I'm interested. I could book a cheap flight to Stansted (would need to know the date early on, though *hint*) and take a bus or train from there - Or perhaps Becky could pick me up? Looks about right on the map.

I've got one extra copy of Half-Life 2: Episode One which I'm willing to trade for something. Preferably Half Life. I'm not expecting to find anyone to take me up on that offer though, so if you want Episode One, just send me a PM whatever you do have got to trade with!

I've got an Acer P243w (24"). It's fine for desktop usage, but I'm experiencing some tearing when watching video and playing LFS - Especially when the camera is panning. It's nothing I can't live with though! The same goes for the one faulty pixel which is constantly bright green.

RallyCross fans shouldn't have a problem recognizing this one although the height map isn't very accurate.

Quote from RouteKaster :PD.: Do you know an easy way to make windows open this DOS programs without openning a window???? I read about a way but involved creating three files. Isn´t there a way of configure windows not to open DOS windows or running them minimized.

Cheers

Well, I'm absolutely positive there is a better way but here's what I thought of off the top of my head: Create a shortcut to Aonio.exe and edit its properties. Here's an example of what the target should be:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start /min D:\Games\LFS\aonio\Aonio.exe

Three Left 4 Dead 2 copies up for grabs!

Hey guys,

Left 4 Dead is currently €37,49 (~£34) a piece at steam, but there's also a 4-pack available for 112,49€ (~£102) which I went ahead and bought. So, I've got three spare L4D2 copies. I'm willing to put across each for a quarter of what I paid for the bundle (~28,5€). We'll work at the exchange rates in due time.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Edit: All copies are sold!

Yeah, well this is probably not a bug. Check the following two lines in your server config file (most likely setup.cfg).

// nogfx/invisible
/dedicated=nogfx

If the /dedicated= option is set to "nogfx", the dedicated server process will launch in a window, so you can see it. If it's set to "invisible", the process will be launched in the background, meaning that it is indeed running even if you can't see it.

That people are begging others to buy stuff for them pisses me off as well! Not only does it ruin the thread but it also has a negative impact on the forum as a whole - We really don't need such a juvenile atmosphere.

Anyway, I bought GTA4, Mirror's edge, Audiosurf and Samorost2. I also would've bought the iD Super Pack, but I bought it the last time Steam had a similar sale, whenever that was.

Thanks for the heads up, op!

Edit: mblixt, NFS: Shift will be on sale (37€) until 18:00 tomorrow (local time), then I guess it'll be 50€ again. The holiday sale, along with its varying sets of offers will continue until January 3rd.

Nice one, Jens. Although the footage does look kinda weird when the camera "hits" the curb and is nudged an inch.

Anyway, here's the liveforspeed.se direct download link as per normal. Sorry about the delay.

Hello again,

After being on hold for several months the project is now back on track. In its current state the setup should in theory be able to broadcast a live video+audio webcast to 50-100 viewers (depending on video quality). It's also possible to broadcast the voices of one or several commentators, do intros, inbetweenos, outros, etc. I haven't really thought this through properly yet!

Naturally, I'd like to know in which areas the project needs improving, therefore I am looking for a handful of events to broadcast. So, of you are an adventurous league organizer willing to work with me on this. please send me a PM.

I struggled a bit with the installer.

For unrelated reasons I'm running low on space on my system drive (C so I downloaded the installer to F:\ and chose to install LFS into F:\LFSZ28. Halfway through the installer the task failed, along with a balloon tip from the systray saying I'm running low on space on my system drive (C.

I tried setting my TMP and TEMP system variables to F:\, which did not help because, for some reason, the installer seems to use C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch as a temporary storage for the install files.

Instead, I opened the installer as an archive with 7zip and extracted, what I thought was the necessary files (/data/*, LFS.exe, , LFS_restart.exe, README.txt and cfg.txt) to a folder of choice. This solution did not work though since most of the data files are stored in the $_OUTDIR folder.

After copying the contents of $_OUTDIR to my lfs/data folder LFS starts, but complains about not finding a few files (SKP_cone and sunscreenALPHA).

PLEASE provide a regular- or self-extracting archive for us that are too lazy to keep our system drive clean!

Not a bug - The AI is still in development.

AI drivers will most likely be able to race in all conditions eventually.

The trick to keep FWD cars from oversteering is to gently get on the throttle as you break.

Not sure how to remedy oversteer under barking though!

Heh, this Thursday I partook in a UFR/XFR@FE1 event á 70 laps. 15 out of 29 racers were able to finish the race. I wouldn't blame the curbs though - If you know that they'll most likely cause your car to flip then simply stay clear. :P

Many pies in advance!

Hey guys, first post since the event.

Thanks Jason for organizing this so flawlessly. The accommodation and karting were both ace, even though I'm not entirely happy with my karting performance, obviously. But that doesn't really matter because it was so nice to meet all the friendly faces of LFS. We're a great bunch, I really must say!

Anyway, I've been following the discussion on how and where to organize the next meet. For what it's worth, I'm definitely up for Scotland! I've only seen a little bit of Glasgow central before so I'd love to spend a day or two in that part of the UK.

And oh, I've uploaded the webcam stream from the Saturday to Franky's FTP if anyone would like to have a look. I'm afraid it's only roughly an hour but I had to take the stream down because apparently it caused the IGTC stream that some were watching to buffer a tad too much.
