Quote from DieKolkrabe :I thought they used fuel bladders in V8s?

Yes they use bladder. I think these are freak accidents that oddly smash the whole tank so much that the bladder must break OR that the cars are built harder so that the bladder has nowhere to go now, but had in the past.

I think 888 is on top becuase all talent are in sync, all aspects/personel are top notch. Not only is the setups top ten in the field, its to the drivers liking, etc.

As we saw, Murphy can still be no1 if everything is in his favour. That is not the end of the field he is used to currently. And I think he just got the setup perfect for daring to go flat out.

Quote from Storm_Cloud :I wonder if he would have been better off being placed into a lower order team (Spyker, or whoever were around back then) to learn his trade and appreciate that the drivers in the worst team work a good deal harder than the front runners just to keep their cars on the track.

Sounds like you want something like the Satellite teams in MotoGP (rookies may not race for the works team)

Sadly (for that idea) only Torro Rosso is such a team.

Quote from DevilDare :His whole mindset is in the wrong place. It is affecting his driving. He thinks he is the next RAP pop-glam star or something. Just look at him...

He probably thinks about the next time he can play hide the sausage with Nicole instead of concentrating on his driving.

Agree, even if i do not like him, I respect his talent, now he seams unfocused, if he worked in an office I would suspect a phone in his lap with facebook.

Maybe he just realized Button is faster than him and just wants to die....

Well, not quite, but a sterling effort.

Ice cold, locking up the front to get the car turned back. Thats a trick I manage to do in LFS sometimes but at those speeds among walls its an impressive save.

EDIT: I was wrong about Hamilton, Webber was inbetween them.

I think Hamilton tried to make Schumie come late to the line, but then Mark came and spoiled that fun. (it would have been an awesome way to avenge Monza)

Quote from BlueFlame :Tried to download that soapbox car, everytime i tried to extract a file from the 7s there was some error. Downloaded it twice and still the same problem.

Try upgrading 7zip. (not sure in this case, but it soulds like that problem)

Quote from speedykev :F1 2011 Launch Trailer

http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2011/9/12533.html

I have a good feeling about this one. Roll on next Friday.

But F1 cars are not normally that soft in the rear and hard in the front that they three wheel, looks like an old touring car.

(well, the driving physics does not have to be the same as the visual physics)

Loud LOL when I could imagine Schumies arrogant smile as he repassed Hamilton in to T1 when Lewis finally got side by side on then inside.

Quote from pearcy_2k7 : still had some track and a large amount of kurb to use.

Sweet, the width of a hand to at 266kph, and hamiltons has already broken his rear suspension.

I consider this 1000000ppm Hamiltons fault, but still a racing incident.

CMR1 or was it CMR2 had decent physics of the time, the other of the two was too arcade even for the times. (do not remember which)

Then everything (toca, rd, etc) was crap (or worse) until Drirt2. Dirt3 is not so good (I picked up LFS again after buying Dirt3).

The difference between Dirt1/3 and 2 is that you can feel the weight of the car, and use the weight to your advantage and (ofcourse) disadvantage since you have to use the breaks.

Webber and Wettel picks up their bottles after the photo.
Webber: "-This is empty, gimme my bottle back."
Vettel: "-Hmm, did Adrian drink it all?......."
Vettel: "-Oh, a sip left."

From this point of view Hamilton first twitches when Maldonado initiates the overtake (almost collecting him in the gearbox), then steers in to him as he passes. (it looks the other way from other angles though)

I love the Hamliton bashing as much as the next guy but given the visibility from Hamiltons position, the only sensible thing he can do is to get out of there ASAP, parking in the middle of the race track is bad at any time. That said, the penalty is good - even from Hamiltons position - it's much more fun driving through the pit lane than risking a ride with the helicopter.

Quote from BlueFlame :The penalty was fair, but to be honest it was made worse by the fact Di Resta took to the grasss when there was still room there. (not that I'm critisizing him for doing so).

I think that Di Resta was driving a bit too fast to aim the car better while swerving to avoid Hamilton.

Quote from heson :Think its only 36 valid combinations, last digit is most probably a controldigit (making sure the checksum is exactly 0) should be quite trivial to program a generator for all valid combinations IF you got the algorithm fo the checksum.

One more trick, isn´t there a bar code on the label?, try photo it and run it through a software barcode scanner.

