Thats true klutch, you should have heard the musical disasters i have created with VDJ in the past

Luckily i discovered that you can map keys to different functions, so i can now do more than one thing at once, trying to do pitch, crossfader and Db levels by chasing about the screen with the mouse was a right pain lol

Cheers for the positive feedback guys, im finally starting to get the hang of virtualdj, although the transition from 'old school' to digital mixing has been quite a learning curve, im much more at home putting a real needle to a real piece of vinyl and mixing it up any day

And yeah, about the random rewind in the middle of pacific sun by darren styles, i forgot which side was playing and spun the wrong deck back, its a mistake i make frequently on VDJ, im actually quite surprised i only did it once, more practise methinks!

ALL ravers, i did a 1 hour recorded set earlier, and it came out quite well, so here it is, listen to it on site, or download, burn to CD, do whatever you like, but if you like hardcore, have a listen, youll like it, full of classic choons from the newer uk hardcore scene, the first couple are cheeky bootlegs, so the sound qual isnt brillaint, but it DOES get much better!

You are never ever ever gonna let him forget that thread are you.

Go into your LFS/data folder, and make a copy of the following folders, depending on what you want to keep...

setups (self explanitory)

spr (if you wanna keep single player replays)

mpr (as above, but multiplayer replays)

skins (again, self explanitory lol)

dds (if you have custom textures or hi res packs etc)

pic (as above, plus any custom ingame menus and some sky textures will be in there)

layout (self explanitory)

engine (engine sounds, as you would expect)

sound (all other ingame sounds, if you have installed non standard ones)

Thats about it really, although i have to say, what you are describing does sound more like a controller/wheel config problem, maybe handbrake axis is inverted the wrong way possibly??

Snap! This was the landlord stuart on saturday, although he didnt have scissors to go with it, but in hindsight it would probably have been an advantage as he spent the majority of the evening cooking and serving the hog roast.

I kept it simple...



Probably a wise choice tho as i was working until 11pm so it was OK.

My HDD is a SAMSUNG HD080HJ/P 80GB drive so PC wizard tells me, all i know is that its a SATA drive, so newer and presumably better than IDE, and i am running xp xp3 32 bit.

This thing does seem quite a mish mash of bits really, HDD is SATA, mobo slot for gfx card is pci-e 1x (tiny slot) but im running onboard ATM (cant find a 1x card thats any good which will fit in a sff case) and the DVD drive is IDE lol

Well its running perfectly fine after a clean install, i have been in and disabled various useless services according to blackvipers very handy guide, plus some minor registry editing, a 20 millisecond start menu response time is much more acceptable than a 400ms one lol.

So yeah, i guess windows must have crapped itself in some way, as i havent had a single hint of trouble since reinstalling, so i now have avast av, comodo firewall and MBAM installed as before, and its running very well.

The only thing im wondering tho, is how much performace would i gain from a pentium4 on xp if i upped the RAM from 2.5GB to 4GB, would it be worth it?

Could it be a particular file its having trouble as opposed to the folder thats causing this mate, finding which one could take ages mind you.
