Shouldn't you be having this discusssion with the league organizers then? If they're confident enough to organize an event using a test patch I guess the patch has proven to be rather stable / bug free.
Anything you install from this TEST patch forum may corrupt your LFS installation. It is a forum for TEST patches, bugs are bound to be found. If you dare not risk it, don't install a test patch.
That the table is blank doesn't mean there were no blue flags. It just means that LFS Stats! wasn't looking for them. The table exists because of the reason I mentioned earlier, ie, a too recent stylesheet (probably).
When it's running the default key is Win-4, but you might want to edit the config and comment the part of the command which makes the window transparent.
Without a third party insim application, unfortunately no. You can however limit the amount of AI+guest cars to 1 by editing the /carsguest= setting in setup.cfg. A value of one means that the player cannot add an AI if the player himself is already in the race and vice versa.
Simply create the missing folder (/lfs/data/layout) and upload the file. When you're logged in as an admin type /autox filename. The command only works while you're in the game entry screen (aka lobby).
type /axclear to clear a layout.
In patch X things will be a lot easier, then you will be able to upload the layouts within LFS just by loading them in shift-u mode.
Since I'm interested in printing, for example a full Message of the Day (one or two paragraphs of text) I'd currently need to align a large amount of buttons into a table-structure. A text container with x, y, width, height, length, text would be nice.
While you're at it, how about a text field with variable text length? It would allow me to display a MOTD, detailed information about the server [and so on and so forth] without having to align a large number of buttons.
int TextLen[1] // number of characters char Text[TextLen] // text
The swedish lfs forum (http://forum.liveforspeed.se) has a tweaked phpbb. The visitor may switch between "normal" and column-listed subforums by clicking a button.
Though I was not expecting "+1"s or "-1"s. I was expecting constructive, detailed descriptions of how and why the information could be used. Just like the usual insim discussions. But I simply did not realize that what I was asking for was so much work!
And by the way: Someone just pointed out to me that the debug mode (shift-f8) displays latency information if display names are turned on. I had completely overlooked that feature. It will suffice for now.
Speaking of missed (or ignored) posts; a couple of weeks ago I created this post asking for client latency information in the MCI packet.
Initially it seemed like I was the only one who would appreciate such info, and I can fully understand why Scawen would not want to spend time on a feature only one single person would find useful. But I've learned that there in fact are other programmers out there who agree with me (more or less).
If you guys (or girls) would step forward maybe it would be easier for Scawen to find the time to implement such information somewhere. (I have learned that it does not necessarily have to be the MCI packet, for example).
I have no idea. I'm just happy it failed one week before the warranty ran out instead of one week after. Decided to remove my comment and the attachment though.
