I'd spend as little money as you can on that system. Would be wiser to save for a motherboard and pci-e graphics card upgrade. You might even have enough.
If you must update what you have don't bother with the new CPU cooler.
No wonder people have problems when they do stuff like that.
If you need to backup stuff just do folders like setup, skins (all), dds (maybe some others) and certain files not the whole data folder then just copy and paste it into a newer version.
With dual core at 3ghz, must be better for single threaded app's than quad at 2.4 ? Correct. QUAD's only pull away when the software makes use of all 4 cores.
By the time LFS goes multi threaded I'll be needing a new pc That sounds about right.
Plenty room for overclocking on dual compared to quad ? Both the same really. I wouldn't put the thought of overclocking into your choice, there really is no need at all.
Got three identical lcd's waiting to get hooked up .Shall try SoftTH first ,but might go down the TH2go route .
Will nVidia card give a higher resolution with TH2go than ATI ? Wouldn't have thought so, guess they'd be about the same.
No you wont be the first....and why do you want to do this and what will it do accomplish?
And wire is kind of rigid string, the more rigid you make string the more it becomes a stick...so try a stick.
p.s. Thanks for those technical drawings; they really helped me understand things.
.......bahahahahhahaha, you mean you posted stuff like this there, consistently and totally disregarded all scientific facts, never stopped with the none sense so they got sick of it and banned you.
Like some one said before, for gods sake start a blog, its a much better place to do the stuff you do. The off-topic section of a racing sim forum is not really ideal.
You don't need a QUAD core, the E8400 is way more than enough and the QUAD core will only help in certain situations, going with the Q6600 could even cost you performance with most games and apps. 2GB RAM is fine and you could even drop the after market CPU cooler if you wanted to, the one that comes with the CPU is good enough, I'm using it.
Adding a logo to a car skin shouldn't make any error message come up. Did you save the file as a jpg? Are you putting the files in the correct folder? Are they named correctly?
1. No.
2. You press N to bring up the connection list in the bottom right, you should see a green S next to the name of the person(s) who sent you the set. Click on that and it will ask you to name the set, do so and it will be in the list. Just make sure the set that was sent was for the car you're in.
3.No.
p.s. saying you're not a complete noob cause you run good drag times is pretty much meaningless.
No one really cares about your theories, most of them a fantasy anyway and make no sense. When this is pointed out you tend to reply with more nonsense as if it meaningful and proves your point, that’s probably why your threads are so terrible, confusing, frustrating and end really badly.
I'm sure that information is there somewhere. If it's so hard to find then it's not needed (in the way you what to explain it anyway i.e. fixing a compass).
And if they understand that the compass has been reversed (which they would have to find your answer) in the first place then I think they'd understand how to fix it from the theory shown.
