Quote from BlueFlame :No it isn't.

Erm, yeah it is.

I know plenty of people who run pressed plates front and rear, and the only one person who has ever had any number plated aggro from the police (we are cruisers remember, we see police and get our cars checked all the time) was one guy with a 54 plate seat ibiza, and that was because his plates didnt display the makers name and the bsau145d number, a legal requirement if the vehicle was registered after 1st september 2001, fact.

Unless of course suffolk and cambs police are all lying.

Went around a tight turn earlier and boom, yep, the diff finally took its toll, broke a driveshaft, got home on 1 wheel drive, cut a piece of hefty thick steel tube that fits nicely over the shaft (already bought a bit in case of this happening) and shot over to my mates place with it, im surprised i didnt do a cv joint, but no, it wrenched the shaft pretty much in half, so my mate welded the 2 halfs back together and smoothed it down with a grinder, then slid my 6" long piece of tubing over the join and seam welded that all the way around both sides too, should last me the 2 weeks until payday so i can get a new shaft anyways.

The only thing that looks really and truly crap imo is all these cock heads who think that fitting a 165 width tyre on a 10j width rim is a good idea, it looks fooking rubbish, and must surely be dangerous?

Thanks for that idea beefyman, hadnt though of going down the vector drawing route.

And so, with my (extremely!) limited knowledge of photoshop, and about 3 hours on it, i have come up with this so far...

Far from good, but well on the way to what i want, just need to do some work on the serious pixilation i have on the wheels and some other edges and ill be happier, probably wont even use this as a tattoo base, i just like the look of it as a picture in general, there is one thing that i really want to do but cant, which is to have a shadow under the car, but no matter what tutorials i follow, and whatever layer gaussion blur stuff i try, it never works, i either get the background black and blurry, or nothing happens, so if someone wanted to maybe download this and add a shadow for me then i really wouldnt mind
Anyone here able to do me a big drawing / photoshop favour?

Basically, a mate of mine passed away, and a few of us would like to get a tattoo in his honour, and we would like to incorporate the blue honda crx del sol, his pride and joy, into the tattoo.

I have seen these cartoonified characature things that you can get of cars, but they seema bit OTT really, so ideally, this car, but made to look like a drawing or sketch would be ideal.

basically, this look...

But this car...

I have tried to do this myself using photoshop but all i managed was a blurry mess, so if anyone could help me then it would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.

Quote from BlueFlame :Jak, I don't know anyone who's been rear ended twice in such a short time, maybe it's something your mother did wrong?

Just sayin...

brake-testerrrrr

Happened to me with my old nova back in the day, young girl in a clio failed to brake up as quick as i could when a car in front decided to lock up because a dog ran accross the road, it wasnt a very hard hit and barely scuffed my car, and the damage to hers was very minor, but bless her, she was so upset and apologetic at the scene all i could do when she got out of the car in floods of tears was (after looking at the damage first) tell her not to worry and give her a hug bless her, accidents happen afterall, plus she was about 25 ( iwas 18 at the time) and she was drop dead gorgeous, a total stunner, and single, ended up exchanging numbers and went out a few times, but she was well outta my league to be fair, she lived on a big posh family estate over newmarket way, posh totty you could say, was never gonna work, she was lovely tho.

Then about a month later i was sat at a queue for a roundabout during rush hour, again, after work, and a silver haired man who i believe was at least 150 years old failed to see the queue, or me at the back of it, and just drove his fiat punto straight into my car, i saw him coming in the mirror, and thought, he'll brake in a minute, in a minute, in a minute?, now, now? ffs NOW!? I did attempt to move out of danger, and drove myself up the kerb partially in order to do so, but i left it too late, and boom, he blew me up bigtime, snapped my boot off and jacked the floor upwards (it was a nova saloon that i had) but, his car, shit me, wrecked, bumper, bonnet, wings, it was destroyed, looked like it had been in a solid head on collision, it just folded up on itself, what a mess!

So yeah, it does happen lol.

Quote from robt :Jakg, cant you do the service yourself? Its only an x-flow engine, theyve been around since the 1950's! Parts would be very cheap and wouldnt take you half a day.

Oh yes, i remember these blasted little engines, based on a kent crossflow, only slightly refined (if you can call it that) and rebranded as the HCS OHV engine, then they did something else to them in the 90's and rebranded it again as the endura engine, terrible top end chatter as the valve clearances get bigger and bigger as well, rev one up and the sound resembled a belt sander haha

That looks sick R34king, old skool cool!

