What's wrong with you guys? The nature and way the post was written made the picture quite funny.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Actually, having seen a couple of angles here, it looks like Alonso could've left him room but saw Heidfeld was no longer alongside and decided to use all the road on the exit.

Precisely, notice how on the onboard of Alonso, he keeps to the inside longer than normal, until Heildfeld disappears, to which he then moves across to the other apex for a good exit..

Why should the topic be closed? TBH I have found this thread to be a great read, and the insults have been rather amusing, and certainly not what I'd call personal or offensive.

Quote from tristancliffe :Wasn't impressed by Alonso's move on Heidfeld. Forcing someone to take to the 'escape road' (note: he left no room on the second apex had Nick tried to stay on the track). Completely lacked finesse, fairness or flair - not very becoming of a two-times world champion in my opinion.

Anyway, it was all for nought - he was beaten by the BMW even though he was a lot faster. Ha ha ha ha ha!

You really don't like Alonso eh?

What if Alonso saw Heidfeld take to the escape road, and therefore decided there was no need to give any room for him?

Quote from N I K I :bwhahahahaha Heidfeld ahead of Alonso again

Not sure if Heidfeld has to stop again though unlike Alonso...

Edit: Seems like they aren't stopping again...

Oh LOL James Allen "with the Ferrari's having a large 1/2 a second lead over Hamilton..." the guy hasn't got a clue.

choxaway:

Take a look at this replay of hannu's world record hotlap at Blackwood. Save it into lfs directory/data/spr, then load up LFS, load the replay and watch it from the in car camera.

Notice the cornering speeds which can be achieved with good balancing of the car with countersteering and smooth throttle usage. Now replicate it yourself.

Seriously though, it takes A LOT OF PRACTICE to be that fast, but it is doable, just keep at it.

I left foot brake in LFS all the time, and I was shocked to find out that Rubens Barrichello is a right foot braker.. I don't really see how braking with the left foot can be all that difficult, I brake in a real car with my right foot, so I can operate the clutch obviously.

I do, however find heel / toe braking very difficult to get right consistantly.

Feels fantastic.. But I don't know if it's just rFactor in general but all the cars, this car less so but still, have a horrible snapping tendancy when the weight shifts from once side to the other...

But great fun all the same, and with 900 degrees + G25 + realfeel plugin = a lot of fun.

Quote from choxaway :Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to the game. All the sounds posted here are to be downloaded and installed into the game - fine. I now understand how to access them within the game but is there no facility for samples to be played on this forum?
It seems very long winded to d'load, install, crank up the game, edit, continue etc if only to find I don't like that sound and have to reload the original or another alternative and try again. There are so many available, judging by the number being posted here, and if they could be heard on site here we could flip through them selecting those we particularly like before d/loading and installing them. Or have I missed something very basic?

No there is no possibility of trying out the sounds without using LFS. If you dislike the sounds in LFS, don't worry, they are produced in real-time, unlike other games which play samples unaltered. They will get much better in time.

Who cares about driver movements?

I am the driver. And I move. IMO turn the wheel and driver off.

Only for replays would driver movement be good. The gear shift hand movement would then be able to be timed correctly, as LFS knows when the driver has shifted.

WTF!?

(includes no gore)

Saying there is no gore (which there isn't) is a little misleading as people died...

I'm fully with the first poster. My favorite days are dry, cloudy days at 10 - 15 degrees or so.

However I am looking forward to my 3 month break from education, starting in a few days time!!!

Quote from J.B. :Decide for yourself. 6 minutes of LH hamilton onboard in Hungary last year, coming from the back:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5JP3GKZG

Nice footage again, but the jumping constantly between different onboards does get a little annoying. Oh, and in response to your question about the splitscreens, I personally prefer each lap played seperately (I can't concentrate on two things so I covered one on them up LOL). But thanks anyway.

TBH I really don't think it is patch X related, although I could be wrong.

Look in the process list: http://www.xefteri.com/article ... 4/images/task_manager.gif
Under the CPU tab, to see if anything is hogging your CPU while LFS is running. LFS should approach 100%, and all other programs should stay below 1 or 2%.

Quote from J.B. :IMO the people who think that LH and FA aren't that special are failing to fully relish a season that will go in history as as an absolute F1 classic.

I mean you only need to watch some on board shots of the two to see that they are driving really, really hard and well. In fact I'll upload another splitscreen vid I made yesterday from q2. You can see that FA's lap was incredibly precise and on the edge (watch his car twitch into the corner before the back straight) but even then there are at least two corners where LH was faster.

http://rapidshare.com/files/37 ... lton_splitscreen.avi.html

And I bet FA was heavy in q3.

I was hoping you would upload some more footage, thanks.

I think another way that can be put is this:

If you are fast in a simulator, you have the skill and potential to be fast IRL. This doesn't include how well you will cope with the fear factor and physical demands.

If you are slow in a simulator, you won't have the talent / skill to be fast IRL.
