Quote from ACCAkut :btw, Whiskey, why the hell do you need 88 tabs ??

I can tell how I use 100+ tabs.

I have a tab for every site I frequent, thats 10. Then a few tab groups for projects I got and som stuff I need to take care of or read 30tabs. Webcomics, one tab each to keep track of what I have seen 10 tabs.
Then I visit a link farm or slashdot, middleclick on stuff that looks interesting browse through the page until I get to the bottom or when I was last time 5-50 tabs.

Same for research, google for something, middlecklick anything that looks interesting do this for a few pages of googleresults and then take care of the tabs, 5-20tabs.

Bookmarks are obsolete.

The only benchmark Im interested in is how well it performs with 50tabs and limited amount of ram.

Only opera has survived my tests, and chrome starts to swap horribly quite quickly, firefox was slightly better than chrome the last time I tested. My test is obviously slanted towards the pages I use...

elinks for the win!

emacs-w3 but it is quite slow sadly.

dillo, fastest browser ever (because it does not support anything)

Actually I am an opera user since the time when you had to pay to skip the ads (only software for PC that I have payed for (that is not a game))

Firefox died when they stopped taking care of addon/plugin creators, it was great with an extendable browser, but currently on every upgrade you have to hunt for replacements that works and then its back to trusty old opera that has everything needed builtin.

At work I use ie6. (for buggy corporate crap that is as old as ie6)

Quote from amp88 :A couple more COTF related videos from speedcafe:

Ford Performance Racing shakes ... Car of the Future Falcon
Nissan Motorsport unveils its 2013 V8 Supercars Engine

From the Nissan engine video it's interesting to hear Todd touch on the parity/balancing of the Nissan engine. As fuel economy is playing an ever-increasing role in deciding the races it's certainly an aspect that will need to be very carefully scrutinised.

Australia, welcome to the DOHC era! (j/k)

These pickups should teach me to not swerve off the racing line on a track day that has drift sessions. Before the photo I did several hard laps trying to get rid of this parasitic rubber (I actually stopped to cool the tyres, but then I saw thatthe problem was not my tyre but the parasite). After photo it took two laps until the tyres felt like non deflated. Car is ecutek tunend STI 2003, tyre is Komoran gamma b2.

Quote from e2mustang :fixed. or is that the new type that does breakdance?

I will probably never learn to spell that word correctly :-)

The car did dance though, while bedding in the brakes [yay!] the fronts got to a point of slight fade and the dance begun (snaking) after a few km of cooling down front discs was measured at 199C (IR thermometer ftw)

Quote from ACCAkut :its perfectly plausible, and considering the trend of downsizing I guess we will see engine sizes like that in the near future.
A flat-8 is not very efficient when it comes to engine bay space I guess, it needs a relativ big base area, but may keep the engine bay short in height.

This is also my concern, I have a similar design project (but kitcar based on a Impreza drive train) and a boxer engine gets very wide. However make the car a bit longer and you get very good cog.

A flat eight with dual superchargers mounted with water based intercooler would be a serious brick of power. The benefit of that setup would be avoidance of long turbo lag inducing pipes.

Food:
Look out for the little fat soldier on restaurant signs, it means that the restaurant is a tourist trap that serves bad expensive traditional food. Instead visit the many italian restaurants that have excellent quality for similar prices or the places where the locals eat that have OK food for very good price.

Cheap food trick: draw a ring around every tourist attraction, move to a position furthest from any rings, there you will probably find non-tourist-infested restaurants, be prepared to order using charades unless you speak Czech.

Beer:
* I visited a beer tasting in an old brothel -> socialist worker canteen -> nightclub -> punk bar (the place were about to be demolished and the punks were helping ) I guess they still hold the beer tastings, in some to me unknown location. Highly recommended, quite cheap, very informative.
* Staropramen brewery tour, quite central, quite useless if you are interested in the art of brewing beer, possibly interesting if oyu like stainless steel and panels with buttons.
* Monastery in the hills above prague. Interesting ales.
* Do try the unknown local brands, they are usually better than the famous brands (better==interesting character)
* Do try to locate a local "three pints is a lunch" lunch place, called Pivnice or Hospoda. I failed to locate such a place, maybe I did not drift far enough from the tourist attractions.

