Quote from 7SEALS :well I find it useless to play the game online with a keyboard/mouse. I can't control the car worth a crap with the mouse lol. I am looking at the logitech G25 wheel/shifter/pedal setup.

after reading the wikipedia article it says they really don't support 3rd party mods for the game? Why is that? There would probably be nascar and kart racing and all other types of cars realistic and fake if there was allowed 3rd party mods

I'd suggest reading everything on the LFS main page. Very, very short version. LFS is made by 3 people, it's being made in 3 stages S1, S2 and finally S3 (not even worth talking about that as it's a long way off, years) we're on S2 now.

The game isn't finished, it's alpha and because of that 3rd party modding would get difficult as things change and would bring up compatibility issues. From time to time we get updates, we test them before they are released, one is coming soon (see all the muppets moaning about it in the other section).

Using real cars cost money, they have to pay the car makers.

Enjoyed the race, there were some fast people there (WR fast) so it was always going to be tough.

Was nice to drive the LX4 for a change and things were going well during the race until I had an almighty slide coming out of the second chicane which carried on all the way into the final turn and ended up as a half spin which cost me a shed load of places

Always like the GP's they have been good so far, really close and clean racing.

Quote from RenvoN :It doesn't really matter what options you have set, that's how the gearbox works in real life.

What he said......and the whole point of the game, you know LFS - Racing Simulator.

Auto clutch gives you an automatic clutch, NOT, automatic gears.

I think the CTRA was relied upon waaaaaaaaay to much and people got lazy, stopped creating and running their own servers. Same goes for the racers, they just went to the CTRA and so other servers just died because they weren't being used.

The CTRA was good but we need multiple (run by different people/teams) and smaller systems/server like the CTRA.

...p.s. stop with these kinds of threads.

Yeah there is a forced pit stop, franky should put that in somewhere.

Quote from Takumi_lfs :Nah, most of them already knows me.

My point was that if you go into a race needing short-cut abuse then you'll have more problems/cause more problems.
garph

You missed the point....and I don't spam or use swearing as abuse in servers.

They're are so ready to have a go at someone, start and argument, not accept mistakes/accidents that they need a short cut to do it, for me that is the wrong attitude to go racing with.

Quote from Takumi_lfs :So what? I do whatever I want. You have the block-key for a reason.

Where did I say you couldn't do something? I also do not like blocking chat as something important might be missed.

It's more about the need that some people to have a swear word or abuse as an f-key short-cut. I think it says something bad about how they are that they feel the need to do that, and the attitude that they are bringing with them into that race even before something has happened

Don't like racing with people like that as you know that any mistake you make or even their mistake will induce a certain bad reaction from them.
F-key Abuse?

Was racing last night and someone clearly had idiot as an f-key short cut, I have seen swearing f-keyed as well at times. I can understand the normal, hello, bye, sorry, no problem but why have abuse as a short cut?

All that says is that you are setting out to have a go at someone, not willing to accept accidents or mistakes and going to cause trouble.

Why is there a need to do that, why do you need to swear so bad it has have a short cut key, just don't get it

Just like the rest of simbins games I don't really like them, play them for a bit then never really go back

The cars look good but I think the tracks don't look that nice and the physics feel strange, like the car is rotating from the middle at times. No real long play for me, end up not playing them after a few weeks...days.

Overclocking the CPU wont get you anymore FPS is Crysis.

Tried Crysis with 2 different CPU's at different speeds with the same graphics card and the FPS was the same, it was the graphics card slowing things down.

Got a new card now and the FPS jumped up, don't worry about the CPU it's fast enough.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :garph, there's a console command for Source and GoldSrc (HL2 and HL) based games to disable the downloading of stuff.. however it slips my mind.

I know but I've never been able to disable it all, always ended up having to download something.

And I hope never, or at the very least a client side option to disable it.

That's one of the/the worst things about CS, DoD and many, many others. Sitting there wating for textures, sounds, logos and all the other pointless crap to download.

Quote from marzman :Your old account was made yesterday and has two posts? Please post with your S2 account, then we can stop thinking it is suspicious.

...you all just sound like the S2 police. It could be a simple mistake/problem, there is no need to jump on him, integrate him and be judge and jury.

Just seems like you're all really serious as if it's your job to find out crackers. Feels wrong

Not to jump to conclusions but you have brought and paid the money for the S2 licence?

You need to go to unlock and enter you game password and username.

0, because it doesn't work (like I want at least) you still see that they've posted, you see what they say if it's quoted and you can still see thread's they make.

Does it acutally let you unlock the game (but it locks when you restart) or say connecting and unlocking?

Or does it never unlock at all?

I've set one of the ATC servers (ATC 60 Lap GP) to the XFG and XRG at Aston Club (as2).

If you'd like another track then let me know, just some where to race for a bit.

Welcome back and happy birthday.

Sorry to sound like a dick but if there was a big book of forums do's and don’ts making a, I'm back thread, would be in the don't section along with an I'm gone thread. Plus you really haven't been gone that long. These kind of threads only really work for well known, well liked, been around for years and years and are leaving/come back for an actual reason, like moving to a place with no internets or something.

...but yeah, welcome back.

Did you actually read that thread?

It was about a mid racer joiner, crashing and then reversing back onto the track/racing line without looking and taking out the leader. The leader saw the yellow flag and the reason, slowed down but couldn't avoid the reversing racer. There is a replay to show you everything.

It has nothing to do with passing for position under yellow flags.

And that thread isn't really about any of that, it's some guy playing mind games and manipulating people.

If you're going to use a thread as an example for something, read it first.

I use the yellow flag system in LFS as a warning that something has happend and I should be aware of that. The yelllow flag system is not really accurate enough to put off passing someone unless you can actually see that the reason for the yellow. Most of the time it will be because someone has run wide at the next turn or 3.

Quote from Jakg :The odds of my car getting sideways in "ordinary" conditions are pretty low, but meh.

Errr, yeah. Same for me and everyone else driving, if the conditions are normal then the chance of crashing is....low.

Just don't expect you magical LFS or karting saves to kick in, as the fear and panic will probably overwhelm them. Just don't say stuff like that, even if you think it don't say it cause it just makes you look stupid.

Sorry Jakq.

Quote from Jakg :As someone who has proved they can instinctively countersteer etc through both LFS and driving karts then I'd say i'm likely to end up better off in an accident than someone like my Mum who'd just freeze.

I'm not the best on the road

I wouldn't really say any of that at all.

I had the same small thought that LFS would some how be there in the back of my mind if something ever happened. After spinning in the snow I can guarantee that it means absolutely nothing.

Like thisnameistaken said, don't think you'll be able to handle anything till the time comes and you find out, which I hope you never have to do.

Quote from wsinda :No, I think that it's you who is trying to save face. That you feel like you've been fooled, resent it, and rather be unjust to Lynce than rethink your position.

Either way, I don't want to be involved in any more of his games.

Like he is trying to point out, there is enough shizzen on the forum at times, having someone purposefully manipulate you is really not nice at all. He could have made his point much easier and much more successfully just by speaking his mind in the first place.

Sorry, but I wont be reading anymore posts.