As for mine, i have had a bit of a play, as the rear tyres were shot (surprise surprise) and i think i like the silver foxies better, they seem to suit it more i think.

indeed so jamie, i shant be running those until the springtime, i have some 14 inch steel rims for winter, gonna stick some 165/70s on em so at least it can dig in if we get snow and ill stand some of a chance with a locked diff, fingers crossed.

Just picked up a set of these for the bargian price of £40.

2 rims with tyres and 2 without, one of the rims without a tyre on is nackered due to a serious clump with a kerb when the previous owner had them, but for that price its still a good deal, id imagine i can pick up a second hand rim to match from somewhere, and as my current wheels have the same size tyres on, and are bald almost (locked diff remember) this actually works out cheaper than buying even 1 new tyre, sure, ill have odd wheels, but at least it'll be legal, even if it will look crappy.

Then once i get a 4th matching wheel, it will be time for the toyo r888's to go on, i havent got them yet, but my mate has, loads of them, he races professionally in something called the CSCC, in a pug 205 GTI, and always runs 15" pepperpots, with 195/50/15 r888s all round, but if he has a braking incident and flat spots the fronts or something for example, he will change the whole set just in case, so has a few that could be made up into a good set of 4, we havent agreed a price yet, but i have known him for years, he assures me that they will be cheap.

I work for these guys.

The biggest builders merchants in the UK, which is owned by saint gobain, and run under the SGBD (saint gobain building & distribution part of the company) in the UK, SG is a french company that has masses of companies associated with it worldwide, made 1.1 billion euros in profit last year.

I currently work on the trade counter serving builders daily, but sometimes go out in the yard and do forklift and manual labour stuff, which is also fun, but, starting next week, we are starting tool hire, which im going to be heading up, have done all my PAT testing training, LPG and healt h and safety courses, all i need to get now is my digital tachograpgh and towing license sorted and ill be away, delivering stuff like diggers and dumper trucks to the builders of east anglia, i got a brand new van and everything, i cant wait!

RX-7 wing is now fitted, plus the rear spats from a mk2 are on as well (cant remember if i posted a pic of the spats before or not, the car is a bit grimey in this pic, it needs a wash, i had been out practicing minutes earlier, i'll come to this later .

and half my set of winter/skidding rims painted, i was very kindly given these, and as the tyres on them are not very good at all, i will use them up by drifting and donuting at the fortnightly event that a mate organises, where there is a nice skid pan plus it spins up better on little skinny 14 inch wheels, hasnt really got enough power to kick out in the dry on the 15 inch wider rims it usually wears, not unless you really give it some, which involves winding the revs up and clutch kicking it round quite violantly, already learned that you have to really dump that clutch quickly or you get mass slip and a lovely smell of burning plate, not nice, i really dont want to break it, plus i should be able to get hold of barely legal/illegal old 14 inch rubber to replace once they are totally wrecked, and the place where the event is held also has a vehicle lift, jacks, and a tyre machine.

Then once i have sourced 2 more rims, and it becomes really crappy weather wise i shall get some really skinny (im thinking 165/70/14) mud and snow tyres for the winter, as running wide tyres on a locked diff in winter would be pretty dangerous its not overly bad to drive in the rain, not really, but you do have to really think about what you are doing, it does catch you out sometimes.

Which is why i did about 10 feet driving along the grass verge after a lovely little slide round a gentle right hander in the wet earlier, i had it going round lovely, in 2nd gear, nice and steady, probably barely at 30 mph, but it was fully arse out, nose of the car was pointing at the inside verge, full lock drift , i felt like ken block haha, but, i backed off the throttle too suddenly and it snatched back over to the left on me, all down to being a skid novice and therefore lack of experience i guess.

Plus with the abundance of little farm roads and expanses of open space with massive wide verges everywhere, plus loads of visibility, there is quite literally nothing to hit, and i would much rather find the balance in varying conditions in this relatively safe environment than have the car take me by surprise on the way to work in traffic for example, plus farmers concrete pads that are usually used for storing stuff like sugarbeet, but that are empty, are perfect practice grounds for doughnuttage, barely even need to steer once she's going, can near enough let go of the steering wheel and just do it on the throttle, its all quite glorious
