Maybe I'm one of the black sheep, but I'd love a weight-stripped XRG. Dump the extra junk like the seats and dashboard, door trims etc, I reckon it would be a punchy little race car, and still quite friendly on tyres. It might make a good rally pig too in this configuration.

Quote from The Very End :You belive that the pace car just will appear by itself?

The AI can already drive out of the pit, lap, and repit. That's all an AI pace car would need to do. If it was speed-limited with penalties for overtaking during the parade lap(s), it still doesn't seem too complicated to develop.

F1 2007 is a story of how McLaren engineered the perfect loss. They painted the scheme for the entire season. First they made it a thriller :scared::checkered:checkered , then a farce :monkey: :soccer: :monkey:, and finally a side-splitting comedy :hihi: .
They are currently preparing for their 2008 production which is tipped to be an epic tragedy :tit:

Yep, although it can be sometimes annoying, it's fair in the grand scheme of things.

Quote from Marc Collins :
Somewhere around 16 degrees seems to be the closest to reality, but it will be slightly different on one car versus another.

My road car has a lock of 44 degrees. It's not pushing any boundaries of reality and indeed it has a tight turning circle and is easy to park. And it's a large car with a 4 litre engine and RWD, not a shopping trolley like a Civic.

FWD cars though tend to have less available lock than RWD, generally speaking.

Do you have any other USB ports available? My G25 conflicts with some of my other USB devices if I use certain ports, this may be happening in your case too. I'm still running two controllers but only one is USB, the other is serial.

Quote from Bawbag :... all those people who voted yes had to do was delete them all themselves.

Quote :Yes, I would not mind that my online pb's are cleared now with the changes in patch Y.

People who voted "yes" were saying that they "would not mind" if their own PB's were deleted. They didn't vote for deletion of everybody's PB's they just indicated what was ok to be done with their own.

In this case there are no questions at all.

Quote from Trondhe :If I want to have some fun and add loads of AIs with a F1 car on a rally track I should really be able to do so.
Realistic or not.

Go get 'em tiger! How dare they restrict the silliness! Burn the stands! Riot in the streets!

Quote from ajp71 :Not yours

All the people moaning because the corner is lower and they can't beat their old times (but are naturally opposed to hotlaps being wiped).

I don't give a rat's about old PBs , I just really enjoyed the way that part of the track flowed and the way you had to really nail it to gain the extra tenth or two. The character of that section is destroyed for me, replaced by a poorly-designed section. It probably doesn't matter so much in the normal direction, but in the reversed direction it's a real let down.

Quote from ajp71 :...what's this obsession about having as fast a track as possible?

Whose obsession is that? I can't recall ever having it.

I'm glad to see the run off reduced, but I'd prefer to see that particular section widened instead. The run-off was always a bit odd anyway but the corners flowed very nicely. They don't now and I'm not pleased with it. That's just the way I feel about it.

I met a sweet girl from Nigeria in the meeting room, but she took all my life savings, my house, everything. Then I found out her name was Robert. Easy come easy go.

+1 from me. A warm up lap behind an AI pace car would be great IMO.

IIRC there have been several patches named like that and they weren't test patches.

Quote from xaotik :Wow. You're a better man - or have more spare time - than I, mister. Admittedly I've only done enough laps to call it anywhere close to having an understanding of the track on the LX4, XRG and FBM so far.

Old layout was fantastic in the FO8, FZR, XRR, FOX and XRT and LX's at least. I must admit, I don't drive the FWD cars hardly ever, perhaps the new layout is challenging in those cars but I'll probably never find out.

Quote from joeynuggetz :Is there a way to make all the default skins hi res and and not download any skins while you're online and see other racers use the high res skins you have locally on your HD?

If you share your high res skins with others they can put them into their skins folder and enjoy the same quality that you enjoy.

Quote from Drunken Predator :Not to take ya down as a whole G25 is an ok deal, but for someone who mainly wishes to get a shifter it makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm happy for you that you know what you want and I hope you get what you want. All I can say is that I own two G25's and the one on my desk is one of the oldest ones in the world. I've been using the shifter constantly since day 1 and it hasn't even hinted at failing.
My spare G25 is still wrapped in plastic. As an owner of various Momo's and DFP's I take no chances with Logitech's quality assurance, but so far I haven't needed to crack open the box and replace my original G25 wheel, pedals, or shifter. I'm sure that if I treated the shifter like a pogo stick it would probably break, but I learned a long time ago to treat input devices with care. They are what they are.

Quote from xaotik :Which car were you using? I find that the experience varies widely from car to car due to the apexes not being as clear as they used to be and some cars can take a much different approach.

All cars.

It's quite worthless for me to give an opinion on TrackIR user's preferences when I have never even used it and therefore can draw no comparison.

I dislike the track changes very much. Especially for the reversed direction which has always been one of my favourite tracks. I saw no need at all to change the track the way it has been changed. It doesn't flow any more like it once did. The chicane is now an annoyance rather than a challenge to get the timing and weight shifting correct and the area near the straight has become somewhat processional where it used to offer a better chance to overtake, it now seems to be much easier for a slow car to defend its position against a fast opponent.
I've given the new layout a good try and for me it is now quite ordinary. I'm really quite disappointed in the change. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" fits this situation perfectly IMO. Sad.