This is going for a ride this weekend (with cofee, without it gets too sweet for my taste).

Add vodka to make it less sweet.

I just got my racing license (anonimized photo), I'm ready to abuse my car on a track.

Quote from Ni-san :"Lastzon!" Nice parking dude

Nice car too Is it a WRX?

Seller took that photo.

2003 Subaru Impreza 2.0 Turbo WRX STI (long name)
Previous owners have played with it some, aprox 80Hp extra from EcuTek. Some extra sound mods: HKS exhaust for a lion roar at accelleration and silly looking 5" outlet (I can fit a fist), HKS dump for loud funny "pssssh!" at gear changes, HKS air filter for flutter as boost builds.
It had coilovers but they are in a box now since previous owner wanted to drive in more than a few mm of snow.

Quote from TFalke55 :So... if the it comes true, that Bernie is involved in corruption, Mercedes AMG will pull out of Formula 1 instantly. There was a press release stating this today. (source: WDR 2 [West German Radio 2]) Otherwise the Daimler could get sued for cooperating with corrupt forces. I wonder if HWA started to built two extra DTM cars already, to fulfill the contracts of Schumacher and Rosberg

I hope (and think that this is what Mercedes actually demands) that they kick the corrupt element out of F1 instead

Quote from J@tko :What an insane race. Absolutely insane.

Yes, its great!

Quote from Intrepid :According to the rule book Maldanado would be seen as in the wrong. But Hamilton is all to blame for that. WHy risk it? Stupid

Yes, it is clearly Maldonados fault (I expect a penalty). But Hamilton has to blame himself for not getting the championship points. This years newborn champion Hamilton does not do such stupid defends (his feud with Massa should have taught him this)

Looks like Heidfeld will be teaming up with Reynolds for enduros maybe?

Not that I take that pic as any proof but Nick is probably the perfect codriver, not always quick but brings the car to the finishline. (I would love a endurance in F1 (instead of driver change, park in front of the other car))

Hidden valley is a sweet race track, several great overtakeing spots, at very few tacks can anyone go last to fourth like Caruso and Lowndes (yes, it has been bettered but with lots of SC or weatherchanges)

Go Lowndes!!!!

Quote from oscarhardwick :Yes because Ken Block crashes.

Fun, but be easy on him, he is out classed at so many levels. It's not very suprising that a shoe salesman who is great at rhythmic gymnastics in a car gets schooled by WRC-, EuropeeanRallyCross- and formula drift- champions. It's like taunting Tony Harding for getting winded in the Stanley Cup final.

DRS:
+ is good when it breaks upp a Trulli train
- when F1 becomes formula vee and its easier to overtake than to stay ahead
- when there are no overtake attempts except on the DRS stright.
This race should have had a shorter DRS zone.

Tyres: The good drivers can manage tyres better and score better. There is also excitement when the tyres go off and lots of overtakes on the last lap.
But there seams to be no way for the team to reliably calculate when the tyre will go off, which gives a lot of randomness to the strategies. I mean that if Ferrari had any clue, they would have pitted when Vettel did, when the cliff was reached it was already too late to pit.

Interesting to see how Button has switched luck with Hamilton.

Sidenote, Love how Schumie did a King Koba overtake on Koba. (sadly It was just a 2s clip I saw and I found no clips on the web)

1. check the smart data to see if the drive is damaged.
2. initiate a full surface scan (the same that you are plagued by, but I hope it will fix things)
3. check the loggbook to see the result of the scan.

Quote from ACCAkut :btw, are they really sure that "American" rally cross cars have more power than their european counterparts? Cars here sometimes top 800hp ...

I was wrong, they have the same 45mm restrictor and 2058cc with turbo. I do not think you can go higher than aprox 600hp with that, but there migth be some National class permitting unlimited.

I like the rubbing is racing attitude, fighting for position is OK but ramming is not.
