Quote from sinbad :I think if the "USE TEH SEARCH!!" crew took their own advice and simply didn't post at every opportunity, things would be a bit nicer still.

True. The best would be if everybody just ignored threads like this.

Quote from Backtrack3d :And.. You don't have to be a Dick about it either.

Actually the first reply to a blatantly obvious and already million times suggested idea is required to be made in a dickish manner.

Quote from Matrixi : I simply want a more realistic steering wheel, and I can't see how anyone could be against these proper suggested improvements. If you're happy going about using your G25 in 360 degrees, power to you. That doesn't mean everyone would be in the same boat.

I believe improving the helmets has been on the TODO list for quite some time already. No idea when, but they will come at some point I am sure.

Act Labs shifter is in your price range.

Construction is solid and it can take a beating.

Quote from Tomhah :You get the GT3RS wheel WITH the clubsport pedals (the good ones, with a load-cell brake-pedal) for $299. So to everyone who dont know anything about the wheel, visit www.fanatec.com and take a look at the GT3 RS wheel. I'll say that its better than the G27 (as it isnt much difference from G25, and their new updates is just some extra add's to what Fanatec already had on their wheels/pedals).

You still need a shifter though. For example Act Labs shifter adds another $100 to the price.
G27 reference price is $299, but actual shops are probably going to sell it for less than that.

I agree though that the GT3RS wheel and the pedals are better than Logitechs offerings.

EDIT: The price difference is not that bad right now between GT3RS and G27. But G25 is currently much cheaper.

Quote from bbman :I'm missing the comparison to the GT3RS in your review, since it was clear the G27 isn't much more than an uprated G25... I mean, that's basically the big question when you're deciding on a new (affordable) high-quality wheel...

I think the GT3RS is the better wheel (except the driver issues (?)). It's probably going to be more expensive than the G27 in total, since you need to buy separate pedals and a shifter, and G27s price is not going be 299 for long.

Quote from broken :I really don't know if it will be hard for the devs, since I don't know what language they are coding on, etc... But I can do such "system"(it's something too small to be called system really) in less than 20minutes(and if I'm not f***ing around, but coding it could happen reaaally fast - and I mean 5mins max).

They are using C/C++. Making the name variable change lengths depending if it has colors is not that hard. The hard part is sending the information over a network. It's easier to send and interpret variables of constant length. With a variable length you have to send the information length over too and the receiving end has to determine why the name is this length etc.

I am not saying it would be impossible to do, but simply making the name longer is what I would do in this situation.

Quote from broken :IMO, it would of been better to suggest something like this: When you include a color in your nick - increase the length by 2, and when you remove a color, decrease by 2 again. And the same with all messages.
May also do the same with "\" - but with 1 character.

Programming wise a system like that is a nightmare.

Quote from chanoman315 :Weell like what

What graphics card you have? What drivers you have? What is your primary display (is the HDMI tv it)? What version of Windows you have? Are you running LFS windowed or full screen, have you tried if it works in the other? Does LFS work on any other display than the HDMI? What resolutions were you using on the TV and/or on your regular display? etc.

Details like that. People can't help you solve your problem if you just say "it does not work". More details always help.

You need to provide more details than that.

Quote from Juusom95 :There's not enough grip!!!
I drove BL1 With XRT and I came to the chicane about 100 Kmh and the front tires turned but the car didn't turn almost at all!

You are doing something wrong. Some people have actually reseached this and LFS might actually have too much grip as it is.

Word of advice: User JPG instead of PNG for images like that. I have a 100Mbit Internet connection and I got bored waiting for the image to load. /offtopic

Quote from carey :Not really. I'd rather have the added control another independent clutch would give you (although for realism purposes it would only be applicable to the F1 car).

There is only one clutch paddle in a F1 car.

You are probably confusing dual clutch gearboxes (DSG, PDK, etc) with having two independent clutch pedals (or paddles). Those types of gearboxes do have two clutches, but in those the clutches are controlled by a computer, the driver does not have multiple clutch pedals.

So what you want is two buttons mapped to the same function.

You can do that with scripts: http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Script_Guide

Quote from carey :Give us the option to map a second independent clutch.

But real cars only have one clutch pedal.

What?

You mean those double clutch gearboxes (DSG, PDK, etc.)?

While those might not be exactly modeled right now, they wouldn't really make any difference to the game. We already have cars with sequential gearboxes with auto clutch, a double clutch gearbox would just be a faster version of those.

Well, the point was that hotlaps are not compatible. "Just watching" doesn't make them compatible

Quote from N I K I :something weird has happened to me this morning
I tried to watch few of my old hotlaps, done in Z13 with Z15 and just when it starts my best lap in t1 it shows OOS (or whatever is the name) error

The test patch is online compatible only. So don't use it to make hotlaps.

Buying with Visa Electron might not be possible unfortunently. LFS Shop only supports regular Visa. Some banks Visa Electron's present themselves as regular Visas so they work on the Internet.

You have few options here.
1. You can contact your bank and ask them if it's possible to use their Visa Electron like a regular Visa card on the Internet.
2. Ask your parents or a friend to use their card to buy LFS for you and give them the money.
3. Ask someone (preferably from your country) to buy LFS for you and use a bank transfer to give them the money.

Suspension updates is another thing you could expect since Scirocco has type of suspension that is not modeled in the current version.
