Quote from Electric Eye :But isn't it a bit cruel for the people that played lfs for years to get xrt taken away?

What is a bit cruel is that people play this game for years without giving any money to the devs and they still feel they are entitled to make demands.

Adding the formula car in to the demo is meant to make the demo reflect more what the full game is about. Before the demo really didn't represent a big part of LFS at all, the race cars that is.

It's what they wanted. It might be so that you can't use R2s on the BF1 now, but you have to remember that all the other cars use the "same" R2s too and the devs wanted that people would use some other tyres too. Before this patch most of the GTR cars for example really only used R2s. So the right tyres for BF1 qualifying are probably R3s.

The track got changed. You need to readjust your layout.

Quote from [The.O.C] LaughingGravy :Last patch you could just get 2 fast laps.

That about says it all. The setup was so on the limit on the last patch that this patches tire changes took it over the limit.

Quote from DragonCommando :The reason I was taught to do this is because if you have to select a different gear than your expected exit one for any reason, you already have the shifter in place, and it just takes a quick flick to put it in the right gear.

Isn't that the reason why race drivers heel and toe to a lower gear? So that they are always on the right gear and they don't have to guess which gear they should engage and to what revs they should blip their throttle.

Quote from [The.O.C] LaughingGravy :Yeah I hope they fix it soon

It is supposed to be like that. R2s are meant to be this soft qualifying tire, it's not meant to be driven longer distances. What you should do is change to R3s (or R4s) and/or change your setup so it's easier on the tires.
What you should also note that all R2s are the same compound, so R2s might be suited for the lower powered cars, but not for the more powerful ones.

Yeah. If your card supports it there is no reason to turn it off and if it doesn't LFS can automatically recognize that and turn it off.

Quote from shiny_red_cobra :I wish the current hotlaps charts could be archived, there's a couple years of LFS's history in there.

They are.
Altough there is no way to view them currently, but maybe in the future..

Another car that's weight distribution has always bothered me is the XRR. For XRT and XRG it's reasonable that the weight is a bit front biased, but the XRR is a race car yet it is even more front biased.

I read about this cool new racing game in a forum I used to visit back in 2002 (I think, it was one the really early versions). I had few races with friends, but I wasn't really in to sims back then. I stopped playing when it turned out that I would have to pay to get the full game (S1 release). Later after I got my driving license I started to get more in to cars and car sims. I preferred netKar at some point and S1 wasn't worth the money for me. A bit later still I found out that there was a alpha version of S2, then I tried the demo and finally LFS was good enough to spend some money on..

Yeah, Victor is correct. The point of heel and toeing is to keep the car stable and ease the stress on the drivetrain when you are braking and downshifting.
It's just the current physics of LFS allow you to not do it sometimes without loosing the rear end and there is no drivetrain damage either (except clutch heat). Which is why you can often get away without it.

Quote from Victor :yeah, I hope this next sesason can last until S2 Final. I don't know how long a season it will be though - probably not the longest of seasons. But it's probably worth having this shorter season anyway. The alternative is no hotlaps at all until S2 Final and I think that's not desirable either.

That post could start a lot of rumours

LFS ran really poorly with Ati Radeons. Good thing I didn't have one back then, but my friend did
