Quote from Mr.Kimi :I've decided to give it a go. I'm not going to do any major changes but over time I'm planning on going through the whole thing and correct the grammar.

Thanks for the effort
But please don't start every word with a big letter in titles.

Knots?
I think I have never seen wind speed measured in knots. It's usually in m/s, which is an SI unit.

It's too late now. You have driven some km online. They won't refund if you do that.
I don't really feel sorry for you anyway. You should have looked around before rushing in to buying S1 and since you prefer Orange Box over LFS, I don't think you would make a good racer anyway. You would probably only crash around online.

It felt like driving a car.

I found out about other great things later.

There were some unlocking system changes in patch Y, so older versions can't be unlocked anymore.

@Turbo_dreams: The licenses only buy content. Just download the latest version and unlock it and you can play with the S1 cars and S1 tracks.

Try reducing the amount of colors. Even 256 will probably do just fine.

Quote from moskvich3v1 :Are you shure ? i see anywhere a XRT s1 with Twin exhausts and on XRT_default skin there are 2 exhausts

The XRT had dual exhaust in S1, but it was removed in S2. You can't have it anymore.

Quote from seinfeld : you have missed something, the LFS WAS great, that is what you have missed.
the game has goten to old, with minmal updates, and egotistical developers, that dont keep the community interested, wait for GT5 or a better game for PC
LFS is DEAD unless it gets a gFX update, and some revised engine sounds that sound like cars, and a better tire and phisics update, and a.. well the list goes on people have been waiting years for it to improve and its hit a wall unfortuantly

That makes no sense. How can LFS be dead when they are selling more and more licenses everyday and the amount of players keeps rising all the time?
The thing why there aren't millions of players online, is because LFS is a sim. It's part of a niche market so the playerbase is really small if you compare to some popular online games like FPS shooters.

Quote from Cash_FLow :Bank account + paypal=S2 here's your solution! thats what i've made and now i got S2 and i'm proud of it!

Well, PayPal doesn't support bank transfers here in Europe. Atleast in Finland credit card is the only way to transfer money to PayPal.

Don't know about the legal issues, might not be a problem if you kept the league "private".

But bringing money to the equation might not turn out to be that rosy. First of all it would scare a lot of people away. Then people would probably race too serious and aggressive which might actually make the problem with accidents even bigger and I can only imagine the amount of arguments about whos fault it was. Nobody really wants to lose money.

Besides I don't think accidents are really that much of a problem. Sure they sometimes happen, but usually 'idiots' don't take part in organized, a bit more serious, races anyway so those races are usually quite clean anyway.

Quote from rainspecialist :hey couldnt we get a ctra server in the demo for the fbm? that would be awesome!

It wouldn't really work, because the CTRA system is so focused on the usernames.

Who cares. Most (if not all) of those guys don't even have a license. Besides they are just words, no need to get all offended.

Nah, I don't like locked sets. It isn't that big difference anyway.

Only place for them could be a stock setup for the road cars. Somewhere in the line of Bob's road setups. Then allow no changes at all to the cars. Ie. stock car racing (and I don't mean NASCAR).

That sucks. I know that people are afraid of the unknown (in this case the Internet). But if your dad would look up the facts it should be easy to conclude that purchasing LFS is safe.
The facts:
This game has been sold on the Internet for 5 years.
This game has a public forum where anyone can register and it's part of the offical site of this game. Yet there are no threads about people being scammed.
Purchasing over the Internet is atleast as safe as purchasing with a credit card in person, if not even safer.

Also LFS may not have the best graphics in the world, but it does have great physics. Maybe you should give your dad a try, he might see it then.

Where are all the good XRR setups?
Whenever I try to do a setup it ends up being too twitchy and the car still understeers too much for my liking.

Quote from Breizh :Hyperactive, I think LFS is near or just past the point where there's enough immersion for very high speeds to be very fun. Like you said, there's nothing like having 800HP on tap. There's enough shake and noise and good physics feedback from the whole car to have the same warp speed feeling as in real life.. Toned down because it's on a computer screen, but very good already.

Agreed. LFS needs a supercar type car, a road car with 600+ hp that is. Grip isn't be a issue anymore either, in my tweak tests a very powerfull car is perfectly driveable with the current physics.

To sum it up:
Without paying you can see 512x512 car skins and 256x256 helmet skins.
By adding extra money to your LFS account you can see 1024x1024 car skins and 512x512 helmet skins. The price is 1£ per 2000 skin downloads.

Realistic crashes is not a question of if, it's a question of when..
The answer is "when it's done"
