1) Extract the .zip-archive and install netKar PRO v1.1 FULL Step 2/3 to a new folder.
2) Start the game (netKar PRO_NT.exe) but exit immediately. A "netKar PRO" folder will have been created in "My Documents".
3) Copy the folders cfg, drivers and licences from your old nKP directory to "My Documents\netKar PRO".
4) Optionally, copy your custom tracks from the the tracks folder in your old nKP directory to where you installed the most recent version. But do NOT overwrite aosta, aviano, crema, newbury or prato.

Thanks Jason for organizing this so flawlessly. The accommodation and karting were both ace, even though I'm not entirely happy with my karting performance, obviously. But that doesn't really matter because it was so nice to meet all the friendly faces of LFS. We're a great bunch, I really must say!
Anyway, I've been following the discussion on how and where to organize the next meet. For what it's worth, I'm definitely up for Scotland! I've only seen a little bit of Glasgow central before so I'd love to spend a day or two in that part of the UK.
And oh, I've uploaded the webcam stream from the Saturday to Franky's FTP if anyone would like to have a look. I'm afraid it's only roughly an hour but I had to take the stream down because apparently it caused the IGTC stream that some were watching to buffer a tad too much.
I already told you I like this movie Jens, but I noticed that even if the footage is nice, the XFGs in the very first scene move rather jerky because of lag. Perhaps you should be more careful when selecting the initial clips since they (not surprisingly) give the first impression of the movie.
I suppose it's hard for anyone to know exactly what qualifies as a small bug in this case, but here's a shot:
When watching a replay that was saved server-side on a dedicated server (ie with the /save_mpr command or if autosave= was set to "2" in the server config) the skins will not be downloaded by the client. Regardless of what "download skins for replays" is set to LFS will just display "Can't load skin : [...]". This includes both car and helmet skins.
As far as I know the bug is easily reproducible. Just grab any replay that was saved on a dedicated server.
A second alternative would be to use older versions of the software that do not come with such silly restrictions. What you want is Ventrilo Server v2.1.2 and Ventrilo Client v2.1.4.
Um. No, there has not been such a competition. The background image that we can see today was just something Scawen threw in there at some point. It will be changed eventually.
I've been looking up flight prices and unfortunately going to either Bristol or Cordiff is absolutely out of the question. The cheapest round trip is $400.
Flying from Gothenburg to Stansted seems to be a much better alternative, but then I'd obviously have to travel to Abergavenny by train. The train tickets aren't unreasonably pricey (~35) but the departure and arrival times appear to be tricky to match with the event and the flights. At least from/to Abergavenny.
I'm going look further into the alternatives. But before I do, I'm curious: Is anyone going to go past/near Stansted/London by any chance?

Alright, the qualification starts in 15 minutes! We will now password-protect the server (see first post of this thread). Again, feel free to join anytime before or during the qual, but do not join after 20:30.
The server will be re-opened for some more pick-up racing when the event is over!
The qualification begins in about 26 hours, by then the server will be password protected (the password will be posted in the first post of this thread). You may join the server at any time before or during the the qualifying but please do not join mid race (after 20:30 CET). A few of us will be online a couple of hours before the event for some testing and pick-up racing!
Also, we've decided to punish the LX4 drivers with a penalty weight of 60 kilograms. That should make for some good racing.
See you all tomorrow!
PS.
Don't worry if you can not make it to this event, it is very likely that we'll organize similar events in the future.
