Quote from LFSn00b :I think it's open to all who can participate to every race, UK preferred

You obviously didn't read GP4Flo's post. He actually quoted the V1 registration agreement (which you also didn't read, apparently ).

Interesting shots of the developer's tools in the full promo vid.

Quote from Gunn :*edit: wheels only view I can't remember using for any purpose though. IMO it has no place in LFS.

The poll is incorrect since it allows you to vote for the wheels view AND the custom view. They're actually the same. The "wheels" view just happens to be the default custom view.

Ah, the good old blackwood. Now I get it!
Nicely edited and some very nice driving from all the involved drivers.

Kurent, the track files are downloaded and installed separately. Grab the 0.5Y smx files from lfs.net (Direct Link).

Might be a bit too much, yes. Considering that the person with the most WRs (Fox 2) has 92 of them. Closely (!) followed by zeltsonne who has 37 of them. So 200 might be a *bit* steep. But it's always a good idea to set your goals way up there. Oprah said so.

Quote from ReiLar :Now all I need is some nice replays to compare with... Would be nice to have a replay of the WR for Formula BMW FB02 at Blackwood.
Anyone?

Just go to LFS World and click hotlaps. You'll be able to browse and download any uploaded replay (click the WR tab and then on a time to download the SPR).

Quote from JO53PHS :1,300 GB hard drive

OMG THATS LIKE 1.3 TERABYTES - who would use so much storage?

I need to lie down

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/archive
972G 967G 5.9G 100% /archive

My archive is 0,972 TB (which obviously is not large enough). I really could use another 0,328 TB.

Until someone from your area replies you could give the server list at LFS World a quick peek. It displays both the demo and licensed servers.

Edit: If you also want ping times you could use Browse for Speed to view the list of licensed servers. Actually, this application might be of more value to you overall.

You know you're a long time LFS player if you ...

... Have skins like these lying around:

Quote from mathew4445 :Didn't vote? :S

Give it a rest.

Edit: Clever move to group "No" and "If Southern Cross racing asks", by the way. It's not really the same thing, is it? (Rhetorical question.)

Ouch. Sadly that's not exactly how the language files are updated, arco. You should get in touch with someone who has access to the online translation tool. (Drivesafely or thd.)

Another important and quite notable happening was when the MRT was added to LFS (S1 0.3E). This happened in December 2003-A time when I was a demo racer still. I was so envious I got S1 soon after!

Now they're acting up again. Which sucks since, at least in Opera, you will not be sent to the latest post when clicking 'go to latest post' until the skype image has loaded. Which takes forever.

I'll see what happens if I block it.

Edit: Success!

Quote from vane :did you pay that £24 to race or to play tetris?

I agree. This is effin worse than those horrible 'cruise' servers.

Quote from Scawen :Compatible and not worth upgrading a dedi from X30 to X31.

I just compile and upload a new dedi every time there's a new patch even if there are no known changes, because maybe some changes in the patch did affect the dedi in some way.

This way, it will be tested even if not by everyone. I should usually make it clear if it's important to update your dedicated hosts.

Just like when I was in the process of creating the pack for patch X, skinners are welcome to link their FBM skins if they'd like me to consider them for the next release. I do not include public skins without written permission from the author.

I'll look into it when the FBM has been available for some time and the skinnerz have got around to creating some public skins for it.

I've got the same hardware as JTbo, but a bit older graphics card (x800). I am, and I've always been running full level of detail BUT with the dynamic LOD reduction set to 1 (ie very dynamic). These settings have proven to be working just fine for me previously.

But with X30 I am experiencing a drop in FPS. Haven't investigated it though. Nor am I whining. I'm just pointing it out.
