I don't think anyone's done any of that analysis. I just tune the pressure to obtain the desired temperature on a given track. Temperature is way more important than pressure in LFS.
This may change with the upcoming tire physics patch. No word on when it will be released, though.
On the one hand, yes, no one deserves any more sympathy for their demise than anyone else.
On the other hand, everyone dies, and it's impossible to give sympathy to everyone. Furthermore, they probably don't care whether you have sympathy for them or not. To me, logic dictates that their brain has ceased to function, and therefore they are incapable of appreciating your sympathy. Your sympathy is better directed toward those close to the deceased.
Morbid food for thought: when you die and your brain ceases to function, does it not follow logically that you immediately forget your life, that you ever existed?
ASRA Thunderbike race entry fee: $90

Re-passing a Ducati 749 mid-corner at 100 mph with inches to spare: Priceless
News to me, but then I come from the motorbike world, where everyone uses warmers. I guess it helps that it's no big hassle to lift the bike off the ground with front and rear stands.
FWIW, I'm not really one for enforcing real-life regulations in a sim for the sake of emulation (see my comments regarding safety car usage in a sim).
I now realize just how low 40C is, having some real life experience with tyre warmers. FWIW, my real life warmers have two settings: LOW (60C) and HIGH (80C).
Is there any particular reason why we would not want to be able to use the new tyre warmer function in races?
I heard there was some discussion on this topic in another test patch thread but I could not find it. Can anyone point me to it?
Thanks! The bike's okay, geometry's a bit off, though. Steering is still too heavy/slow. Need to lower the front slightly.
Yeah, Summit Point (see below) is probably the worst in the eastern US for surface condition, save for Pocono but no one goes there anymore. It's a roval and the only thing they care about is nascar.
The other track on my region's (Atlantic) calendar is NJMP Thunderbolt, which is a much newer and slightly more complex circuit.
The Mid-Atlantic region goes here, on the North circuit. It's one of the top tracks in the US, but it's 12 hours from me. NJMP is 2.5 hours, and Summit is 4 hours.
I actually had the rear tire spinning up at 9:58, 4th gear full throttle. That particular corner is a bit off-camber on the outside, so it only stopped sliding once I hit the curb with its greater camber.
Thanks! That race was a lot of fun, I just didn't have the motor to beat him. 70HP vs. ~100+HP. When I saw he was always going to be ahead at the line, I let him go and saved my energy for the last two races I still had to run that day.
Jacked it up, the wheel gets progressive easier to turn the higher gear I select. It also spins easier with the clutch in. This suggests that at the very least something is going on down there.
My Dad's new helpful suggestion... "inertia flywheel" whatever that is.
You're just delaying the inevitable. Your clutch is toast.
I'm using my 3/4 year old laptop since I'm at my moms house for a week. I've been using it for about an hour and its REALLY hot. No games just internet and youtube.
Im not playing any games or anything. Laptops on 0% load. Why the **** is it always hot?
Step 1: Open trash can.
Step 2: Insert laptop in trash can.
Step 3: Go to Apple store.
Step 4: Purchase computer for idi... I mean a Mac.