Quote from Dygear :There are 26 letters in the alphabet. As Windows keys are UPPERCASE only, we don't have to worry about the lowercase characters. But as the windows keys area alpha-numeric, meaning they contain both letters and numbers we have to deal with that too. Being that the width is only 1 character wide, we only have to deal with numbers from 0 - 9, or 10 numbers total. From there, we have 26 + 10 = 36. Now he does not know the last two characters, so it has multiplicative effect. 36 * 36 = 1296.

So, there are 1,296 different combinations.

Think its only 36 valid combinations, last digit is most probably a controldigit (making sure the checksum is exactly 0) should be quite trivial to program a generator for all valid combinations IF you got the algorithm fo the checksum.

One man army fighting a war without sense. I'm trying to make sense of it but even from his view point it is stupid and contra productive. I could see some kind of argumentation for the bombing, but the slaughter is demented. Ethnic cleansing of social democrats, that can lead to nothing he want to achieve.

Quote from deggis :^ Hate to say it but that is kind of funny.

Very clever... Hmm I have some friends I need to check up now... :-)

Quote from atledreier :News says he was shooting more or less continuously for over 45 minutes. What kind of rifle can take that abuse? Unless there were more guns on Utøya.

A Ruger Mini-14, a shotgun and a Glock (as from what I find), since he kept cool and methodical, sniping with single shot he could probably go on until he ran out of ammo.

Quote from atledreier :
We here in Norway feel a bit strange now. A friend of mine called it 'a rape', which is kind of fitting, I think.

This is insane, I feel for Norway.

First: F1 is about finding the unfair advantage, if it was not it would be spec racing and that is the opposite of what F1 should be about. (it is also the FIA's job to stop any exploits they can to keep F1 interesting)

I think FIA is filing this as a safety issue.
Banning (or making it hard to get efficient) ground effect is a safety issue (put in 1994), putting hot air under the car to let it cool to generate vacuum is forcing a ground effect -> so its a safety issue. (more than) A bit contrived I might admit but I think this is the FIA thinking.

I would do exact copy to the larger drive on usb, using dd in linux. (very low level, would take a day or two)
Then swap in the larger drive and boot it. Then finally expand the partition to the full drive.

Boot linux to command promt (linux live on usbstick).
"fdisk -l" to verify both disks are online and that /dev/sda is the smaller disk and /dev/sdb is the larger.
then "dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb conv=notrunc bs=8M" and wait and wait and wait.

There are Acronis free that does all you need but it maybe only works if the destinationdrive is of a brand that licenses acronis.

There is some irony about the Ducati front end giving Stoner a tough time even when he is not even riding the damn bike.

Simoncelli did a fantastic ride (until he crashed)

But it will be Stoner vs. Lorenzo for the championship, I see no real contender.

Quote from mrodgers :Finally found the 2 stupid little roads in the city near the airport that I looked at 100 times. Neither road could be seen on my television (360 and very old TV) and I finally happened to get the cursor in the right spot to see it change to the red circle.

Yeah, finding the last % of road is teadius work. I found them by driving around keeping one eye on the minimap (they show better there)

Bah, just wasted over 1'000'000 on upgrading the Konigsegg and its geared improperly so I cant get near 400kph (I wanted it to max out at 450, the Veyron feels so slow)

Quote from FPVaaron :LSD is only physiologically dangerous if you have some mental instability.

That might be true, but if a lot of people have latent mental instability that is only unlocked by lsd?

(also consider hppd)

Of my close friends, of those who have used psychedelics 100% are unemployed by choice. One lives in the woods*, he has a masters degree in computer science so he is not the normal hippie.
It could be that massive doses of psilocybine makes you see the world better so you can jump off the consumerist spiral, it could also be that it makes you unable to perform at (or enjoy) a normal job.

On the festiva vs ferrari issue, I think you should upgrade the festiva to a hot hatch. I've been to many raves sober and its awesome, mostly because the the guys who drunk them selves cavemen are not there. Also the beauty of the nature at an outdoor rave is nice (Even if its from sunset to dawn and you dont see the nature from all the strobes, lasers and whatever)

Quote from E.Reiljans :Why not to use rsync?

Yes its the correct tool for the task. Wrap it in a script to keep track of what you want to (*.avi, *.mpg, pr0n* etc) and limit the bandwidth so you can do other stuff while syncing.

There are many variants of rsync, like cygwin and some native ports.

Let those who do not understand better use crappy tools if they like.

(yes I've been chipping away at the race all week)

Think I need some band aid for my fingers, from all the nailbiting in the end.

I thought Phillip Island was sweet, but this was epic, its a great year to be a Lowndes fan.
