I can't remember exactly when I began getting into racing games, but I think this list *should* be fairly accurate to my "racing career":

Daytona USA Deluxe (PC)
Test Drive 4 (PC)
Sega Touring Car Championship (PC)

Killer Loop (PSX)
Moto Racer (PC)

1999:

Racing career, girls (and for the inverse case depending boys) can betray you at any time - your racing career can't.

Silent and quite talented, or loud-mouthed and untalented?

Black. Nothing to hide bodywork flaws like a nice and dark paint.

Meh, on the fence about this one. Many of the corners that made Donington, well, Donington are still there, but maybe I'm not a huge fan of the infield section. I guess it's not too bad considering that size-wise it's the same as old, not much room to work with probably. I pray that Tilke does not flatten the circuit or I (and possibly other Donington fans) will be way more ticked off than now.

Shakugan no Shana skin, private for now because most people hate my skins. Inouva (and other Shana fans), if you want a version without car number and my name on the roof, PM me.

-1.
Damage might teach lesser experienced drivers not to crash. Without it, drivers can just grind the rails at South City to their heart's content.

Oldschool, because the new ones are too wannabe retro for my liking. Yeah, this is coming from a guy that likes tuned up Japanese sports cars, but hey, nothing wrong with some old-time American muscle, I guess.

@Inouva: Is that Shana from "Shakugan no Shana" ?
She is one of my favorites ^^

Logitech DFP/Momo wheel and pedals.

Neither personally, both games are bloomed and "HDRI"'d to all crud. However, if you like drifting I guess maybe GRID is OK.
Recommend a kid with a tiny budget a wheel

Well, with the 50 USD of allowance I'll be given this Chirstmas, what wheel meets my criteria? I've been thinking of the Logitech Momo and/or the DFP but am searching for alternatives just in case there's better.

From most important to least:
- _Must_ be found for under 50 USD (EBay doesn't count).
- Quality is same or greater than Logitech Momo or DFP.
- Noise is a concern, I don't want to hear the wheel squeaking loudly over tyre slip/squeal/engine sounds etc.
- Has a "center stripe" on the "rim" of the wheel to help me tell if I have the wheel in the center or not (I tend to wander with my steering).
- Clutch pedal is a big plus, but I don't really mind not having one.
- Minimal of 5 buttons.
- Can have the shifter not only on the right, but on the left, too. (I like my driver seats on the right and not the left.) Minor thing.
- Working on consoles is a plus but it's the least of my concerns.

FZR at KY2, the car spun a lot and to this day I still hate the FZR although many of my skins are ironically for this car.

I just hope the "new" WRC cars have anti-lag.
Most thrilling video game moment?

So we've had frustrations, how about some thrills?

Well, I'll start first, an old childhood memory of playing the very first Gran Turismo on PSX: back then I had just gotten Dodge Viper GTS to race in a non-modified cars only event. All but the last round went smoothly... because I spun out four times (!!!) and lead car was hard to keep up with. I spun again (!!) on the start of the last lap and come back to win the race by 0.014 seconds.

Never again will I have that close of a finish in any game :/

Braking more gradually and less aggressive driving may be more helpful, even though this might slow down the laptimes. On the other hand, you could run a bit more tyre pressure all-round to see if that helps, too.
Defining 'drift' ? Where it starts- where it ends?
GTR_Yuni

Ah, that lovely term that starts up the flame wars of drivers. Well, I wonder what exactly is considered a 'drift'. What makes a drift, well, a drift? Can drifting be beyond just a powerslide whose goal is to stick the car's back end as far out as possible? Or is there a certain "slip angle" that drifting is no longer drifting?

A fully race prepared Spec Miata goes for 7000 USD and up, sounds a bit expensive, but not as expensive as going for an open-wheel series. Skip Barber doesn't seem to be really an option, as I don't see any support nearby the state I live (checking the website).

As for preference of what I want to race in, I honestly do not mind racing in any disipline, so much as long as the yearly cost is under 15000 USD (assuming I don't wreck my ride, obviously). However, I'm not the biggest fan of ovals.
Legal racing for cheap in the USA?

In the future, I was thinking to attend some SCCA events when I got my driver's license. But, I find that there are not that many racing circuits around in New Hampshire or Massachusetts. That's not my point though, since I'm young and just want to race (legit as stated before, mind you) as a hobby, I am wondering if there is any way to enjoy actually racing, but without going broke. Keep in mind that I am not exactly rich, and the US economy doesn't really help.

No matter what car I drive on Blackwood, no matter what version of LFS it was (from the old S1 to the public S2 versions), the track is always a thrill. There's something about this track that keeps me err, coming for more.

Rookie looking for some GTR/GT2 action

Just wondering... are there any leagues out there running the GT2/GTR's right now? IGTC just ended and I don't think any teams will be willing to take me up for a spot on their teams for the upcoming seasons. At this time, I have plenty of time to start long races in the weekends.

What is a league that is...
...going to be starting in the next two weeks?
...uses either the CTRA or MoE-restricted GT2, or "normal" GTRs?
...going to have a large variation in race events (ie. 2 hours races, then 12+ hour endurances, etc.)?
...holds drivers to the highest standard of CONDUCT, but has some leeway for slower, perhaps more timid and inexperienced drivers like me?
...has race starts on Saturday, GMT time 16:00-4:00?
...does not require me to compete in a "team" for shorter races (less than 4 hours)?
Anyone else using less than 60% front brake bias?
GTR_Yuni

Recently, when I was trying to create a setup for a CTRA-GT2 restricted XRR, when the braking balance was more than 70% I always felt a rather heavy understeer when trying to lightly turn and brake at the same time. Because of that, I tried a quite low brake pressure and 55% front brake bias. I feel with that kind of setting I can control the car much more, maybe others tried this too?

Hi,
The Marcos LM600 has always been a favorite car for me, I wonder if anyone will create a skin for me.

Driving game that fulfills my needs?
GTR_Yuni
S3 licensed
Okay, so I still enjoy LFS from time to time. But I have a "ricer/tuner" side too. However, I hardly enjoy Need For Speed ProStreet, and the Tokyo Extreme Racer series is getting old now.

So, what games fulfill at least some of my needs?
- Car livery editing, really editing, no preset vinyl crap.
- Contains mostly Japanese cars, but varied models.
- Has a somewhat "simulation" feel, but quick to pick up.
- Parts customization, ie. varying tyre types, rear wings, etc.
- Starting grid of twelve cars or greater.
- Online.
- Mountain road ("touge") and "normal" circuit races.
- PC is a big plus.
