It's too late now. You have driven some km online. They won't refund if you do that.
I don't really feel sorry for you anyway. You should have looked around before rushing in to buying S1 and since you prefer Orange Box over LFS, I don't think you would make a good racer anyway. You would probably only crash around online.
That makes no sense. How can LFS be dead when they are selling more and more licenses everyday and the amount of players keeps rising all the time?
The thing why there aren't millions of players online, is because LFS is a sim. It's part of a niche market so the playerbase is really small if you compare to some popular online games like FPS shooters.
Don't know about the legal issues, might not be a problem if you kept the league "private".
But bringing money to the equation might not turn out to be that rosy. First of all it would scare a lot of people away. Then people would probably race too serious and aggressive which might actually make the problem with accidents even bigger and I can only imagine the amount of arguments about whos fault it was. Nobody really wants to lose money.
Besides I don't think accidents are really that much of a problem. Sure they sometimes happen, but usually 'idiots' don't take part in organized, a bit more serious, races anyway so those races are usually quite clean anyway.
Nah, I don't like locked sets. It isn't that big difference anyway.
Only place for them could be a stock setup for the road cars. Somewhere in the line of Bob's road setups. Then allow no changes at all to the cars. Ie. stock car racing (and I don't mean NASCAR).
That sucks. I know that people are afraid of the unknown (in this case the Internet). But if your dad would look up the facts it should be easy to conclude that purchasing LFS is safe.
The facts:
This game has been sold on the Internet for 5 years.
This game has a public forum where anyone can register and it's part of the offical site of this game. Yet there are no threads about people being scammed.
Purchasing over the Internet is atleast as safe as purchasing with a credit card in person, if not even safer.
Also LFS may not have the best graphics in the world, but it does have great physics. Maybe you should give your dad a try, he might see it then.
Agreed. LFS needs a supercar type car, a road car with 600+ hp that is. Grip isn't be a issue anymore either, in my tweak tests a very powerfull car is perfectly driveable with the current physics.
To sum it up:
Without paying you can see 512x512 car skins and 256x256 helmet skins.
By adding extra money to your LFS account you can see 1024x1024 car skins and 512x512 helmet skins. The price is 1£ per 2000 skin downloads. http://www.lfs.net/?page=extra_services
