contested in the FZ5 and will require a four (4) tire (tyre) pit stop at some point through the event. Traction control will be permitted. Race Control will open pit lane once the field has spread out to avoid pit lane being overly busy on the opening laps. Pitlane will remain open in the event of a safety car unless the incident makes entry or exit dangerous. Cockpit view will be forced. Server is now open for practice
Server: [WR] WTBOCS
no password at this time
Registered competitors will be PM'ed password and information the day before the event.
This event will take place on Monday, 5 August 2013 starting at 17:00 or 16:00 GMT (need feed back on that, I'm not familiar with scheduling weekday events) with qualifying. Qualifying will be 25 min. in duration. The top 31 competitors will be permitted to take the green flag. Race will be 26 laps + 1 pace lap and should take around 78 min. to complete. Race will begin after a 10 min. break following qualifying. Track is 7.706 km in duration. 26 race laps make a total race distance of 200.356 km
Start will be rolling and double file as by the Worldwide Racing Rulebook. Odd positioned competitors will be on the right hand side on the start. Evens will start on the left. Restarts will be single file. No passing before the start/finish on starts or restarts. Leader may begin accelerating in the area just prior to the start/finish line marked by chalk. The Green Flag will be issued upon the leader's mark.
Driver's names will need to look as follows: ## F.Last (:razz
Entry number will be your license plate number in black. A number other than your entry number may not be displayed upon your skin in any session.
To register, please post here answering the following prompt:
Entry Number: Driver Name: LFSWorld Name: Nationality: Full Team Name: Desired Time: Will race regardless of time (Y/N):
Entry numbers will be 00 to 99. Make sure yours is not already taken before posting. Driver name will be your first and last name.
Yeah, of course. Maybe 2 or 3 in each series a year (like the road races and plate races).
I completely agree with Edwards, and I think about 90% of the fans do as well. NASCAR almost had the formula right in testing the Gen 6, but they changed it
So, NASCAR's looking to return to Eldora for the truck series next year, but evidently they don't want to move any other series there or to any other dirt track
Yesterday's Nationwide race was a joke as expected.
This . When rules start being enforced consistancy always becomes a problem in race officiating, and in all officiating in fact. I've never seen anybody run off the racing surface and gain an advantage on exit of Turn #14 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve . Running off in the final corner of Westhill on LFS penalizes competitors for running off. Why can't the FIA let racers race until they unfairly slow one another down? I'm not really sure .
Nice to See Kimi hold off Vettle in the closing laps

Worldwide Racing will be organizing this, the 3rd annual running of the series. Events will, as before, run on Sunday afternoons beginning at 15:00 GMT with a 25 minute qualifying session prior to the race. The races will be around 85 minutes in duration. All rounds have been scheduled to avoid direct conflict with a Formula One race. As it has always been, one driver per entry in this series. If more than 32 competitors attempt to qualify we will split the qualifiers onto two servers or two qualifying groups . There will not be a pre-qualification period for this series or any of it's events. If more than 30 competitors attempt to qualify for an event, only the fastest 30 times will be allowed to start the event, but if enough fail to qualify for the race we will attempt to run a parallel race for those who failed to qualify. No points will be awarded in this parallel event however. Drivers who fail to maintain at least 105% of the overall pole speed in qualifying will have their time disallowed and will not be permitted to start the race regardless of the number of drivers attempting to qualify.
The 2013 World TBO Championship Series ushers in a few healthy changes for the series. For the first time ever, the XRT will be forced to take a 2% restriction rather than the traditional 1% restriction in order to even up the field. This is based on the more even distribution of the vehicle's weight which allows for better tyre wear and turning capability which was ignored two years ago when the restrictions were initially decided upon.
Also new this year, restarts will be single file rather than double file. This should make restarts smoother and safer if they must occur. Starts will remain double file, and passing prior to the start finish line on starts and restarts will remain illegal. Safety cars will only be deployed in the event that the track becomes nearly impassable or a competitor has become immobile near the race track or otherwise dangerous to other competitors and requires push car intervention. Push car intervention away from the edge of the race track will result in a standard local yellow as issued by LFS as an RCM or as a message delivered by a Worldwide Racing Official.
This year, there will be a mandatory four tyre (tire) pit stop for all competitors. More information on this can be found in the post below
Past Champions (numbers reserved):
2011: #76 Elton Chong (sbb)
2012: #36 Joe Holmes (kart-36)

I was more impressed than anything. I will say, in order to get to the truck series drivers have to have a ton of control. See my comments about the K&N East Series race at Columbus Motor Speedway a week or so ago
It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did retrospectively. Same with the fact that the racing was good. Low Speeds, no downforce, low grip
The racing last night was MUCH better than I expected, and I hope to see a Nationwide race on a high banked dirt track soon, and then the Cup Series if the racing is similar. This is ONLY if a real pit road is constructed or the race moved to a track that does have one. The 150 lap race in segments stuff is crap. Do 150 without segments for trucks and Nationwide and do 300 for a cup race. Solved
Crap caution gave Dillon the lead . Getting more and more fed up with those kinds of debris cautions by the week . All other debris cautions last night I agreed with though
I'm glad to see it actually, but I am greatly disappointed that many of the races will be on NBC Sports Network. They are trying to promote that channel, I know, but it is still disapointing. I'm glad to see that the coverage will be cut down to 2 teams.
I'm excited to see how NBC covers it in 2015. I've seen nothing but good things in their F1 coverage
Nationwide race tomorrow at Chicogoland at 3PM EST (-4 GMT) and Eldora is on Wednesday night starting at 7PM with Q races and the feature beginning at 9:35 PM EST. Predictions? I predict ugly but unforgettable (due to bad reasons rather than good)
NASCAR announced on Monday that it was changing the direction of the sport (behind the scenes mostly). Many of these changes I see being in a very positive direction, but I'm rather open minded, so I'm sure many others will disagree. . These are planned to be in place by the 2015 Daytona 500
The Rallycross Shootout Series will not complete the 2013 Season and will not return in the future without a large demand.
Round #1 attendance: 4 drivers (me being one of them. 1 completed the event)
Round #2 attendance: 4 drivers
Round #3 attendance: 1 driver
Sadly, the series does not appeal to a large portion of the Live For Speed Community and therefore will be coming to a complete close. Those who were interested in this event I appologize to you. I can't justify running an event only for a few drivers.
