Thanks, I assume the cap of three AI is to do with network usage???

It would be nice in the future(if the AI reached an acceptable level of driving)to have a dozen or so AI alongside the real drivers on servers to get the numbers up and the ball rolling

...how do add ai to track on the host having the server deal with the computing load rather than the client, and is it possible to allow more than three cars?

Oil is a bastard to clean up

Around this time last year I accidentally one of thesup my nostrel, my nose and face. Buckets of internal bleeding for hours and scabs for a dozen weeks or so. DO NOT test outdoor christmas tree lights whilst co-worker has an electrical tester sticking out of the breast pocket of his coat. For real.

The "Accidents I've Caused" thread[Humour+Facepalms]

Ok, rules are:

Post the truth only, no BS lies or made up story's, they can be accident's you've caused in work, on the road or whatever, or accidents you've fell victim to.

I'll start the ball rolling!

Summertime of 05' working on building a new Tesco's. It was my first on the job helping the builders do what they do and the foreman directs me over to help Mick. Now, I'm not sure weather there was some mis-communication between Mick and the foreman about who I was and what I could do(first day on-site and clueless a teenager)and me being me if someone asks me to do something I just jump into it. In this case "it" was a big yellow dumper filled to the brim with quick drying cement. Mick shout's "Pete, grab that dumper and follow me over to the crane". The crane, situated alongside a rather large deep hole was lifting the first section of a a high tention electrical pylon....you know when they say that accidents are usually a combination of failures of systems? , well what unfolded next was no failure of systems nor machinery, it was me, I Failed at driving dumpers. So, I sat back and watched the other five or six dumpers until I was last in line, I really didn't want to go near it, but I had too. Straight into the hole the dumper went!, me nearly with it, it seemed like an eternity as I watched others watching me watching the bubbling pit of failure. I thimk there were three reasons why it happened 1. the top of my boot getting stuck in the floor of the dumper not allowing me to brake 2. in my minds eye I seen myself driving into the hole 3. it was damn slippy. Needless to say I got a right bollocking and had to make some effort to pay for the BS. My dumper still rests in it's place(was easyer and cheaper to leave it be)

Gearbox ratios & shifting[How to]
CSU1
S2 licensed
...For the past couple of months I've been focusing on steering and getting the feel for all of the cars once again after a break. At this point I'm pretty satisfied I have a decent collection of setups and need to move things on to the next level. Gear ratio's and shifting.

After spending most of my childhood working with cars with my father I understand the basics ie. all of the various components that make up the gearing system and how they interact with one and other to get things moving as far as the flywheel, also the other areas of locking power and LSD are self explanatory.

What I don't understand is:

Heel Toe and shifting without the clutch before braking...im guessing to do this is to have the gearbox select the gear for you when the speed is at perfect state to select next gear. ATM I drive auto clutch and flappy paddel, and TBH I always always seem to be slower out of the corners than anyone else when getting on the throttle is the only difference between me and the car in front. I know it's a bit of a lazy bastard way to drive, but will I see an improvement if I learn true manual, and does anyone have some practice techniques I can try out to learn this ruddy manual heel toe thingy?

...combination of professionalism(or lack of)on the police drivers behalf and illegible plates coupled with the possibility that the driver and possibly the base saw you go wrong way down the motorway may have led them to believe you were stonking drunk...maybe if you were drunk and he hit the lights you would have put pedal to metal and killed yourself....maybe the manner in which he was tailing you was correct procedure when dealing with a drunk on the road to avoid the unnecessary.

Quote from Ger Roady :Isn't that the main target on a destruction Derby ?

...there's a thin line between having a good race destruction derby style and outright crashing into other drivers with no intent in holding a race line or trying gain position, I see it time and time again where at T1 driver X makes no attempt to brake going straight into the rear of drivers.

Light to heavy contact is what its all about, not a full blown analfest. Maybe I'm just whining myself, but I imagine a 'no front bumper contact' would make DD much much more interesting only allowing side contact, pit maneuvers are the ultimate thing that pisses me off.

e;

Could anyone tell me Would it be possible through insim to place a warning system in place whereby any car seen to accelerate and make contact at the front of the car gets a warning > warning 1 > warning 2 >warning 3 to pits???

...imo the ONLY type of track for this kind of racing should make use of ramps and racing in figure eights with the collision zones as cars jump over one and other whilst making good use of the hay bales to stop major moon-launch collisions. Racing round a standard track in DD is just an analfest with drivers taking one and other out at the drop of a hat...it's very frustrating.
