nothing very explicit, but I guess :
Quote from Scawen :...
It was done for the rear wheel drive cars with macpherson strut suspension on the front, actually using a few lines of code from the new tyre physics version.

I found the Audi a bit strange. Maybe that is because I was expecting a rally stage Big grin , and Highlands is very very wide and you can reach very very high speed ... not so "rally". Anyway, I am having lots of fun on it. For those who did not yet tried, it is an awsome "road track" ! I have uploaded some videos showing the 4 configurations :

I like how it is done. I hope we can have such things in LFS one day Big grin

Real cars bring the advantage to have something concrete to compare (about performances, display, sounds, etc ... ), and have some epic drives. For example, run AC with some supercars AI, and clearly having Porsche's, Lamborghini's, Ferrari's and whatever else it proposes going mad on tracks is a total beauty (ok, there are much stuffs not so good in AC of course).
But on the principle, I agree, I do not care about having licensed contents. Having a good physics on the other hand is a must, and LFS ones has some very bad flaws in it, that makes the drive not so pleasant as it could (will) be.

Quote from Sobis :I just wondered Scawen, how different does dirt feel in the new tyre physics? I'm not asking for details, I'm just wondering is the change in dirt driving similar to the change on asphalt? I remember Eric using the word "visceral feel", can the same be applied to dirt?

Something close to RBR for dirt Thumbs up

In mutiplayer, it is not needed to compute the physics of other cars : the computer of the other player is already doing it. The positions have to be known in a fair amount of time to display the cars in the correct places for you. So 100Hz, 1000Hz, or 10kHz, no matter.

When Scirocco will be out we will get :
- the car, ofc
- new tires physics
- ESP
Petals
Scirocco will deserve some handbrake shots.
To be serious, it should be relatively easy to drive and is a real model, I suppose it will be used quite much (it will not take the lead over the GTi anyway)

it is a combination of both. But for sure, tracks in LFS "made recently" are very beautiful, at least it is fine with me !
I find AC having a lot more beautiful cars (loading time is impacted ^^ ), top interiors, etc ... Having such in LFS would be simply awsome, I agree !

To answer the initial question, seeing the efforts done in LFS recently by the devs, I think it is really worth the money spent (even if for now, only one environment is available). You subscribed almost 10 years ago and still play the game ... are the game developers deserving £12 more ? For me, there was no doubt. I am pretty sure I will play LFS for a very long time to come anyway whatever the other games companies will do.

when putting the wheels over the green part of kerbs, there is an ambiant green light shinning inside the car.
The replay is there : http://www.lfsworld.net/get_spr.php?file=108621
I join two screenshots showing the thing at 1s step, it is pretty obvious.

Indeed in Q13 it looks more "real". In previous versions those kerbs were to be avoided at all cost Cool while they weren't looking that dangerous (not too high).

Added to my small request for some cones to forbid the access (at least visually) to the chicane of GP track config when you are driving the Historic configuration, I find a bit clean the braking zone for the last corner of Historic Rev. Wouldn't it be better with some hard printed skid marks on it ?

PB/hotlap deletion : no problem indeed.
Play AC, then when each 3-4 months they change the 'physics' or directly the tire compounds available for some of the cars, your PB/hotlap mean nothing more than nostalgia Big grin . Take a snapshot, and race again !

if I could ask for some cones forbidding the access to the chicane of GP circuit when using Historic configurations, it would be nice. No need for a big barrier, just few cones Smile

That sounds a good hope to me aswell Petals

Quote from Bmxtwins :Speaking of countries, who knows what you are. Italian, American, Scottish, antarctican? You've had profiles on almost every continent! Hard to tell what country you are from, seeing as you change nationalities/names/egos/profiles whenever you feel like it.
