Quote from col :Do you truly and honestly believe that those guys in the crowd were "Lewis fans making themselves up to look like Lewis"?

If you don't, then why did you make this comment? just trolling?
If you do then... there are no words that really do justice to your naivety.

Either way, it makes me sad to hear comments like this from an LFS forum moderator.

Yes, that is how I read it. And no I don't troll, why would I?
I'm not naive, perhaps ill-informed?
I'm glad for you that you feel sad, because that's exactly how you wanted to feel. Your dream is now fulfilled.

Why would my comments make you sad either way? Because you want me to be a racist? Give it up fool. Take your nonsense elsewhere. If you think a moderator should not express their opinions and thoughts then you have your head in the sand.

Do you think Eccelstone is trying to be racist? You imply it. I think he is not.

Quote from Jertje :They were standing in a crowd with black faces and wigs shouting puto negro as far as I can recall. I really doubt they were happy Hamilton fans.

Thanks for filling me in with those details. Can you show me the evidence so that I can judge for myself? I agree that would be strange behaviour indeed.

Check to make sure you saved it into LFS itself and not just the CMX viewer.

Quote from col :
If the incidents amongst fans were racist then that's serious and he chose to make light of it rather than to tackle the issue head on, that would make him and his comments complicit with racism.

No it wouldn't, not ever. But in any case, what is racist about a bunch of Lewis fans making themselves up to look like Lewis? No racism there.

Some groups get all bent out of shape when they can't convince people that racism occurred when it didn't.

Someone told me an Obama joke, something about having to change the name of the Whitehouse. Another fiend said it was racist, but I couldn't see any race being degraded, defamed or persecuted in the joke. PC is out of hand.

Certainly Eccelstone's comments were not racist in any way.

Quote from danowat :Ok, there is no way to get THAT sniper rifle without killing him.

You could steal it if you are a good enough thief. I have now killed three raiders who had the sniper rifle, so there are plenty out there in the game.

Quote from GrampaD :.... a huge development megacorp like EA will have already released a general-purpose racing simulation engine that will support all vehicles (cars, motorcycles, bicycles) and all tracks, fully support modding, and all the data will be in a database.

It is highly unlikely that EA will ever release anything that can even vaguely be called a simulator. Perhaps some other company, but not EA.

Many of us aren't fussed about modding LFS anyway, seeing what it has done to other racing games. But opinions do vary and there doesn't seem to be a majority in either camp.

It has always been one of my favourite cars to drive and race. I do wish it had about ten extra horses and some decent tyres though, but all the same it's an honest little car that makes for some close racing.

Quote from major_syphillis :
Yeah, cause missles pointed straight at America is a great thing.

How is it different from the US pointing missles at everyone else? If history is any judge, Cuba (and every other country in the world) would do well to have thousands of the things pointed at the US. We all deserve the right to defend ourselves against the evil force that threatens to destroy our way of life. We're happy how we are thanks.

It's called "freedom". Ever heard of it?

In WoW, do you also get shunted off at every other turn while trying to gain your achievements? Do they make you play parts of the game over and over again that you have no interest in just so you can gain an achievement in a part of the game that you already enjoy without achievements?

I can only speak for myself, but motivation to race more would come with better-populated private servers. The 3-5 lap public pick up race n00bie shunt-fest is the biggest demotivator of all.

A previously successful "achievement-based" exercise in LFS was LX Month with Vic's autoX server app running. There is still room for exactly that type of feature in LFS online, and I think it would enjoy longevity as well.

A pat on the back for you though for seeking solutions and trying to energize the community. Good show mate.

Quote from major_syphillis :
And watch out for Isreal, which of most wanted McCain to win

We all know that Israel is just another US state anyway, so what's your point exactly?

Quote from major_syphillis :
Next is missles back in Cuba

They deserve to have missles as much as any other country, including the USA.

As said above:
TRY MAKING YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION BETTER.
You are making it worse for yourself.

He's already answered that post mate, he has understood that issue now.

Quote from marakol :yes i get it

He's making nothing worse for himself.

If people continue to put shit on the guy they can take a week off from the forum.
What a dreadful reception some members have given this poor guy.

He's not whining, he's reporting a problem that he'd like help to resolve. You are the one whining.

Quote from hansonator69 :Were the deafult skins like Scavier, ATL, so on and so on edited to matche the new mappings?

I don't think so, but for most of the skins it probably won't matter much, if at all. Detailed skins might have a few issues where polygons on the car models may have been added or altered.

Quote from marakol :but why so many men mak me funny man im not dum i just not speek many english sorry

Because their actions are ruled by their egos. They don't feel like their lives are worth anything unless they are in conflict with others. Don't let a few babies ruin your time here.

I'm so glad that the Palin freak didn't get anywhere near a seat of power. The last thing the US needs is another moron preaching that humans used to ride on the backs of dinosaurs.

I fear though that the biggest challenge for Obama now, is going to be avoiding assassination.

Quote from danowat :Potential spoiler alert.......

I gained a sniper rifle from a random Raider in the wastelands in the first hour of the game. Ammo is hard to come by and when you can buy it usually it is a small amount. So if you do gain a sniper rifle, use it only when necessary.

When you shoot a gun from someone's hands it appears to fall on the ground, but really it stays with that character. You can retrieve it from their body once you kill them. While this is unrealistic it saves you the trouble of trying to find the object in such a colourless and cluttered landscape.
I know this doesn't help you in the minefield scenario but there's your answer I guess.

And -1 for KERS in real F1 racing too. Stupid idea. Sad to see F1 succumbing to political correctness.

FFS give the guy a break.

Marakol, does the game lag when playing single player (not online)? Or does it only lag when playing online?

Almost level 10 now, and going into situations where I clearly don't belong.... but surviving and thriving. If you want a hard challenge, cross the river into the main city areas.

Great game. Despite some similarities to Oblivion, it's a totally different vibe.

How does the goal to live for 140 years make your 140 years of life 'better'?

Quote from 5haz :LZ beat Queen because LZ were one of the bands that invented hard rock/ heavy metal, but they were something a bit more sophisticated and clever than simply Metal bands.

Yeah they were clever enough to rip off a whole swag of blues standards and sophisticated enough to keep a lid on all the times they got sued for it.

People get too caught up in their own life story, so much that it consumes them completely. You are not your job, you are not your relationships, you are not your successes, nor are you your failures.

We become a slave to our own expectations and spend every moment of our lives trying to satisfy our own version of who we think we are. It's a time-consuming, dramatic, draining, and miserable existence.

Stop worrying about who you are in your life and who you must become, these things are not the most important part of life but we convince ourselves that they are.

Don't waste another precious day getting caught up in the drama of your own life story or thinking about the day when things will be better. Just enjoy living and accept whatever the day puts in front of you - give it your full attention and enjoy what unfolds. Don't wait or wish for better days, choose to have one right now.

Quote from xaotik :
Another prominent "feature" of the stock quests is that there is rarely a time constraint on them - meaning you can do any section at any time, even game-years later, and it won't matter.

There are areas and towns in Fallout which you won't survive if you are not yet strong enough and/or are poorly equipped.

If Fallout3 follows it's predecessors, there's some serious trouble up ahead for your character.

Anyway, apart from the storyline, I'm really enjoying the gun battles and the gore in this one. Also (like the previous Fallout games) some of the perks (perks are like special abilities) make for interesting questing and battles.

The open style gaming where you can go where you want is preferable to me than the very linear approach used in games like Half Life 2. I don't like games that have invisible walls preventing you from exploring interesting-looking territory just off the main path. It's great to take your time and follow your nose.
