-1 for a universal, on and offline license-based lock out. As stated, there would always be a hack and such things could potentially inconvenience offline racers
However, a server admin option as Tweak suggested could be a good compromise  Actually, is it possible for some smart codemonkey out there to implement a points-based car lockout system now?
What the hell's wrong with espresso I ask you? Damn punk kids these days, with their confounded guarana and ginseng and taurine and goji berries and now performance-enhancers for frickin gaming (ffs) and just get off my damn lawn!! When I was a lad, "performance enhancement" was being threatened with a caning :geezer:
They don't drift for show or for points on dirt-ovals and in rallying, it's necessary due to the low-grip surface. The idea in both of those sports is exactly the same as tarmac racing - finish as fast as you can. Noone's saying drift is useless and should be avoided, just that it has its place.
Didn't see anything about this alleged "drift-racing" in that wiki either.
I grew up riding Frankenbikes my brothers and I would slam together out of old bits - dad even carved us a track in the scrub with some earthmoving gear. Until a year ago or so I used to BMX everywhere and hurt myself (a lot). Had a small vert ramp in my last share house with a mate a few years ago. Riding home from work and hitting the ramp straight away was pretty sweet
Got myself a 27-speed X-country bike last year for my own Xmas present (I've had mountain bikes before but this was my first new one). Great machine - tough as hell, sprung front & rear. Hasn't been very dirty yet through a combo of no time, noone to go riding off-road with (don't know the trails around Melbourne, haven't lived here that long) and the fact that I ride to work - by Friday I hate the sight of my bike because it reminds me of my cubicle It's a touch on the heavy side though. It's not the most practical thing for street riding but hey, it looks hella tough 45km guys, jeez, that'd probably kill me
Loads of riders here in Melbourne - I heard the other day that bikes outsold cars last year. Again! Judging by the bike traffic in the morning that doesn't surprise me at all...
New everything  We have 3 XR variants and two variants of pretty much everything else, except for open-wheelers and the sodding RB4, which sorely needs a 300+hp version to make rallyX a bit more interesting
Anyway, before any new cars I'd much prefer new tracks - instead of adding bits to existing tracks
Over 540 tracks now to be precise, 90% of them real-world
But GPL was never intended to be modded. The fans hacked GPL to find out how it worked, then scratch-built their own mod tools after Papyrus abandoned the game Those 540+ tracks have been built by many many builders over the past decade as well. Thankfully, the community still make stuff because for me it's still the benchmark race sim. With regard to quality control (rFactor's Achilles heel) it's easy with GPL mods because (a) it's ridiculously hard to make anything for GPL which discourages almost everyone from trying and (b) hardly anyone plays it anymore anyway, and those who do are such sticklers for accuracy that nothing gets through without being researched to death
Not the same with LFS. It's not even finished yet so I think asking about this kind of thing is a bit premature.
What I'd like to see is more LFS-made content. I agree with the main thrust of Ian H's post a little while back: adding some more corners to an existing track environment (as has been done endlessly with Aston and South City) isn't exactly what I'd call "new". Yes, it's a new track layout, but most of it was already there. The scenery, elevations, background and 90% of the corners were already well-known so once you get a grip on the extra corner or loop or two, you're back where you were watching the same stuff whizz by and taking the same lines through the same corners until you have to wake yourself up to get through the new section, then get back to where you were, aiming for that same chicane/hairpin/straight you already know like the back of your hand It's not a dig at the devs in case anyone's loading up, I'm just spoiled I suppose. I'm used to a whole lot more places to drive with all the GPL tracks available. It helps that I like 1960s F1 cars better than anything too...
Jeez, aroX123 - if that is your real name - this is pretty n00bish behaviour for someone who's been around here a whole year. Do you honestly think noone's suggested user-made cars in the past five years? Or do you just like the attention? Just from my own observations, attention from Ian H on this forum isn't necessarily positive (no offence Ian ) but hey, maybe you're a masochist. Yes it's a real word. Look it up.
I won't explain the situation, but that's definitely me in the mask. It was a 21st birthday present and I wore it proudly, many times on stage with the band - the zip mouth is surprisingly easy to sing through.
If the human mind couldn't conceptualise or visualise things that aren't in existence yet (or aren't sitting right in front of you) I don't think we would have evolved to this point in our existence. For example:
I can see a letter "a" in "amzing" which allows me to make sense of that quote
